I see that Red Frog pub and the Iguana Tequila Bar sells a Tervis cup . I read that you can get it filled with an alcohol drink frozen. What about refills during the cruise. Do those come at reduced cost if you choose to refill it.
I saw the big fishbowl from the Red frog Pub was glass and was like 44.00 and refills were 19. But its glass and huge I don't want to carry that around all day. I don't think I can drink enough for the Beverage package that is 600.00 per person for my husband and I.
I maybe will have drinks a day. I was hoping the Tervis glass might be a cheaper option then just buying a drink out right?

I'm cruising on Carnival Horizon April 2nd. This is my first cruise ever, so I am watching this thread closely.
I am not purchasing the beverage package either. We'll be in port 9 out of the 13 days and I am not a heavy drinker. No way will I consume anywhere near $650 in booze while on the trip.

I have been on 14 Carnival Cruises since 2010 and have purchased many of the Tervis Cups. No, you can't get refills at a reduced price. A frozen drink around the pool normally costs between 9 and 12 dollars with tip.
I have done the Cheers program a few times and I figure the break even point is right around 6 alcohol drinks a day. It also included all your soda, specialty coffee drink, bottled water, energy drink, Honest Tea's, etc. So don't think of it as just alcohol (which will be the biggest expense), if you have a Bloody Mary in the morning, a couple frozen drinks at the pool, wine with dinner then a couple drinks later in the evening - the cheers package may a good idea. But like 2peaornot2pea said, if you have a lot of ports it would be hard to break even.
We are cruising next in Alaska with a group of family members that don't drink much so I don't think we will get Cheers for that trip. But the New Years Cruise - we will - going with a couple we met on our last cruise - boy did we have FUN! That was the Hurricane Irma Cruise - 4 extra days at sea!
The Fishbowl is a one time drink and you don't get to keep the fishbowl, I have never heard of getting a refill for $19 but to be honest I never wanted a refill after we finished. You can't walk around with it - it stays in the Red Frog. We got one on the last cruise with our friends - 4 straws, just a fun silly thing to do. This is not included in the Cheers package!
I really enjoy Carnival but I have never been on another cruise line so I don't know anything different. We talk about going on another line but Carnival always keeps us coming back.
2peaornot2pea - The Carnival Horizon is the sister ship to the Vista which I have been on twice. We were in a Havana room - if you chose one of those you will love it. I don't think I will ever cruise on one of a Vista class ships without getting a Havana Room!

So water/soft drinks/coffee/ tea are not part of the cruise package?

I too am watching this thread. I can't decide about the drink package. I am torn. We will drink but I don't see myself drinking 14 drinks per day. But I will drink that much water. We are sailing on the Carnival Breeze out of Galveston in March.

So water/soft drinks/coffee/ tea are not part of the cruise package? Bottled water and soft drinks are not free. There is a small selection of juices/lemonade/iced tea (varies with cruise line) that are included in your cruise fare.

And of course coffee and tea are included, but not specialty coffees.
