I was looking at my childhood scrapbook and found the name and date of the bracelet I had worn. I remembered the name but not the date. I went online today and found the name on the virtual wall and that he is presumed to be dead. It also showed his picture and some other info. I felt so sad looking at it but feel closure as I have often wondered what happened to him.
Anyone else wear one of the bracelets?

I wore one and have checked online a couple of times. Both times it said they could not find a record of him. I'm not sure what that means.

I wore one too and still remember his name. My grandmothers maiden name was the same as his last name but as far as we know our families were not related. The last time I looked him up he was still listed as MIA but presumed dead. I'm so thankful my Dad's name was never on a bracelet. He came home safe but many of his friends didn't. Every morning he read through the paper scanning the names while eating breakfast. I must say visiting the Vietnam Memorial is one of the most emotional moments of my life.

I still have mine. I remember hearing his name when they came home. I did look him up a few years ago after I found the bracelet in a box of stuff I've kept over the years. He died about ten years ago.

I had one, he was a member of our church. He came home after being a POW and retired as a Brigadier General. He was a POW from 1967 to 1973.

DH had one, but not until 1986, so it's still a thing. He wore it frequently until last year, when the remains were returned to American soil and he was buried at Arlington. DH tried to find out when the internment was, as we live in the DC area, but the information was private. But it's good to know that he is no longer MIA and his family was able to bury him.

Yes, I have one. Wore it for a long time. A few years ago I tried to find him via the Internet and found that his plane had been shot down and he was presumed dead. I found an organization and e-mailed them asking if his family would want his bracelet and he said no, because his remains had never been returned. I still have it.

I had one-all of the girls in my group in HS had one-My guy came home. Saw his picture in the paper, and still have it somewhere. One of my friends never heard about her guy, and wore her bracelet for years and years. She was upset when she had surgery during HS and had to take it off.

I don't know if his name was ever on a bracelet, but I have a friend who was a POW for 4 years. Obviously, he came home. He's an awesome guy!

I had Jeremiah Denton. He survived and went on to be a senator from Alabama.

I just want to say Jeremiah Denton is one of my heros! My cousin went to Auburn University with his grand daughter.

I had one and was talking to someone about it the other day because they were wearing something similar for a friend who was killed in Afghanistan. I've got to dig mine out and google the name.

I wear it most of the time, but I have a sore on my wrist right now so have had to take a break. I've had mine since the early 70's. I will wear it until he comes home. I remember there was some big to do about the brackets and we weren't allowed to get one.
But I am glad there are people who are not as closed minded as my parents.
