Hi there fellow peas! I have started this thread so people can list crops/weekend retreats, etc. in their area. I thought this would be a fun way to spread the word and possibly meet a fellow pea IRL. admin can you please make this a sticky? (Thank you) I'll start: My friend Maggie, runs a weekend retreat at the beautiful Interlaken Inn in Lakeville, CT. Here is a link if you are interested: Making Memories LakesideWho is next??

I am co-hosting a crop on Saturday, April 14 in Plainville, MA. We raise money for the Relay for Life. It's our 10th year of doing these bi-annual crops. PM me if you are interested in more information - we don't have a website to link.

Hi Everyone, If you are in the Chicagoland area, check this out.
I have gone to this crop for about 9 years now. It is really relaxing. There is sunlight in the rooms and chairs are great. The downside? No booze in the crop rooms. And it is pricey because you also need to book a room at the Double Tree. It is a creative memories, but the consultant doesn't care what you use. If you are interested, her email is Jackie-cm@comcast.net
This is a letter she recently sent out:
Time to have a little fun with those pictures and crafting projects! … what better time of year? What better weather? We all know this is the perfect time of year to work on our photos & crafting projects but somehow life always seems to get in the way. Unless of course you escape for the weekend and craft to your heart’s content! Imagine all the pages you will complete over 3 wonderful days of not having to think about a thing beside what color paper you want to use with your project! Yes your meals are all taken care of and quite delicious at that! Plus a super comfy bed and an awesome scrapbook space. A big 6 foot table, a big black leather comfy chair and a goodie bag with newly released products! Not to mention massages & reflexology will be offered all weekend long! The Esplanade Conference center is an ideal setting and not far from home … Your own 6 ft table, where you can leave everything set up Big black leather cushy chairs for your comfort (no hard banquet chairs here!) Won’t have to even think about food – delicious meals are provided for you Hotel suites are attached so you don’t even have to walk outside Covered garage parking and assistance unloading and loading your car Goodie bags and breakout out sessions to inspire you Unlimited laughs – couldn’t you use that right about now? Ok what’s not to like here? But time is running out… this event takes place March 2-4th! Hit REPLY now if you want more details / have questions / let me know you are coming . We need to get you registered ASAP! Looking forward to having you join me on this fun weekend – aren’t you ready for a little get-away???

This isn't an event but www.creativepassionsllc.com/ in Michigan has FOUR retreat locations in Chesaning, Michigan for quilters and scrapbookers, if anyone is looking to grab a few girlfriends and get away for the weekend. You can take any group size you want. 12 people or less will likely be sharing crop space and kitchen space with others- unless you are in one of her suites- but she will never room strangers together. Creative Passions 1 can accommodate up to 16 and is housed in an old church. It has two bathrooms, a lounge area, a kitchen and dining room area. Creative Passions 2 can house up to 24 and is also housed in an old church. It has several bathrooms, a lounge area and Kitchen and dining room area. Creative Passions 2b is a separate suite off of CP2. It houses 5 and has its own bathroom bedrooms and kitchens. This is for small groups. Creative Passions 3 can accommodate up to 12 and is housed in an old Victorian house. It also has a lounge area and a kitchen and dining area. Creative Passions 3b is a suite in the basement of the house, houses 4 and has its own bathroom, kitchen and bedrooms. Creative Passions Retreat Center is housed in an old hotel/ later bed and breakfast. It has a crafting room that accommodates 24 and another that accommodates 16. They share a kitchen and large dining room. Each bedroom sleeps 4 and had it's own bathroom. There are also several lounge areas. Additionally, she has 3 four person suites, with a separate kitchen and dining area and bathroom for each suite. Finally, in the main building she has one four person suite, with their own bathroom and a limited snack area that includes fridge and microwave, and couch. They share the full kitchen and dining room with the 16 and 24 person crop rooms. All lounge areas and work areas have tvs. The kitchens are all fully stocked with dishes, pots pans, dishwasher, fridge etc. Continental breakfast is provided each day. You are responsible for the rest of your meals. Price is 140 for F-sun or Mon-th. I have no association with Creative Passions other than I enjoy two retreats that I host there a year

Is there anyone here go to these crops alone and not knowing anyone there? I don’t know if it be fun to go alone. I’ve never been to one before. Three years ago I attended a weekend scrapbook retreat where I didn't know a single person. By the second day I had a bunch of new friends. I attend this same retreat five or six times a year now. These are my people! I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to try out this retreat.

In fact, I have before, and met nice people. And one time, I went with a bunch of friends to a weekend crop out of town, and they kind of did their own thing... I arrived after them, so I had to sit/scrap off by myself, and my room was away from them. They didn't make much of an effort to include me, although we did go out to a couple of meals together. Still, I had fun scrapbooking and chatting with a bunch of other ladies doing the same.

Does anyone know of any in south-central PA; i.e., in the Lancaster-Gettysburg-York area? Yes, I know of some and I will get back on here as soon as I grab the info. Pages in Time in Brickerville/Lititz hosts crops and classes. I will revisit this post when I get home.
