Thanks to all of my pea pickin' friends. I truly appreciate your concerns and well wishes. This is why I am so proud to be a part of the crafting community. I think what happened was a build up of sludge in my gutter. The downspout is of a regular size but, the gutter hole is only 1" round. The gutter actually filled to capacity and over flowed. Because the studio doesn't have a soffit, the gutter is attached to the siding and the water goes over the top plate of the wall. I think I have curtailed the problem with a tall gutter strainer. I have decided to just toss all the damaged items and buy new as needed when needed. I will get past this easily. I think I lost about $25 of material, no completed or in progress projects. No tools or equipment were lost. The only problem is my stamp index book got soaked, so I may have to remake it ... about 600 stamps. Shouldn't take more than a 3 or 4 months.

Thank goodness you were able to fix the problem. Sorry to hear about your stamp index. I have all my images cataloged and I can’t imagine having to redo that.

I am really sorry, Don! That would be really upsetting!
At least it sounds like you didn't lose too much. The stamp index book would be a bit of a pain to have to make again, though.

Yikes! Stupid clogged gutters! I’m glad to hear it wasn’t too big of a loss. A stamp index sounds like something I might need...bummer you have to start fresh though. ☹️

I'm so sorry to hear about your space, Don!! We all can relate and have our own unique crafty fears of water. Glad the loss was pretty minimal, apart from your stamp index book. We can promise to enable you in repurchasing anything if you'd like!

Don,
Thank you for the update. I was worried about you. I am glad the monetary damage was minimal. I wish I was closer to help you with your stamp index.

I'm so happy it wasn't worse. Although losing your stamp index is a pain. I hope you can salvage it.

Suggestion since you already have to redo the project: scan the images as you stamp each page so you have a more permanent back up. If you don't have an inventory system in place it serves double duty just in case something worse happens.
I am sorry you lost such a time consuming project but am relieved to hear you didn't lose anything of significant monetary or sentimental value.

(((hugs))) Glad no one was hurt & the damage was minimal.
Please tell us more about the ~600 stamps. How long have you collected them? Do you create stamp art, mixed media, incorporate on scrap layouts, etc? How do you store them? Are they wood-mounted or unmounted, rubber or clear, or all? Do you prefer certain genres (eg florals, geometrics), types (eg backgrounds), or manufacturers? I can understand how an index is helpful & hope you enjoy the collection for years to come.
Best wishes replacing the tossed items & recreating the stamp index!

I'm glad you didn't lose any projects, but the stamp index is definitely a loss.
