Besides fields of lavender, good wine, and not too hot/not too cold weather, what's on your Provence Scrap Retreat bucket list?

Oh man, Provence is one of my favorite places in the world. The fruit is some of the best I’ve ever had. And the food in general is rustic yet amazing.
You also can’t beat the scenery. Everywhere you turn is postcard perfect.
There are so many great B&Bs, too.

How about an outdoor landscape painting class? We could all wear big hats, bring a picnic, set up our easels, and pretend like we are Impressionists.
We have a Van Gogh reproduction of sunny fields in our dining room that my FIL painted. I want to go there!

Well, you did say bucket list so..... DAVID GANDY!!!!!! I started it, lol. I don't think I could do a retreat in Provence. I would be too busy exploring. The architecture alone would make me go "Retreat??? What retreat?" No bringing husbands. I love my husband. All of you that have known me for years know he's my best friend and my world. He can't come to Provence, lol. He would even tell all of you girls "French men are her bucket list!"

Cheese. All the French cheese. And some bread to eat with it. Of course we need a guided tour led by our own sleepingbootyOther than that, you ladies have pretty much covered all I can think of, apart from the Peas themselves.

Well it wouldn't be a retreat without sleepingbooty. But it can't be all work for her! I already said on another post I'd love to catch a glimpse of the French President. I don't think I want to scrap much. Maybe just one evening we can put together some kind of memorabilia page or something.

Just let me nap on an oversized hammock under a shady tree, and wake me with delicious food.

DH and I went on a hiking trip there BC (before children).
Had lunch at a monastery garden. Went to Vaucluse and Gordes and Gigondas. I would do any/all of it again! Add a bit of scrapping somewhere and a chance to meet my Peafriends and man - HEAVEN!

We would have to have a La Fermiere yogurt eating workshop to free up some of those pretty pots for our craft rooms!

Sounds like a wonderful time: good friends, good food, good wine, beautiful location... If it is billed as a scrapbookers' retreat, I would like some photography tips so I can get photos of the friends, food, wine and backdrops. And a full size printer right there. Maybe we could all build one of those books with the folds and pockets--like the Heartfelt Creations ones, print and add the photos while we build it, and come home with a beautiful momento of our time together.

I don't think I'd really want to crop, other than the fabulous ideas here (memento book and impressionist painting class). I'd just want to sight see and relax and eat good food and drink yummy wine and be with the peas.

I'm in! LOL I haven't spent any time in that part of France since I was a kid. I could at least help sleepingbooty with any translation needs. I'd love to just go for a walk in the hillsides.

Aww, look at this thread. Maybe we'll have our retreat one day! It could also be fun to do quick rounds to keep up with photos, memories and memorabilia (quick edit, writing down the events of the day) in the evenings and then scrap them in a TN/mini album at the end of the week. @zingermack Which monastery did you visit? I love Ganagobie, personally. The Verdon Gorge is a canyon river with turquoise waters in the Alps of Provence. We took some foreign friends travelling through the region for six days, going from east to west. They loved it. You go from the luxurious Riviera side to the end where it's less touristy, less expensive. We left from the Mediterranean Sea in Nice, went up into the lower Alps and then travelled back down to the Calanques around Cassis and Marseille. The Calanques are a protected natural region so they're not built, unlike the eastern side of the Riviera. My parents sail and have their boat here so this is always a nice way to take friends out into the Mediterranean itself. Avignon is another must-visit, especially the Palais des Papes (palace of the popes), to better understand the history of the region, its importance and its dependence towards Rome (and then France). The Palais des Papes is also the biggest gothic construction of the Middle Ages, very impressive to visit. If you ever visit here during the Festival d'Avignon, do book a ticket and go see an opera in the courtyard. There's nothing like it. The atmosphere in the streets is electrifying and fun too. Here's my favourite winery in the region. Tipsy vineyard visit with la Booty!

I actually dreamt about this retreat a couple of nights ago. Lets make this dream a reality! (sorry)
I have always wanted to see Provence, it looks so beautiful. Love the idea of exploring and doing and making a TN/mini album at the end, that's my kind of scrapping.
Would we (yes, I said we, this quiet weird person who doesn't talk a lot is coming too, sorry) travel from place to place or would we find somewhere as a base and go to and from from there? I have to think of the practicalities.
Wine and cheese, please.

@zingermack Which monastery did you visit? I love Ganagobie, personally. I wouldn't have remembered, but luckily the hiking company still does the same trip - 15 years later :*) It was Sénanque Abbey. Gorgeous. The most wonderful trip. Also did St. Remy, the asylum where Van Gogh resided for a while....I'm getting sick just thinking how much I'd like to go again. Hope we can make this work sometime. I think we'd have near-illegal levels of fun.

A quick 36 hours on a stopover in Paris is all I've experienced of France and I love to travel so all these pictures and videos are not helping my wanderlust. I'm not a drinker though so someone is going to have to drink my share of the wine.

I love the the idea of a yogurt eating workshop!

So I am thinking a three week retreat where the first two and a half weeks are just exploring and taking pictures. The last three days are filled with putting pictures on premade layouts that elves were making at the end of every day of our trip. Then we all go home with a large completed book.

I'm not sure this is a French brand of Tequila. www.quitequila.com/ ETA: But I can't find any, so that could work, right?

our attorney was also our friend and neighbor. he would always say that he, his wife, DH and me should spend a month in Provence, riding bikes, eating good food, just enjoying the land. it was one of his dream trips. then he died of cancer at the age of 44. needless to say, when people mention Provence, i think of it with a little sadness knowing that we never got to go there with him. someday we would still like to. we have been to Tuscany and it was amazing and beautiful.

I don't think we're known for growing enough agave to make tequila... But hey, we make decent vodka from grapes (oh, the blasphemy)! @millefeuilles Mais tu vas perdre la nationalité si tu continues à dire que tu ne manges pas de fromage... Fais gaffe, ma Mille. On peut pas te perdre. *dans mes bras* I'm not a drinker though so someone is going to have to drink my share of the wine. papersilly Sorry to hear your friend passed away so young and didn't get to achieve his bucket list dream trip(s). It's a chilling reminder to make the best of what we have right now rather than dream of one day and wait. @zingermack Sénanque is beautiful too! I haven't been there in a few years, come to think of it. I just told my SO we should rent a car and drive up this spring. There are plenty of archeological sites inside old towns to see as well, like Vaison-La-Romaine shown below.
