Thank you for posting this, jenji. When I first saw the thread title, I mistook it to mean that Donna won her battle w/cancer. My prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Oh my gosh. Mason's words are so beautiful. Than you for posting this. And Donna, I hope you're still singing and dancing in the stars I watched all week. Twinkling away and shining back on the people you love.

Here’s what I wrote to go with some of your lovely, thoughtful posts. I’ll try to send it sometime next week.
Adam, Mason, and Austin,
If you didn’t know about Donna’s online friends at the 2peas scrapbooking website before, you surely did after the shipment of scrapbook pages arrived. That project was unprecedented. Never before have so many of our friends come together in such a way. I hope it helps you see just how beloved Donna was among our group. She only recently learned how to post photos to our board, and the one thing that struck us all in each picture she shared was that smile of hers. It started in her eyes and stretched from ear to ear.
Jesus welcomed my husband home three years before Donna heard her “well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of thy Lord.” Like Donna, my Fred was given an unbelievably short prognosis. The Lord met us so personally and powerfully during that time, and he’s continued to meet me in the time since. Donna and I began to talk on a deeper level because I knew hope from someone who’s walked the path you were all facing would be helpful.
I made a promise to Donna, as you will read. I’d like to share with you what I shared with our “pea” friends, as well as some of their expressions of love and sympathy. Mason, I hope you don’t mind that I shared what you said about your mom on Facebook. We were moved by your beautiful words.
Donna was so proud of her men. She was glad to spend another anniversary and birthdays with you, the ones she loved most.
I pray this blesses you.

Jen, thank you. That was beautiful, I hope it brings a smile to her boys and her husband, knowing that Donna was so loved and respected by us all. Obviously we don’t share the same grief that they do, but hopefully knowing that people beyond their family will remember and miss her will bring them comfort.

Everything that has been updated is beautiful. It shows the spirit and caring that bonds this crazy site together.
To her son Mason....what you wrote is beautiful. Nothing in my life is as rewarding as being a mother. I love my husband and our marriage and it is held in the highest of importance, but what you wrote about being a mama’s boy is what makes my heart the lightest. It brought a tear to my eye just reading that. Somewhere in heaven it brought a smile to your mama’s face!!
Prayers and love to all of Donna’s boys!!

I don’t post here all that often and over the last months it was mostly to check in on Donna and other Peas who were sick or hurting. This place is amazing in that way. People here really try to support others.
Dear Donna fought so hard and faced her illness with such courage. Her love for her husband and sons gave her such strength. Given the gravity of the situation, she made reasonable goals and reached them all. Her most fervent wish seemed to be that her boys be happy and find love.
Mason’s words were lovely and made me cry. My heart breaks for this family. However, Donna, being the wife and mother that she is, prepared them well for her passing and even though I am not as religious as some, I feel confident that she is happy and pain free with her dear Lord.
My condolences to all who loved and knew Donna. She will be missed here.

Her son's words spoke volumes about the wonderful, compassionate and strong mother that was Donna.
