i finally pulled mine out and did something with it. downloaded canvas to my pc and found a bunch of free cut files, then converted them in canvas so i can use them with my machine. i did cut one and was mostly successful (blade issues not cut file issues). then i cut out a sheet of digital labels i'd had printed at the UPS store. that worked fantastic and then i found a gorgeous maggie holmes floral and cut some of them out, which turned out amazingly well, too! this is the real reason i bought the machine; i can't see for squat and fussy cutting is just too difficult for me. i'm excited to play some more!

johna, open PSE (I’m using PSE11), go to File at the top left > new > choose letter 8 1/2 x 11 (or ctrl N) Open your element in PSE, and you can drag it from the photo bin at the bottom onto your blank page. Resize as needed. Then make sure the layer is highlighted on the right side of the screen and has the box around it. Go to Edit at the top left, scroll down to Stroke Outline > Selection. Choose Width 10 px, color white (if you want a border around your element), choose Outside, Opacity 100% Repeat the steps above but this time make your Width 2 px and color black, Outside, Opacity 100% If your element is solid, like perhaps a heart, you’re good to go. If there is white space inside your element it will put lines there too. Today I just figured out to use the eraser to remove the black line. You can mess with the numbers if you want a bigger border around the outside. Hope this helps. If it’s as clear as mud, just holler!

amayalylac, where is the manual? sorry for the dumb question. No, it's not a dumb question. Please don't think that. Mine was in the box. It is a small manual but there is a lot in it. Brother might have it on their site too.

There seemed to be a lot of stuff in there.
