Happy Saturday! I'll be posting a Word prompt for your scrapbooking/cardmaking/papercrafting inspiration every Saturday this month!
Today's word is WATER!
Feel free to interpret that any way that works for you - scrap a photo of water or water activities (beach, river, lake, rain, swimming...), use blues and aquas and turquoises (colours of water)....include a quote from a poem or song about water....use elements that are reminiscent of water...up to you!
I'm looking forward to seeing all the creations - everyone here is SO creative!

Great challenge! In the middle of a Canadian winter, maybe I need to pull out some beach photos from last summer...

Hey, mamakoala, I think this would be the perfect spot to see some more of your cute rainy farmyard stamping. Bring on the piggy in rain boots!

Thanks for the leap into weekend scrapbooking! I always find it hard to let go of the work week and head into my scrap space and it will help to have something in my head to get me going. I was going to head back to the first two Feb. prompts but this is a simple way to start me off!
You know those multi-colour or ombre "wave" patterned papers from a couple years ago? Gonna go dig out a couple!

I am in the middle of this one but waiting on things drying before I can continue. So I probably won't get finished till tomorrow. But I love the prompt and knew what to do immediately!

Looking forward to seeing the creations in the works! Okay, I already shared this a couple of other places, but after re reading this challenge, I decided it really DOES fit in here. There are some blues and teals here and a bit of wet media (the handwritten Nuvo drops title). little men by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I still want to do justice to this challenge at a later date. It makes me want to use alcohol inks on acetate, maybe pull out the water colour paints or pencils, scrap beach photos...

Once again apologies for the dreadful photo, and even worse, as you know by now I order prints after I complete the layout, and this placeholder print from my printer is deplorable. I added the print from the computer so you can see the beautiful color in this photo. When I read this prompt last night, let me tell you, I did not think I would be able to come up with an entry. The only thing I could think of was my 2005 cruise to Alaska but I had already scrapped all those photos. But then, in the middle of the night it came to me. I have been wanting to go back to some of my special trips and scrap a large size photo and frame them for my office wall. The prompt now became such an inspiration for me to get started on this project that I have continued to put off. The other benefit of this prompt was it also made me gather up all the cruise supplies I had purchased for my album, put them all together in an additional page protector in the back of the album. I have been planning to do this with several of my trips where specific supplies were purchased and ones I know I will not use for other projects. The white clips on the corner of the photo will not be on the end product, but I needed to hold the layers together since I am going to double mount the photo P9200527 by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr

maribeth, this is GORGEOUS! That cs matches the "real" photo perfectly! And I love that little map of Alaska by the title. What a cool idea for a project. It will be fun for you to relive all those adventures every time you enter your office!

grammadee I always enjoy your layouts. Oh, those eyes on that cutie! maribeth That is a lovely photo! I like your idea to enlarge and frame it. ETA - No one cares about the photo quality! I can't get my photos of my layouts to be square. You'll see that below.

and I've finally managed a layout for my own challenge 2-page layout of 4 photos of Yokosuka Japan that my son took. White cardstock background. Photos matted on white and then Navy in a block of two on each page. Page 1 has a torn paper border at the bottom of the page in shades of blues - mimics waves - and a matted, computer printed title at the top. Page 2 has a quote at the top "The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever. – Jacques Yves Cousteau" and medium blue cardstock tucked partly under the right side of the photo block with dark blue and white die cut anchors (QK)

Water. Ocean. BEACH! Some of this Mountain Girl's favorite words. In october we were blessed to visit our dear friends in Alabama. They know how much I love the beach, so they took us to Panama City, FL . Oh the white sand! Here is my take on this wonderful prompt. I also did a 2nd page for the weekend stretch prompt. 28-4-28 Day 3- Water by Pati Nuce, on Flickr

Thanks for the word challenge - enjoyed this. The first thing that came to mind was watercolour and I made this card using Papertrey Ink's Watercolor Wonder stamps to make a muted background. Added some rainstones to stick with the water theme and cut out my butterflies using my Cameo and Pixscan mat. I'm going to send this to my aunt. 28-4-28 Day 3 challenge - Just for You card by annieb8000, on Flickr

Great projects from everyone. grammadee love your layout. What precious photos! maribeth I love your idea of working with a large photo and framing it for your office. I think you're inspired me to do something similar. mikklynn love the way you used several photos in a framed cluster. I love the waterslide nylene. Looks like a fun day! patin you look so happy in the water - and I love how you showcased a really large photo. Great idea to go with frozen water stinkerbelle. What a fabulous photo and the metallics set it off so well.

I put the left side together awhile ago, and today I worked on the right side. Lots of cold water. grammadee, those faces! maribeth, amazing photo. I love the simplicity of the blue and white, and the anchor is the perfect embellishment. mikklynn, the paper looks like it was made for your photos. I like the b/w check accents. nylene, how fun! Did you go down the hill too? patin, I love the big happy photo and the glitter swirl effect you placed over the top. Nice! stinkerbelle, I'm freezing my butt off. Couldn't you have made a nice summery layout like the rest of us? Sheesh! j/k, I love your shiny bits. anniefb, it's beautiful! Can't wait for tomorrow's challenge!
