I'm all about dresses. I like a lot of color and I think dresses give me the chance to play around with different colors and patterns.

I usually wear capris and a casual-dressy shirt (not tees, but something that could be dressed up or down). I haven’t found many tees that look good on me.
Last year I was trying to get more comfortable wearing shorts, at least for hot baseball tournaments. I hadn’t worn shorts in public in years. Partly because I can’t wear them to work and partly because I feel like my legs have too much cellulite and just look lumpy. I also thought shorts were for younger people, but some of the other moms wear them and look good so I am over that idea. Lol. Sometimes I will wear an athletic skirt to a game or a casual skirt to work. I would love more dresses but don’t feel like they look good on me.

I never wear shorts. I just don’t find them flattering on me. I wear a lot of skirts in the summer. The skirts I wear most often are from here- www.haystacks.netMost are reversible. I was at a swim meet and a mom (with a mom figure) was wearing one and it was very flattering. I swear there were at least 5 or 6 moms who complimented her and within a couple weeks we were all wearing them. 😜 These are great because they don’t have a fitted waistband so if you lose weight you can continue to wear them. I also wear shorts under them cuz that how I roll. Those skirts are super cute! I find it weird that the website doesn't have any pictures of people wearing them - only skirts floating in the air. LOL. I thought that as well. I even googled and searched Pinterest and didn’t find any pics of someone wearing them.

i think shorts lengths depend on your legs i never gain any weight in my legs - and they are on the long side i don't like bermuda shorts on me - 8-10 inseam 4 inches seems to work better as long as they aren't really tight i just found this and it looks really useful a guide to shortsi like tunic style tops - and if it's a tshirt it has to be a vneck i wear vans, converse, and flip flops all summer i spend a lot of time on the weekends at drag strips so my uniform is black shorts, a dark tshirt/tank, and tennis shoes (track stickiness will pull a flip flop right off your foot)

Someone here turned me on to capri leggings. I bought a bunch on amazon and I wear those and a tunic. Otherwise I wear regular capris and a tunic or shirt.

Lots of loose natural fiber clothes, especially linen, linen cotton blends, and lighter weight cotton (eyelet, chambray, voile, gauze). Long loose tunic tops over cotton leggings. Maxi skirts with thinner knit tops. Jeans with peasant or other loose airy boho style tops. No synthetics or synthetic blends outside of moisture wicking activewear. Only things that breathe or drape around the body.

this is pretty much my standard summer work wardrobe (we're a pretty casual office) and shorts / tee shirts or sleeveless / tank tops when I'm off work. If you don't like your legs all that much, maybe you could consider wearing skirts with sandals or flats? I have a couple very lightweight cotton, floaty-type skirts that are a bit longer than knee-length (I wear them with knit tops). A skirt makes me feel a little more 'put together' but they're still very cool. I do agree about the shorts- living in AZ, there's no way I could survive all summer without wearing shorts-- my legs are kind of short, so wearing longer shorts would 'cut me off' visually and make my legs even stumpier looking. Trust me, no one cares all that much what other people look like when it's 110F outside! (more to the point, I guess I don't really care what they think about how I look in shorts or tank tops- my arms aren't great, either, but personal comfort trumps my vanity.) ETA: I personally will NOT wear peasant tops- I'm curvy and short, with a larger bust and a small waist-- peasant tops are NOT flattering on me, in the LEAST. I have to wear tops that have a shape to them. I buy most of my clothes at Goodwill, since my weight fluctuates a lot I don't want to spend a lot of money on things that I won't wear for very long- but I buy a lot of my tee-shirts at Kohls. Just the basic colors, in a V-neck or scoop-neck style. Kohls also usually has a few styles / colors of skorts, too.

i hate shorts. i used to be big on capris and still wear them occasionally but now prefer either a-line skirts, "flirty" skirts (like this: tulip skirt) or casual dresses. i have some spider veins on my upper thighs and so i am pretty picky about length. i really hate shorts.

I wear lots of dresses in the summer. I also wear capris and casual tops a lot. I have several long tunics that I wear w/ capri leggings.
Around the house, I wear capri leggings and t shirts, but I rarely go out of the house dressed like that unless I'm going on my daily walk or heading out to my yoga class.

I wear a lot of skirts and dresses in the summer. I don’t like myself in shorts but skirts seem to be more flattering.

I have lots of casual summer dresses and I wear them most days. They are cool and comfortable. If it's a cooler day I can wear leggings under them. If not they are good all by themselves. I have about 8-10 of them. I wear shorts a lot and I also have many pairs of capris. I have a couple of summer skirts (Lululemon) and some tops. I need to get some more tops that fit me.

Texan here and summer clothes have to be cool! I find skirts the most flattering and functional! Athleta skirts with built in shorts are my ‘uniform’. I also have 3 denim pencil skirts - white, medium blue with fraying, and a dark dressier denim color. All the skirts hit at the knee or just above. Then I can dress them up or down with te top I choose.
My croc wedge sandals are the most comfy and can be rinsed off if I get them dirty. Love them!

I'm in Florida so tank tops, but I'm old with ugly legs so only wear long pants out of consideration for others. I have short sleeve shirts to wear over then when needed, like strong air conditioning.

I love the Lands End polo and t-shirt dresses. I also love skorts from Athleta and Eddie Bauer.

Well my office is an ice box no matter what time of year it is, but I also walk to and from work so I have to plan accordingly. I usually keep a cardigan at work during the summer to wear when I get chilly.
Otherwise I wear shorts with tank tops , dresses, maxi dresses. I find capris to be incredibly unflattering, they are either too short and look awkward or too long and look like my pants shrunk in the wash.
