I like the translucent look of the nuvo dew drops. I’m going to get more of those.

I like the translucent look of the nuvo dew drops. I’m going to get more of those. The Jewel ones? They work really well on white but on black they don't show any colour at all. So if you're going to use them on any colour other than white, give it a try first and let it dry cause I'm sure when you put them on black they look great, but they dry and just look clear which is disappointing!

Kiwigirl, your post makes me want to purchase all the Nuvos! Thank you for your post and pictures!
I love the colorful pops, even if they flattened a little sometimes!

gorgeous layouts and tips, as always, kiwigirl! I still haven't tried the two colors of Nuvo drops I got, yet, but I'm getting some really good ideas for how to use them from you, and they don't seem quite so scary any more. I like how you use them for borders... have you ever tried to swirl two colors together to get a 'marbled' look to them?? Since they're self-leveling, would they level out after swirling two colors together in one dot with a toothpick, I wonder?

I’d like to get a few more bottles of Nuevo drops. Anyone got colour recommendations? Sorry for not answering sooner anniefb, I saw your post but I was on my dumb tablet in bed and I hate typing on that thing so I waited till morning to reply. My most used colours are definitely black & white (black can be a bit of a tricky one to use though, I've been through about 3 bottles of it now and they've always been slightly runnier than other colours, and it does make them harder to use so it's probably not a good beginner colour but it is a handy colour once you've got used to using them). Then Caribbean Ocean, Carnation Pink, Dandelion Yelllow are definitely my most used colours. But then I am a bright & colourful scrapper. I also use English Mustard, Rhubarb Crumble , Apple Green and Morning Dew which is the clear one. Jewel colours, I use Limoncello, Seabreeze, Rosewater and Key Lime the most. The Glitter Drops, I so far use White Blizzard, Sunlit Meadow, Blue Lagoon and Aquatic Mist. The glow in the dark ones I have and have never touched! So I think a good broad base of colours to get would be Caribbean Ocean, Carnation Pink (don't be fooled by Party Pink, it's quite dark & dull IRL), Dandelion Yellow, Apple Green, Navy Blue (or Double Denim), Morning Dew and White Blizzard.

Thanks so much for the recommendations kiwigirl. Am off to Mt Wellington today and will pop into Memory Crafts which is the only half decent shop for craft things in Auckland now. When I was last there I noticed they had quite a good range of various drops.

This is a blatant self promotion! But I just did a large DT blog post all about Nuvo Crystal Drops. I have seen a lot of you talk about them here and I put so much work into this blog post that if anyone is slightly interested in Nuvos, please pop over and have a read. Or just look at the LO's! Here is my June post, More Nuvo Tips & Techniques I don't get anything for getting people to click the link or anything, I just put a load of work into that blog post and I really want to share it with people who are interested in Nuvos (cause if you're not, it's probably really, really boring!). I did a post last September all about Nuvos as well. Nuvo Crystal Drops, the good, the bad & the ugly! There I tell you how to unclog the bottles and what can go wrong. I have seen people share the link to that post on here before and I was so flippen chuffed! All that work paid off cause people are reading it and sharing it which is why I did it! So thank you to anyone who has shared that link, I appreciate it so much! I love Nuvos, they're one of my favourite products ever! I discovered a cool technique to make the black & white border on this LO for this months post! Love this! Beautiful layout! Has anyone figured out how to get the Nuvo Pearl Drops to keep their shape? Mine always flatten out, and look more like enamel dots lol

Love this! Beautiful layout! Has anyone figured out how to get the Nuvo Pearl Drops to keep their shape? Mine always flatten out, and look more like enamel dots lol When you're dotting, do you touch the nozzle to the paper? That can make the dots go flat or drop in the middle like a donut (mmmmmm, donuts!). When I dot I sort of hover over the paper and squeeze out a blob, then sort of drop the blob to the paper so my nozzle doesn't touch. Then if I need the dot bigger, I squeeze some more. Usually I just pull the bottle away then, it might leave a point but that will go away. It does seem to depend on the bottle sometimes too. When I'm doing a multi-colour border I notice that sometimes one colour will be much flatter than others so maybe I'll give that colour more of a swirl to get the dome on it. Some bottles will be a bit more runny than others for some reason and it is a bit random, I've had more than one bottle of the same colour and one might be a bit thinner and runnnier and the other bottle will be nice and thick and make awesome domes.

I might need to make a visit there too... SaveSave
