I've decided that I have enough Christmas decorations and want to make a few fall things. Have you seen anything you like? I'm looking for something more grown up now that the kids have all left the nest.
What a concept, making something I like and want to look at.

My advice is to hit Pinterest. If you can't find it there it probably doesn't exist.

I didn't know Silhouette could cut fabric! Have you tried it? Cute runner.

That is a cute fall runner! I may just steal this idea too. It would look awesome on my new 1800s dining table. I need to get rid of my current dining room furniture so I can move my new old table into the dining room. I have a friend who purchased the Silhouette Cameo and left it in the box for months. She finally got it out after my pestering her about it. I teased her mercilessly about it. I have a Cricut and plenty of cartridges for it. After this friend began to use her Silhouette (she also has a Cricut) she told me she absolutely adores it and finds it ten times better than her Cricut, which she sold after using the Silhouette. I kept meaning to go see it in action, but hadn't done so. I have a good deal of money invested in the Cricut setup already and had no desire to replace it. Then I get an email from her at 11:45 one night that the Silhouette was on sale until midnight. I impulse bought. It was a really good buy. My mental conversation with myself during that few minutes said I would go see hers in action without unpacking mine, and if I felt converted, I would open it and sell my Cricut stuff too. And I'm ashamed to say it has sat under my desk since the day it was delivered. It is still there, unopened. I have dusted the box a few times though. I'm not typically like that. I usually can't wait to play with a new toy, but I've been overwhelmed with other things since the Silhouette came. If my friend knew I hadn't opened it yet, she'd rightfully roast me over it. It has probably been a year, give or take.
I think this is just the project to get me to crack open that box and start using it. Depending on how much I like it, I may sell off the Cricut stuff or just use both, depending on the project. I can't see why it would be so much better, but I've heard so many people claim that it is. Thanks for the push to get it out and make this runner! The same concept would make a nice snowman runner too.

These are great ideas! I love the table runner, but have said never again to applique. You know what they say about saying never.... And wow, to be able to do that with a Silhouette!
The treat jar and turkey are adorable!
Thank you all!

I didn't know Silhouette could cut fabric! Have you tried it? Cute runner. It was super easy! I used the clean cut interfacing from Silhouette and it worked like a charm. I did have to adjust my depth to a bigger number than what was in the settings to begin with and I slowed down the speed a little too, after I ruined one piece of fabric. Other than that, it was super easy and quick! If I was hand-cutting all those leaves, I'd still be working on it this time next year. LOL

I saw the silhouette in a quilt shop, it seemed fantastic I just can't justify the $250+. Price right now.
