Does anyone know the kind of thread card makers use on their cards? It’s usually behind a label or something. I don’t know what kind it is or where to find it. Thanks!

Do you have a specific example? I know a lot of cardmakers use DMC embroidery floss for different accents, but I'm unsure if that's what you're referring to. If you have a picture maybe we could help more?

Embroidery - I use DMC floss only because I have a ton from my cross-stitch days.
Sewing machine or hand stitching - I use my regular sewing machine thread. I only buy Gutterman.
Bakers Twine - I usually use whatever brand I've picked up the cheapest.

For just balling up behind embellishments I think it is just normal sewing thread. I also have used baker's twine, gold or copper thread and embroidery floss.

Stampin Up has gold, silver, copper, and black metallic thread that I sometimes use.

I mostly use Baker's Twine. I occasionally use embroidery floss. I've never used anything as thin as sewing thread, but I don't sew on my cards or layouts.

It sounds like you mean when a card has a "tangle" or "nest" of metallic thread behind an element? For that, I like the metallic embroidery thread from the embroidery section of the craft store - DMC, Kreinik, Sulkey, Coats & Clark

Use whatever you want, and/or have. There are no rules in card making either.
