I am not a fan of that for safety reasons. I also hate when my kids participate in car wash fundraisers and have to dance around in the median waving signs around. I am also not a fan of the new trend a lot of businesses have of having employees stand out on the street or intersection waving signs to promote a business. It just seems so dangerous to me. There is a pizza place here that has several locations, and they have an employee dressed in a costume out on the street waving a sign. One of their locations is a very busy intersection, and I just cringe when I see it. It's a very popular thing to do, but I don't like it at all.

When my kids were younger and their clubs/sports teams wanted to beg to earn money, I didn't allow it. From the organizations point of view (and some parents), it's easier to raise money faster with less outlay to just go beg on the street. yup, that's a good lesson to teach the kids. I only allowed them to do fundraisers where they did something --like car washes, garage sales. Or I'd just prefer to write a check for our portion.
