I’ve been thinking of sending an email to the company itself about my concerns. I thought about commenting on the posts themselves, but Becky is going to be the one who sees that and get very defensive about whatever it is that I say. But if I email customer service, then Wendy will get the email. And she seems a lot more reasonable. Maybe she would pass it on. Or really I just someone else in that company to know that Be My is super out of touch. But seriously, Becky felt the need to write that long post because two or three people expressed concern on the previous post. She needs a thicker skin. No offense but she kind of is the head honcho, being that she’s Becky higgins and the brand is Becky Higgins. What would the outcome of emailing Wendy really even look like? Becky isn’t selling anything by her own choice. I say let her keep spouting off her way. I mean she’s selling a class-just don’t buy it. She has a podcast with advertisers-don’t listen. You can’t force her to sell a product she has no interest in selling.

You know, I went over to look at her acct. If you look, all the posts w/high interaction (likes & comments) are the drama queen ones. All the product ones are anemic. I think that's why BH can't help herself on posting the guru/faith/life-coach posts. They're the ones that get the engagement and goose her stats.
So, girlfriend isn't going to stop anytime soon.
If only her product posts would get more interaction. But BH is gonna go where the money is, and the money on her account is in the drama - kind of like a Real Housewives reality show.

And apparently it was important enough to "work" on the Sabbath. To be fair, it was General Conference weekend. I know when I was active LDS, it was a much more relaxing time. Even if you were watching a total of at least four hours of church stuff. You are in your pajamas, lounging around, maybe playing a little conference Bingo (to keep the kids watching), or falling asleep during the talks. Not that I ever did such a thing.
It used to be (until this year) three hours of church every week. Not including some weeks having to attend meetings, collect fast offerings, and other church stuff. You also dress up for church. Skirts and dresses for women. White shirts and ties for men.
I can see why she posted but she probably should have remembered what she's told her followers in the past; because it still is the Sabbath.

I gave her a pass for those posts. But she made a big post lecturing about what her IG was and was not on Sunday.

Oh my gosh, really Becky??!!??
Have you gals seen her last few IG posts?
One was about why photos and memories are important, and one was about how often your fur babies are included in your albums and layout.
I have concluded that 1. She most definitely reads this thread and 2. Maybe she is realizing that she needs to save her career and brand by actually, oh I don't know, posting about memory keeping ?
Dude...
Oh and I don't need to cultivate my life sweetie. I don't need to acquire falsehood or fakeness or make a perfect life. So you can continue to create a false fantasy while I continue to live a normal, happy life that isn't full of fluff and fake tears of "joy". I have real joy. Not made up wana be joy.

And its also interesting that her fan girls post a ton on her cultivated fake posts but not on the every day or crafty posts.
And...she is still not answering posts about PL and actual product, which is HER BUSINESS, but will go off when others question her authenticity and business practices.
Girl wake up, you are driving your business into the ground

Becky uses her Instagram to tell (lecture) us about having a good life and others (like Heidi) show us product and uses that showcase our "good life". I think Becky forgets that Instagram is ultimately a visual method of communicating and she should save her lectures for her podcast.

I'm super busy at the moment so not able to keep up with all the Becky-nanigans but I did manage to listen to the latest episode of my fave ex-Mormon atheist podcast this morning while getting ready and got some interesting inside facts on the mission of proselytising in the LDS Church. The General Conference of last weekend literally told the LDS members to "be relentless" in their pursuit of spreading the gospel of the Mormon Church. One of the podcasters quoted this exact line from the Conference: "Hound them. Throw your arms around their neck and kiss them." These ex-Mormon podcasters all agreed it isn't getting better, on the contrary. They also explained how Mormons are trained to ignore social clues when spreading the Mormon word and that as ex-Mormons, they now often have to bring down the preemptive hammer hard (they all still live in Utah). Mormons are trained to not hear: "I'm not interested, no thanks." It doesn't matter how many times you repeat it. 🙁 In light of this, I think the Peas' admirable efforts to try and speak some sense into Becky on social media are in vain and not worth pursuing in the future. I think it's really wonderful you ladies have spoken up. But considering the years of absolute deafness from BH as well as this information from the General Conference, it is energy spent on a lost cause. Becky "Liza Lorene Claire" Higgins is trained not to hear you and has been reinforced in her mission to proselytise even more relentlessly with the Church's latest message to their members. Sometimes, it's better to just let it go and, instead, use the time and energy to assess your own balance of values, views and needs when it comes to where you'll spend your scrappy dollars in the future. It's ok to let Becky Higgins "LLC" drill herself into the ground. You are not here to save all scrap brands and celebrities. This is *not* your mission. Love and ✌️.

It doesn't matter how many times you repeat it. 🙁 Not with Becky, but I have learned from many years of trying to fend off door to door Mormons that saying “sorry, I’m Jewish” is like the magic word, they just say “have a nice day” and go on their way. Tell them you’re not interested or atheist and they just keep trying, but for some reason Judaism shuts them down.

Agree sleepingbooty the harder you defy her attempts to preach at you, the harder she’ll preach. It’s her life and business. If she wants to run it into the ground, it’s her prerogative.

Swearing will just make them pray for you right in your porch. Then again she did also have the balls to stick her foot in my door as I closed it after saying a polite ‘no thank you’. Her foot in my door got me swearing and she then just began praying for my ‘damned’ soul. The next week I had learned my lesson & didn’t open the door

I don't even understand what her business is anymore. What is she even selling? Seems like all of her followers are LDS fangirls.
Although I enjoy reading this thread I find her to be irrelevant in the industry at this point. The only product that I would still consider buying from her is page protectors but I have a huge stash of them stock piled. There are too many other great people/companies that I would rather support even if she turned this around.

Very curious about the Jewish thing... I used to be much ruder (and wanted to be even ruder than I was) but I read about how the mission is actually part of the process - I read an article posted here last year about how they know getting new followers by going door to door is unlikely, but it works really well at cementing the beliefs in these kids by having them defend and justify them day after day. So any engagement helps them dig in their heels a little harder and believe a little more that everyone hates them and the world is going to shit. I also don't like being rude to people, even if they're being rude to me by knocking on my door. I just say "we're not interested" before they can say anything and quickly close the door. It used to be a lot harder, when I lived in Japan - they would strike up a "friendly conversation" on the train and it was a giant pain in the ass to avoid them or get away from them. BTW a friend of a friend tried scaring them away by opening the door as she was at the time, heavily pregnant and completely naked. Didn't work. They still got into the usual long debate. I agree about letting BH do what she's going to do. She doesn't want our advice. Maybe we need to start building up a good list of ways to do PL in a post BH/physical PL world.

Her foot in my door got me swearing and she then just began praying for my ‘damned’ soul. The next week I had learned my lesson & didn’t open the door Oddly enough, I had some older people knock on my door not that long ago. I'm uber polite, so I hate to slam doors in people's faces (plus the concern that it will anger people and encourage vandalism or a break in) but it has happened enough that I really don't care anymore. I have a no soliciting sign on my door (which to me should by default include religion) and people ignore it constantly...most start off by saying they aren't selling anything, it's free (you know, alarm companies give you devices and install at no charge but you pay a monthly fee for the service and have to be in a contract for so many years...which IS IN FACT, contrary to what they believe, solicitation). Anyway, these older people trying to sell me on their religion knocked on the door....I say older because they were probably in their 40's or 50's and I'm used to young kids...the woman was front and center and completely in charge. The guy who was with her stood several steps behind her and said nothing. I told her I was an atheist, proud of it and had no interest in religion whatsoever. The guy behind her just nodded in an uncomfortable 'let's get out of here before she beats us up' kind of way while the lady continued to talk thinking I would stand there and listen. As soon as I said my piece of not being interested, I closed the door in her face. I'm gonna guess that finding new recruits to gain tithes from isn't what the man behind her was suited for and was placed somewhere else in the church, lol.
I've had some other assholes knocking on my door, too...just not religious people. One guy who was donating part of his proceeds to a military charity knocked on the door insisting I needed to drop everything and pay him right that minute to paint my house number on the curb. He acted like I was the rude one for politely declining his services and got really pissed off at me as he escalated his pitch. Felt no guilt slamming the door on that guy's face, that's for sure. Something tells me he doesn't handle being turned down at the bar for a one night stand really well, either.
ETA: I have a security door and I never open it...so fortunately, no one can stop me from slamming the door on them.

I tell them that I have family members who are LDS, and if I ever have any questions, I go to them. (The first part is true. The second part is not. I never have questions that I would ever want them to answer!) Nonetheless, it works perfectly every time. They are always so happy for me that I have a connection already and they move on. Maybe they are told not to step on other people's connections?

She recently posted a question that implied she felt that digital scrapbooking was the only way of the world. I DM'd her and told her that, with respect, I hope she didn't put too much stock into the answer she would get by asking that question on social media. Because many of the people who are still buying up physical product don't use social media. There is a HUGE demographic out there who completely eschew things like the digital side of scrapbooking, IG and Twitter. So in order to get a real look at what scrapbookers really want, perhaps she shouldn't be asking the question only on social media. She replied back with a curt, "I know that." And then in her next story she sounded quite annoyed and said, "Guys, I was only asking a question to be curious. It doesn't MEAN anything."

I keep hoping AC will step in and force Becky to make changes or buy her out and continue the PL brand without her. I know a lot of Peas are not a fan of AC but in this case I think it's in AC's best interest to remove Becky Higgins from PL so customers' needs are being met.

Not to mention people who utilize social media are more likely to use the save/memory portion of thier social media to ‘record thier life & document it’ no other documentation needed. IG, Snap both have memory functions if you choose to use it and FB IS a digital timeline of your life. I know plenty of people who stopped scrapping when they took up FB. FB can even make you account a legacy account after you die if you name a legacy contact ( which I did ) so your all documented aftervyour death.

I stopped following Amy Tan a while ago. I couldn’t take the influencer crap and she wasn’t scrapbooking anyway. Out of the blue she sends an email/newsletter. New release of scrapbook stuff. She jumped the shark for me a while ago. Wonder if she’s feeling the pinch of leaving her core scrapbooking fans to chase influencer celebrity?
ETA: On Topic - feels like the direction Becky is headed.
