There have been two times when I've had chest pain that has landed me at the emergency room because I thought I was having a heart attack. The first time it happened, I ended up with an not only an echo stress cardiogram but an angiogram also and my heart was fine and the cardiologist could not explain my chest pain.....flash forward another seven years after I was diagnosed with GERD and I had it happen again. The conclusion that time was my GERD, along with an anxiety attack because of my symptoms. Both GERD and anxiety attacks can mask themselves in chest pain but it is always good to get any chest pain checked out. Better safe than sorry. Good luck!

I always thought GERD felt like heart burn? I don't have the tell tale burning feeling. Just pressure/pain in my chest sometimes starting at left shoulder and down. I swore the other night I had discomfort in my jaw at the same time.
