Good news is that after many years, my craft room, which is just our 3rd car garage that we converted into a room, is getting proper insulation and a good A/c! And the garage door itself will be replaced by a wall with windows! I have never been able to craft in there past April/May due to the heat (we are in Florida) and it can't be good for my supplies to be in 85 degree heat. So that's the good news!!! Summer crafting!!
On the down side, that means everything in the room needs to be removed, all the supplies need to be taken off their shelves, and I won't have access to them until the room is complete (haven't talked to the construction guy about how long it will take). Waaah!
I WILL be creating a small "go to" box of supplies to use in my living room while the room is getting fixed: tape, stamps, stamp positioner, ink, cardstock, copics....
Anyway, I am excited for the room to finally be cool but a little sad I wont have access to my goodies!!

It will be SO worth it!
Our next home will have a dedicated space for me or we won't be buying it.

Well that's super exciting! I imagine all this work will make the room practical year round - so lost time during construction will be made up in no time.

The time will go by before you know it. And you will get a really great layout from the experience.

All the disruption will be totally worth it!
Glad you are putting together a toy box to use while the new room is under construction!

excited for you! i agree, it will definitely be worth the pain of not being as creative as you could be with your full stash at your fingertips. on the other hand, limited supplies might amp up your creativity too. have fun putting your new cooler space together!

How exciting! Are you getting everything you want in the new room?

How exciting! I'm actually thinking about completely removing EVERYTHING from my scrapbook room/office this summer and systematically only putting things back there that I love and use... that way I'll be forced to go through all of those "oh that is so cute, I just must have it!" stuff that I bought way back when, when I was a newbie, but have long since outgrown.
It will be a HUGE mess for a long time but I think when it's all done, I'll fall in love with my room again...

If you took all of you scrappiness to the living room I bet that would expedite the construction process.

Being without that space will be hard during the process, but the results will be wonderful!

How exciting! Are you getting everything you want in the new room? Well, what i want is for someone to go to ikea and get me exactly what i want and then put it all together for me LOL. That's not going to happen, so for the moment, I am content with what I have. I might get some stamp storage thingies from stamp n storage, but o/w I am good. I'd rather spend my money on goodies, tbh. Also< i just spoke to the builder and he says it shouldnt take more than 2 weeks or so to get it all done--not bad! The ugly old garage door (the kind that lifts up) will be replaced by a solid insulated wall with 2 windows (which I plan on putting some cute girly curtains on--this is a WOMAN CAVE! LOL DH has zero say) and a good wall a/c unit. He's going to cover the cement brick wall with dry wall, and I suppose since all my stuff will be out I will paint the walls--I am thinking a bright tangerine

If you took all of you scrappiness to the living room I bet that would expedite the construction process. And it would also expedite divorce proceedings.

I think that's a great idea-a purge every once in a while is awesome to kickstart your creativity, plus you'll probably find goodies that you totally forgot about!

How exciting for you. I’m sure the two weeks will still feel like forever but it will be worth it.

I'd take those two weeks to go through everything I had and purge and think of some new inexpensive storage.

Ohhh that is so exciting! I can imagine that it gets pretty toasty in there in the summer months (I am in FL too).
Just try to stay focused on the end result - a usable scrap space that will be newly organized and sorted. LOL
