I didn't realize you could use the stars for food! I often just get regular or iced coffee, so I've used the stars for things like grande lattes. Nothing too crazy but more expensive than my usual.

I typically just upgrade the size from grande to venti. My typical order is a latte. I order it hot or iced, depending on the weather. It's a daily habit, especially during the work week, so I rack up the stars quickly.

You’re killing me. All those lattes just sitting there in you’re purse!! They are killing me too. I can't tell you how many gift cards I have received from Starbucks in my lifetime. No one in my family drinks it either. Going to Vegas with a few ladies on Saturday and will probably get breakfast there. Hope it is in the hotel. Get there early or order ahead from your app if they’re a regular store. The lines at Starbucks in Vegas are long! I use my rewards for the days I need an extra big coffee, or for a food item. Lately I’m hooked on the Bacon Cheddar Egg Bites. I could eat them every day if Starbucks food wasn’t so expensive.

Thanks for the great ideas. I never thought about food. Only thing about that is the birthday freebie is only on your birthday and we are getting together to eat, sot I probably won't want food. I thought before the freebie was anytime during that week or month, so i was surprised to read I had to use it on the day. I'm pretty sure I had a couple of days to use my bday reward back in January, but maybe they've changed the policy. I just get my regular, same drink with my freebie----Venti Strawberry Green Tea. Although this morning, I went crazy and got a Turkey Basil Pesto Panini for free. I deleted my email so I went to look what it said in their terms. It is on your birthday only. To qualify for the birthday Reward, you must join Starbucks Rewards at least seven (7) days before your birthday and have made at least one Star-earning transaction using your registered Starbucks Card. Your birthday Reward will be automatically added to your account on your birthday (that is, the birthday date of record that you provided in your Starbucks account information), and is valid only on that date. You must present your registered Starbucks Card to the barista at a participating store in order to redeem your Reward and receive your complimentary birthday item. You will receive only one (1) birthday Reward regardless of the number of Starbucks Cards that you have registered to your account.

I think I have gotten an extra shot in a frapachino - maybe change it up and have extra syrup - used to be able to get a mocha caramel now its one or the other but think you could on your birthday. I don't go often but when I get a free one I make sure it is large whatever I am getting. Lately I am boring and just get an iced latte as I don't want the calories and sugar.

I usually order a tall Caramel Macciatto skinny extra hot with coconut milk. When I get a freebie I order the same thing in a Grande. I could get the Venti free but it's more calories than I want to drink.

When the winter drinks come out I get nonfat caramel brulee lattes. Rest of the year I get either nonfat white chocolate mocha or upside down caramel macchiato . If I don't want coffee for some reason, I get iced chai tea latte or iced pineapple infused green tea sweetened.
What's the difference between a skinny drink and nonfat?

I have three gift cards in my purse. Probably $50 worth. I hate just the smell of coffee so I rarely go in. When I am with friends who drink it, I generally treat them to whatever they drink. You’re killing me. All those lattes just sitting there in you’re purse!! You would hate me. Teachers get $5 Starbucks cards all the time as gifts. I shove them in my purse, forget about them, change purses and leave them behind. There are certainly several of those cards on my shelf inside my purses right now. I've probably donated some to Goodwill. Lately I've been making more of an effort to upload them to my account as I get them. I honestly just don't go to Starbucks that often. To answer the OP, I'm not a fan of the super sweet drinks and too much milk makes me queasy, so lattes are out. I'd probably get coffee or an Americano with a little cream and a pump of sugar free cinnamon dolce. Boring!

I mostly get my normal drink which is often a grande cinnamon dolce latte with half the syrup. If it is free I get a venti and add an extra shot of espresso. Their drinks are just too sweet so it pretty much doesn't matter what I get, I always cut the syrup in half.
