We were the house with the lights up all year. I had a neighbor make a nasty comment, but not one of them asked why ? Well husband was off his feet with a bulging disc that was really bad. ( this was the first one 20 years ago). I could not take the lights off the house myself, and we had no extra money to do it. It really would have been nice if somebody stopped by to help me take those lights off. I stopped helping neighbors with anything after that. We leave ours up on the house, we just unplug them so they stop turning on automatically at night. DH is afraid of heights and there’s no way he’s climbing the high ladder to put them up and take them down from the high peak of the garage. As long as they still work they stay on the house!

Mu neighbor has a wreath on their door. Everytime I see it I think "Christmas"! But, I know it is not a Christmas wreath.

My neighbors are all pretty nice. There is this one fellow I'm curious about, as he is ALWAYS carrying and drinking from some sort of portable travel mug. Literally, always. At board meetings. (He's also pretty annoying at the board meetings, asking a lot of badgering questions of the board and monopolizing the meeting.) At the beach. Walking his dog. IN the pool in summer. I have never seen anyone else stand around in the pool always holding a cup. So - I'd like to ask him what secrets he and his traveling mug might have. Clearly it's poly juice potion

I’m sure my neighbors want to ask me when I’m going to remove the dead, dried up plants from the pits around my door 😄 I want to know what my neighbor does in his garage with all the late-night sawing (10 pm-ish) We, of course, think that’s when he cuts up the bodies. But the reality is that’s probably the only time he has during the day to do his hobby. and his hobby is........cutting up dead bodies???

I would like to ask my neighbours 2 questions.....
1) can I see all the alterations you have done (I knew the old neighbours really really well, so was over there daily and her over my house daily)
2)what did we do to upset you so you never talk to us??? Truly, after they moved in, I went over to introduce myself, tell them when rubbish day was and nothing.....that is over 2 years ago

Yes, how can they just leave their 4 small dogs outside in a gated yard for 4-5 days when they go to Orlando? They built a very nice big dog house for them and leave out lots of food and water but you never know what can happen. This is coyote mating season and besides that just the smell of their food left out can attract predators. I worry about them and count them each morning, how can they just go and leave them. SMH

We moved from the city and then burbs to a rural community. SOOO, SOOO many questions. But we moved into a house and property that needs to be fixed up and reclaimed, and at the same time my dd started having debilitating stomach pain/issues, dh lost his job and started his own business, so I'm sure they have just as many questions for me. I'm old. I'm tired. Some days, due to dd, I don't get to bed until after 2. I'll get it done...eventually. Priorities.

They think of stopping by, but never actually do. Or that they are just busy. We used to stop by the neighbors before we moved in. We bought the place 4 years prior. Since we've moved I've been to one neighbors 2x and the other 1x. I just get busy in my own little world.

Does annoy me a bit, but I would like to know what we did to upset them.....

I want to know which of our neighbours exactly didn't want natural gas on our street. Then I can tear a strip off her. This is a sore spot for me. I am only 99.98625% sure but I really want to just flip out on her.
Other than that I don't really have any questions for my neighbours. They are all really nice, normal people. They are really nice, normal people except HER!

I’d like to ask the lady down the road why she only mows once a year, why she started painting her trim green and stopped half way through. Why she only painted part of the front door, why she started building a new fence but only did half of it. Why she has a fugly 70’s couch (you know the one, that floral print with brown and orange and gold colors) sitting on her front porch which gets every bit of weather we get. Snow, rain, blistering sun. Why she planted blue spruce trees in her front yard but then didn’t water them so they are about 1 foot high and dead as a door nail. I’d like to ask why her kids have 50 bikes laying around the yards and why she doesn’t have the kids help her with all these unfinished projects. I’ll never ask though and I’ll always smile and wave, because I know her husband was working in the front yard one day after they first bought the house and an adult student driver hit the gas instead of the break and struck her husband, killing him on the spot. I can only imagine that she has very good intentions of fixing up the house. She starts a project, gets overwhelmed and gives up. My heart breaks for her. I know other neighbors have offered to help and she won’t accept it. It’s a sad situation:(

When my DD was little we used to take our dog for a walk around the neighbourhood around this time of year to spot Christmas wreaths and ‘Santa please stop here’ yard signs, Valentines wreaths, St Patrick’s day and Easter decorations!! IMHO if you have time to hang a wreath on your front door, you have time to take it down again afterwards. But each to their own excuses.

I'd like to ask them when the hell they are going to either a)fix their damn truck alarm that goes off randomly or b)stop giving the keys to their kid to play with - hence the alarm going off.
My money is on b - it never goes off middle of the night, only early morning, and during the day. SO freaking annoying!!

SMH What?! That's awful! Can you call animal control? People should not be allowed to have animals willy nilly! I wonder why my neighbors up the street have four filled trashcans (and sometimes more) weekly. There are two adults in the house with pretty serious full-time jobs (out of the house a lot). How on earth can they fill up those trashcans? My three kids and I fill up one, but we do recycle. Even so, that's a lot of weekly trash. What is in there? But mostly - absolutely mostly - I want to ask my next-door-neighbors why they allow their four little girls (ages 5-12) to ride up and down our street on bikes with no helmets. The father is a medical professional!

I would love to ask the neighbors across the street why they have 3 Lexuses and a full size Ford truck and only 2 drivers. 2 of the Lexuses are the same except different colors, the other one is a SUV. All the vehicles parked on the street. They are a middle aged to older couple with no children. He is disabled and does not work, she works from home. For the last five years I have run every possible scenario through my head to figure this out. It’s clearly none of my business, but inquiring minds want to know. lol - I imagine our neighbours have similar questions....we have 3 pickup trucks, a Mini Cooper, and a Ford Flex lined up in front of our house and a project Mustang in the car port - and only ONE driver. BUT one pickup truck belongs to DS who is stationed in Japan with the Navy, one belongs to DD-almost18 who still hasn't taken a driving test (sigh), and the other was late FILs and now DH's - and we use when we need to haul stuff to the dump or pick up appliances/furniture/mulch etc... The Mini Cooper is DH's commuter car (good mileage) and DD is learning to drive on it. The Flex is the family car (more roomy, more comfortable) for road trips or taking GS camping etc...

With my RA and my husband's knee issues, I've learned over the years to just ask for help. Luckily our network of friends and neighbors are always there to help. Personally as long as the lights are not turned on, I don't care if a neighbor leaves them on the house year-round.

I don't have questions for the neighbors, but for the town code enforcement officer. Why is it that the 2 hoarders down the street can do whatever they want with abandon, but the rest of us neighbors get fines when lavender plants lean over the sidewalk or we didn't clear 36 inches of snow within 12 hours? The lovely couple living next to one hoarder cannot sell their house because of their neighbor.
Talking about Christmas wreaths, one hoarder has all the holidays represented year round. At Christmas, there were Christmas and Halloween lights twirling on the side of the house.

I would love to know why my neighbors get packages every single day. The angel on my shoulder tells me the wife works from home and they are job-related. The devil on my shoulder tells me one of them is a QVC addict with a hummel collection. It's sad that I don't know them well enough to know what they do for a living we've lived next to them for 8 years. If they are outside when I'm walking by they either go inside or run to the backyard.

Then when they put the line down the street you just don't connect it to your house. We all could afford to have it linked up. It was a free service the gas company was offering. You can still have electricity in your house. Just don't wreck it for the rest of the neighbours who might have wanted it. She didn't want the noise on the street. She walked into my house the day my mother died demanding to know how she was. My father's exact words were "get her the fuck out of here."

I've know of apartments with electric baseboard heat, but I've never known anybody who had it for a house. The apartments cost a lot more to heat than gas did
