I read At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon. I'm late to the Mitford party, but found it to be a sweet read.
I also finished Where Lilacs Still Bloomby Jane Kirkpatrick. It's Christian Historical Fiction (although very light on the Christian part) about a German immigrant to Southwest Washington State, who cultivated lilacs and, ultimately, started a lilac farm that is still open to tour.
Lastly, I finished Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. Wonderfully written and incredibly absorbing. I've heard good things about her second book as well, I'll keep an eye out for it.

I would also recommend Shantaram - excellent book. I bought the sequel (The Mountain Shadow) but haven't read it yet - I am undecided about whether to reread Shantaram first - I read it 8 years ago and am sure I have forgotten a lot of it. I'm impressed you got through Shantaram, I've been reading it on my kindle for like 2 years, I love it, but I can't get through it!! My book club read it and I don't think a single person finished it.... Ha - it took me a long time to read Shantaram which is why I am undecided about rereading it and haven't read the sequel yet.

This week I finished Us Against You the sequel to Beartown. I really liked it and it was well worth the wait.

I started The Story Girl by LM Montgomery I've never read it but watched all the Road to Avonlea shows when I was a kid. I can just picture the actors. And the scenes, not specifically, it's been years since I've seen it, but just generally. scrappyesq if you you still love dinosaurs and ever take a holiday to Alberta not only are we famous for Banff and Jasper National Parks with their majestic mountains but we have dinosaurs! Drumheller has the Royal Tyrrell Museum and Grande Prairie has the Philip J Currie Dinosaur Museum. lesley I started to read They Left Us Everything then stopped and thought it would be good for our book club. I've had it in my pile of books for awhile now. birukitty The Room on Rue Amaelie was very good. The ending is a little whirlwind. I'll check out that Alice Hoffman book, I've only read Faithful.

Lastly, I finished Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. Wonderfully written and incredibly absorbing. I've heard good things about her second book as well, I'll keep an eye out for it. I have been wanting to read "Little Fires Everywhere" but realized I should first read the book I already have by the same author to see if I even like her writing style. I started the book after reading your post and finished it early this morning. I do like it! Thanks! I also read Still Me, The Great Alone and Happily Ever After, the last book in the Selection series. I enjoyed all of them.

Read two this week: "The High Tide Club" a new book by Mary Kay Andrews and "Between Husbands and Friends" by Nancy Thayer.
Both were Chick Lit/Beach Read type books but both had a good storyline with a bit more substance and held my attention. I enjoyed them both.

I’m also reading THE ROOM ON RUE AMELIE by KRISTEN HARMEL and I’m finding it to be very strong. Interesting characters, story and good writing so far.
