This is why we are not moving to china. Yeah, they are moving somewhere else in the near future (not sure where the job will send them yet) but my aunt said that she couldn’t wait to be able to leave the house without a mask and without having to see bodily fluids/functions. My friend was tell me that one of his friends was hired to open a theatre in mainland china. The contract was for five years and an obscene amount of money. The guy lasted 18 months. It took him a year to recover.

I barely tolerate not so clean public bathrooms, coming across this situation would disgust me to no end.

My college kids told me the term "gypsy" is extremely offensive and never to use it. Is that not the case? Just surprised to see it used here. (My husband said it once and the kids freaked out! Lol)

We had a co-worker get caught (finally) for pooping in the trashcan in the office kitchen. He said the manager made him feel like sh*t so he wanted her to experience the same. He was sent for mental counseling and never returned. It was disgusting!
In an emergency I can understand outside, but not as blatant as that!

It's considered a pejorative because of the offensive words that "gyspy" generationed: gyp or gypped. Their racist origin has now tinged the original "gypsy". The term they use to describe themselves is usually Roma or Romani, and Traveler is also common. And yes, Shitting in public is extremely offensive.

Wow...this is pretty interesting and gross. LOL.
The only people I cut some slack on this are long distance runners because well....shit happens, especially when running for 2 hours. Fortunately, it's never happened to me, but when I was a young, inexperienced runner I was training on the trails in our park, following behind another woman for a good 10 miles. At one point, she veered off the path and just disappeared deep into the woods. I got worried that someone grabbed her so I followed behind - and then found her popping a squat and taking a poop. LOL>

Well, after hearing reports on the radio, it seems to be the thing to do in San Francisco. They say there are so many human feces on the sidewalks it's disgusting. This doesn’t surprise me. When I went there with my mom, aunt and uncle decades ago, I remember how much the downtown areas smelled strongly like pee. It was gross.

Where do you live? My aunt and uncle are currently in China and they say that you can’t Leave the house without people pooping, peeing, vomiting, spitting, etc in public. Even in the city where they live. I’m curious if the people you saw were of a different culture where it could be the norm to do this? Doesn’t make it ok to do in our culture, but might give an explanation. I agree, it is gross. This is why we are not moving to china. I wondered if the US gypsy show was the same as the Gypsy's living in England. We seem to not have them in Canada that I know of but I find their culture interesting. Shitting in the sidewalk is definitely offensive!

Interesting then that any of them would appear in shows such as My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, American Gypsies, Gypsy Sisters, Gypsy Kids: Our Secret World, and various one-off specials if they consider the word to be a slur. On the show they also describe themselves as gypsies and everyone else as a gorga. There are also many advocacy groups for gypsies, Roma, and Irish travellers with that specific word in the title.

My niece works in a casino. They find turds laying on the carpet daily. A certain ethnic group poops in their pants then shake it out their pants leg onto the carpet. I thought she was joking but she was dead serious. True story.

The term gypsy is frowned upon, and people do consider it offensive. Unless you are actually talking about the Romany Gypsy ethnic group. Where you would not shorten it and use the full title. Usually now the preferred term is traveller. So generally it is no longer used.

Gee I can’t even poop in front of my husband or my kids. I don’t even like having the dog in there when I’m doing my businesss. I sure couldn’t poop in public in front of strangers.

We often find poop in the sink in the men's restroom. One of my coworkers works in the school system and she said that they often find poop in the sink in the boys' bathrooms.
I do not want to conjecture how the poop got into the sink as it would require a person to be nearly 7 feet tall to easily defecate in the sink in question.
Which is why I wash my hands regularly. Because people are disgusting and unbelievably unhygenic.

The person shitting in the street yesterday was probably an Irish Traveller. However since I could only see his bare ass I cannot confirm his exact ethnicity. However, when I volunteered on Lesvos to help the Syrian refugees, the people stealing the donated clothing and shoes and reselling them were most definitely Romani Gypsies. Apologies if my terminology was offensive.

I feel like pooping in the woods is OK in an emergency but not on any kind of path for crying out loud. Also I don't understand why you would need a "helper" to pass you the toilet paper. This just grosses me out on so many levels.

The gypsies did the same thing in Naples. There was also a young child that was nude every time we drive by. That bothered me the most.

Ok Ithought we were about to have a conversation about whether or not you'll poop in a public restroom - like say, Walmart. This is NOT what I expected! WTF!? I would definitely call the cops. Nasty. Same here😊

If you (referring to the group, please don't let them be Scandinavian) can't leave when you need to use the bathroom, you should have a gambling problem you should consider getting help for. That's worse than pooping on the pavement.

That is gross! There was a serial pooper in Colorado Springs last Fall/Summer who people would see out for a run early in the morning and stop to poop. I don't know if they ever caught her. I heard someone did this at a run at WDW this past weekend, which again is gross. I am guessing that the gypsies likely do this based on their living conditions but I sure don't understand why. I hope my life never sinks to that kind of level:( I saw this. Seriously. A serial pooper!!! They did catch her, but I'd like to know what her consequences were!! I don't think they have ever actually caught her, but a friend or family member made an apology for her on a you tube video saying she had a medical condition or something like that.
