Introducing............ Stoli! She is a 9 week old Siberian Husky who weighs 12 lbs! Thanks so much for the name suggestions. The site that was linked above is great. My dh was having trouble consistently pronouncing Miska! He kept putting an "sh" into it.

she's adorable! She does look kind of serious, with the white spots over her eyes-- she looks like she's concentrating. I'm no help with names, either... our dogs are all named after towns/places here in Arizona. (and for the most part, we kept the names the shelters gave the cats, because they seemed to suit them.) ...maybe something that goes with her Siberian husky heritage? an Eskimo / Native American word or name? ETA: the only thing I'd recommend is that I think it's better if it's multiple syllables, and if it has a 'hard' sound to it, so it's easier to get her attention when you need to. (when you need to yell at her- not that you'll have to, she looks like a sweetie!) Our dogs are Prescott (hard P sound, hard T sound), Bisbee (hard B sounds) and Krista (hard K and hard T sound)... names with F, or with a SH- sound, N, R, etc. don't have a 'harsh' enough edge to it when you need to yell it. My DD's name is Krista. I'll have to find the town and take her to it now.

My DD's name is Krista. I'll have to find the town and take her to it now. oh, I'm so sorry! I misled you- we bought Krista when she retired from the show ring, so she already had her name and we didn't want to change it, even though it didn't fit our pattern. As far as I know, there's no town named Krista in Arizona. (but you never know!) And I like the name Stol; very nicei!! Give Stoli some skritches and kisses from me and the Shelties.
