I was planning to take my older two kids to Black Panther tonight, but DH told all of the kids we were going. Wondering if it is ok for a 9 and 6 year old?

I wouldn't say it's bad for kids. They would still like it. The visuals are spectacular and it's funny and there are kick-ass animals at the end. They just wouldn't understand some of the issues being presented.

I think it would be fine for the 9 year old, not sure for the 6 year old. It's not gory/bloody, but it is violent. It may be too intense for the younger one. Plus not sure he'd really get it at his age.

My 4 year old and 8 year old went and saw it with their Dad and Grandfather. They were fine. We've also watched every other Marvel, and most DC movies, that are available multiple times with them. The exception would be "Deadpool" for super obvious reasons. The only one that "upset" any of them was "Batman vs Superman" because of the ending, my son cried. We explained it, he was fine.

It's PG-13, so not appropriate for young children.

i would take mine if they were that age.
strong female role models, no bad language that i recall, no sexual scenes... some violence but if the kids aren't sheltered from regular superhero movies, they probably won't blink.

I would have taken DS at either of those ages. There’s the usual superhero violence but nothing too bloody and gory. There is a fight between two people (not Killmonger, but the first challenger)vying for rule of a kingdom and there is a strong code of honor in the aftermath that I found to be unusual in this type of movie. And even without this, I would recommend it because the women in this film were so strong. Boys need exposure to that concept.

Well, we ended up taking them. 9 year old was fine but the 6 year old said he wished he was home when the trailers were still on because it was so loud (we had to sit in the front). I had given him the option of staying home and even said I would take him to Peter rabbit this weekend but he wanted to go and DH thought he would be ok. He hid his head in my chest the whole time and pretty much slept through it. We don't watch a lot of movies that aren't cartoons.

My 6 year old granddaughter loved it. Then again, she has seen all the Marvel movies (except Logan and Deadpool), Wonder Woman, the entire Star Wars series, and all of Harry Potter.
Strangely enough, she got scared during A Wrinkle in Time, but she still loved it.

They are rated 12a here, so under 12 if with an adult. I always waited until my kids were 12 to see any 12 a.
