Has anyone watched Absentia? About the female agent who goes missing and is recovered many years later? The preview looked really good, I think I will start that next. I binged watched this in two days. I highly recommend it.

Oh, and all three Ocean's movies are on Netflix - in case you're snowed in and need a Clooney fix.

I just read on Twitter this morning that the lead actor in Catastrophe lost his 2 1/2 year old son to brain cancer. Makes your heart hurt to think of his little one suffering and the grief of his loss.

So we had our Netflix thread about what great series we've been watching. How about an Amazon Prime thread about what great series we've been watching on there? I'll start. So far I've seen: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel-fantastic and funny. Can't wait for season 2. Good Girl's Revolt-loved this one so much! Can't believe they didn't renew it for another season. Poldark-if you haven't seen this watch this if you like historical drama. It's from PBS about a young English man coming back from fighting in the American Revolution. Things have changed for him at home (I don't want to give anything away) and he has to adjust to it. He (Ross Poldark) is played by the most handsome, best looking British actor I've ever seen. But aside from this it's incredibly well filmed with gorgeous scenery (not just him) in Cornwall, England, an incredible story line and amazing acting. Of course, it's from PBS. There are 3 seasons on Amazon but I had to pay to see the 3rd season. The first two are free. Honestly I was so into it by then I didn't mind paying at that point. Although looking back I should have just the DVD for what I paid to see it on Amazon-so that's a hint for you to save money and have it to keep. The White Queen-you can see it here or on Starz on demand if it's still there Pride and Prejudice-the PBS version which is so many episodes long it's actually more than one season Emma-the PBS version So what have you been watching on Amazon Prime that you can recommend? Just watched my first episode. Yeah, he's not an unattractive man is he? I enjoyed it, thanks for the recommendation! Has anyone watched Absentia? About the female agent who goes missing and is recovered many years later? The preview looked really good, I think I will start that next. I was just coming here to quote and bold that same line! I just started watching and birukitty was not kidding. Holy moly, what a perfect specimen of manhood. Masterpiece theater never disappoints with the lavish cinematography and soaring soundtrack. Loving it. Okay, now at the risk of having the wrath of the Peas thrown at me, I am watching the first season of the Cosby show on Prime. I know I know. I am putting aside the obvious bias and enjoying the show for the masterpiece that it was. The acting, the writing, the comedy is still superb, and reminds me of my own childhood growing up.

He paid a wonderful tribute to the care they received from the NHS and others involved in looking after their wee boy. It was very moving.

Goliath !! If you're a fan of Billy Bob Thornton, you will love this. I'm not at all a fan of his, but I LOVED this show. He's amazing in it. This is an old thread but I am commenting because we watched Goliath Season 1 and LOVED it but season 2 was the biggest load of crap TV I have ever seen.

I just started watching Agatha Christie's The ABC Murders with John Malcovich and I'm liking it so far. Very much my type of thing.

The Americans! It's not an original Amazon series, but you can watch it on amazon prime - it's excellent! DD and I loved this show so much. Can’t wait for the next series. Next series? Are they making one - tell me what you know!

I didn't care for that one, but the same director (I believe) has also done Christie's Crooked House (excellent) and Ordeal by Innocence (very good but nothing like the book as I recall it), and also And Then There Were None (not free with Prime at the moment but that may change, and IMO worth paying for.) Off the top of my head, I've enjoyed Grantchester, Whitechapel, and A Very British Scandal.

McLeod's Daughters - there's 8 seasons (and over 30 episodes to a season) ... luckily hubby likes it just as much as me. Women running a ranch in the outback - total escapism. Cowboys, horses, and amazing landscape. It goes back to 2001 so seeing the tech stuff is fun. It's been great to watch while we've had rain, plus sadly, I tend to hibernate on the weekends thanks to my commute.
Caught up on Poldark and then subscribed to PBS so I could watch last season. Man he's easy on the eyes.

DD and I loved this show so much. Can’t wait for the next series. Next series? Are they making one - tell me what you know! Series 6 was released I think a month or so after I posted above. It’s not on UK Prime yet but presume it will be at some point as the other series are.

Season 1 was as excellent, as Season 2 was horrible. ( I don’t think season 2 had come out yet in this thread. )

I also hated the added backstory to Poirot's character.

We watched the one with Julia Roberts but i forget what it was called. It was like a train wreck. We couldn’t stop watching but it wasn’t very good.

I also hated the added backstory to Poirot's character. I wondered about that, if this series was playing up some back story that didn't exist. I haven't read the book or seen any of the Poirot shows before this one. That's probably why I'm enjoying it, though it's a little heavy-handed on the symbolism and artsy shots. I didn't pick my phone up once while watching so that's saying something. ETA I delight in John Malkovich's hammishness. He's totally absurd sometimes. BUT I liked him in Bird Box and I like him in this.

I've started watching "Corner Gas." It's an old Canadian sitcom, but I laugh in every episode. Episodes are about 22 minute long.

We’ve been watching “Endeavor” and love it. It is a prequel to the Inspector Morse series (I haven’t even watched the Inspector Morse series) Endeavor is set in Oxford during the mid 1960s and is the story of the young constable before he become an inspector.
The details and music are wonderful. They really captured the vibe of the mid-sixties. There are 5 seasons and the next one starts later this year.

Just an aside as another person who has loved Catastrophe-how difficult must it be for Rob Delaney to have to film a show and play a father to young children. My heart breaks for his loss.
