Happy Birthday Mom! AKA welcome to Sept 24, a new start to a week, the first Monday of Autumn, and my *last* sketch for the fabulous month that has been Sketchtember! Yes, that's right...next Monday is October 1 I have TWO sketches for you to choose between today. I messed up, and forgot I had chosen a sketch, so I ended up with a duplicate. So you also get a duplicate Your TWIST is again stitching - hand, pen, digital, 3 buttons - OR to use ribbon. The first is my own creation, inspired by the "grid" challenge and the "6x6" challenge and the "matte your photos" challenge! SKETCH FOR SEPTEMBER by kirstendrew, on Flickr My example of this - complete with a hand-drawn hockey stick (and I used my DH's hockey tape to create the taping on it too!). The first part of the journaling around the square is a quote from "The Hockey Sweater", a much loved Canadian tale. layout number 9 by kirstendrew, on Flickr Your 2nd sketch choice is from Scrapbook Generations: 08 august basic by kirstendrew, on Flickr Again, I was thinking of the grid challenge as a starting point. I also thought it would suit the "no patterned paper" challenge since I only used PL cards and a border sticker! My example: layout krawdad kate by kirstendrew, on Flickr I hope you enjoy creating with one of these. They were actually both fun easy sketches to use! Post your creation here for praise

I love both of your layouts - the hockey stick and the different PP squares on the Hockey layout are awesome and then the Krawdad Kate layout is so feminine with all the flowers and butterflies! kitbop

and your top sketch was perfect for the next photo on my scrapbook table - one of my all-time favourite photos of DH and DD18 - I simplified a little to let the photo be the focus.

Awesome sketches, kitbop ! Love a good grid, and these show two different ways to achieve that, and still keep the page interesting and full of fun stuff. Left love for your pages in the Gallery. And Linda, you are FAST! I like the monochromatic background pieces. Would not have thought of that.

I LOVE this sketch, I had so much fun with it! I used the 'Merry Christmas' kit by Lindsay Jane. I have another couple of photos from this day that I want to scrap, so I will see what other sketches take my fancy.

Love that festive page, AussieMeg! That teal/lime/red colour pscheme is bright and happy, and I love how you interspersed the cards with your fun photos.

And here's my take on the first sketch. The kit is 'Best Friends forever' by Jen C Designs. This photo was taken on St Patrick's Day. DSO likes to do weird things with his facial hair. This year he grew big bushy sideburns and dyed them green.

Love it, AussieMeg! The bold colours & designs on your squares are perfect for highlighting the fun photo. Love that your title quotes his teeshirt.

wow - that's awesome AussieMeg! Your DH looks like quite the leprechaun with his green sideburns! I love the non-traditional green in your layout and how the colourful squares accent the photo!

I swear this one started out based on your first sketch...not sure what happened along the way because it sure didn't end up quite like it.

AussieMeg - I love how the pps you chose work well together in terms of stripe/dot/size of pattern etc. It looks so Irish, even tho you didn't use green! kiwigirl - love the clean use of the jillibean cards, I adore contrast! And yay for the sewing! You have so many textures covered on this one page. linda - very cool way to use the text square in the centre of the 4 photos - didn't see that coming!

I used the second sketch for this one (which actually has an aqua border all the way around, it just didn't scan properly).

I decided to go small, with an ATC card. I really like this sketch though, so I expect it will pop up in the future because this once isn't enough I managed the twist of stitching, and used some very old supplies from a site called ScrapInsider. The font is Novecento Sans.

Here's mine for #24. My pen "stitching" is a horrible mess, but other than that the sketch worked out great for me. Thanks kitbop!

Both of them are wonderful and I love both your LOs too; left some love in the gallery for you Linda love how you scrapped your favorite photo using the sketch; the little banner adds some wonderful pops of color! Your second sketch LO turned out great too; love the fun quote and WTG using the nuvos!! And the third take with park pictures is very fun and energetic! kiwigirl love your black/white/gold page! The jillibean cards were genius and I love the sweet embellishing! lots of love left in the gallery for everyone else too

Great plan to switch out the pp for photos, Linda. That colour scheme is perfect, too. LOVE the black and gold, kiwigirl! Think I left love in the Gallery for the others. Here is mine. I found a pre punched stitching card (Thanks, stinkerbelle for using one earlier. Made me remember I had this one), so I am totally claiming the 5 points. October 19 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

kitbop I love both your LO examples, they're fab! Loving your big hockey stick on the first and your stitching around the edge looks amazing. And such pretty colours on your second, it's so yummy! Love your circles instead of the banner, they look perfect! Linda love that banner on your LO and man you were fast!I love your second LO too, great design and way to go on the Nuvos too! AussieMeg I love all the embellishments and colours on your first LO, love the dotty swirls and baubles, so lush! And a very cool photo on your second and the colours you've used and absolutely perfect for it, great work! Chinagirl828 this is crazy good! I adore the whole LO, the subtle colours, the beautiful embellishments, the wonderful photos, I would love to sit and watch you put a LO together, you're super talented! JaneB amazing ATC card, the colours are fabulous and I love all the patterns and that bow, it's all wonderful! Wow msliz I adore the layering under your photos it looks fantastic! grammadee - I love your fall layout, I love that type of paper to start with, and then the corrugated cardboard and tag are just wonderful neutral texture that keeps the papers shining but not overwhelming. stinkerbelle, gorgeous layout, soft, but the matting on the photo POPs it out, and I adore the way your title interupts the stitching! @chinagirl, this is *exactly* what I "saw" in this sketch, clusters and layers and yet clean lines. Your 3 colours are soooo pretty. JaneB - again, the poem around the edge, the circle elements pulling your eye through the design, the idea to use for a card, it's great and msliz - LOVE the photos with the title in the middle, LOVE the heart multi-colour peaking out from the photos.
