www.aetv.com/shows/hoarders/season-9/episode-6It is a (two hour!) episode of "Hoarders" that was filmed in Greensboro late last year. (The episode is titled "Sandra.") The house is a BEAUTIFUL 10,000 s.f. mansion built in 1929. Sandra and her husband bought in in the 70s or 80s. She was a prominent interior decorator at the time. At some point, she has clearly snapped -- the house (31 rooms on four floors) is stacked to the gills with nonsense. She had some tale that people broke in and piled up valuables in the foyer that they were going to come back and steal so to keep them out, she piled up other furniture. I'm not sure how that justifies seven feet of nonsense in every room on the fourth floor, but she stuck to her story. She apparently ran some sort of mortgage fraud, borrowing here to repay there, and ended up owing $1.2 million to Wells Fargo. After years of lawsuits about who owned the house, the bank sold the home to a young gay couple who are rehabbing the house to live there with their twin daughters. They called the tv show because they wanted her to get some counseling help. And they called in an auction house to go through and find anything that could be sold to raise money for her. They were much kinder than most people would have been in that situation (IMO). Here is a story with some photos: www.journalnow.com/news/local/peek-inside-greensboro-s-historic-julian-price-house/article_54675977-32c4-5c56-b63d-e00347e177fa.htmlThis one shows some of the "before" photos -- from what they showed on TV, all 31 rooms (and the basement, and a tunnel running the length of the house) were like this: www.greensboro.com/go_triad/film_tv/hoarders-tv-show-spotlights-historic-julian-price-home/article_5f384da4-32a9-5f90-b666-108905b3cd14.htmlThere is a FB page dedicated to the house. www.facebook.com/julianpricehouse/

This episode was the most difficult one to watch. Those men were so kind and compassionate to her and her illness was so profound.. such a bad situation. I follow the Julian price house on Facebook and the restoration they are doing is amazing!

I watched that last year. It was riveting to watch. It made me wish those guys were my best friends. They were so kind to the woman.

I remember that episode. It was so sad. I adore those two men and their kindness towards Sandra.

I watched that back when it originally aired. The two men were a study in kindness.
I have forgotten though to check in on the renovation of the home. Thanks for the reminder.

Just watched this. Thank you for sharing librarylady. The people (psychiatrist, cleaners) that work with this kind of illness are saints!!! I would lose patience very quickly. Those men are saints also. I got teary-eyed every time the one owner was so emotional about what was happening/happened to Sandra and her stuff. Glad it turned out that they would not lose their house if Sandra got the decision reversed about the foreclosure.

I didn't see the episode, thanks for posting this, though. I love old houses. I can't imagine how much it is costing to renovate that place!

Great guys, cute girls. Way too much house for me! A kitchen and a few rooms would be more than good!

we just watched the original 2 hour episode on HULU a few weeks ago. It was fascinating. The new owners are saints. I am curious to find out about what has happened since this originally aired. Anyone willing to spoil this for me once it airs? Thanks in advance!

Has there ever been a Hoarders episode where there was a huge problem with scrapbooking/cratfing supplies? 😆
