I'm excited for those of you going to crops. I'm not one for going to crops but lately I've been considering it because it's so hard to carve out time for scrapping. I'm such an introvert that I doubt I'd even go to one. I should be realistic with myself. I'm going to do housework, laundry, and cook today so I can scrap all afternoon and into the night tomorrow. I need to pick up a new cutting mat for my Cameo. The last cut I made didn't go very well because it wasn't sticky enough anymore. I'm sure many of you know how frustrating that can be. So I'll stop by Michael's and do some prep work today and hopefully try out some of the challenges. Even if I don't share my layouts the challenges are so motivating.

Elsabelle - I love the idea of crops but I'm not sure if I would like the reality -I'm very much an introvert also. I was supposed to scrap all day today but all I've managed is 4 cards and lots of computer time - at least I did some gardening right after putting DD12 on the bus this morning - it was BEAUTIFUL at 7 when we left the house for the bus - 66 - we haven't had 60s in months. Of course it's up to 88 (feels like 92) now so it didn't last.

I managed to finish 2 lo’s that I started last month, super happy about that. I chatted with crystalb this morning and she mentioned yt so I headed over there for inspiration. Missy Whidden is one of my favorites. Finishing up some chores and hoping the mojo continues:)

@elsebelle and linda I am on that introverted bench too. I have been to crops, and they are ok, but I go by myself and never know anyone so while they are fun, I know I would enjoy them if I had some scrappy friends here. I do crop with my mom and niece a couple times a year and we have fun but it's such a pain to pack for it. Much easier to stay home in my room lol. Being on the team challenges is like being at a virtual crop, without packing up all the stuff lol.

Another introvert here, I really like the idea of going, I don’t have friends here really but I’m not sure I would do well. Plus my side of the craft room has everything within reach and I have it set up just like I want (subject to change at any time 😂). When I’m feeling good, I usually just chat here on the boards a lot so I really don’t feel like I’m missing out on much by not going.

I just realized I adhered 4 photos to my paper and the paper is upside down...
I'll fix it tomorrow.

To the introverts. Do you have an lss? I started going to crops at my lss. I knew no one. I took some classes. Started to get to know people. I am an introvert, but in my scrappy world I'm not. I've made some great friends that I never would have met if I hadn't gone to my lss.

scrappington - nope, no LSS here and hasn't been for some years. The closest one I know of is in St Petes which is well over 3 hrs south of here and I haven't actually ever been there

I see you managed to post some new pages to the Gallery. Will have to spend some time there this morning to spread some love. So glad you got a chance to chat with crystalb. I have missed seeing her around here lately.

Scrappy randomness: I will have the house to myself for three whole days: it's like a mini crop with no need to pack up for it! Planning on living on Thanksgiving leftovers, boiled eggs and ice cream. I have been on a Christmas card making binge, but hope to get going on some pages tomorrow. Might have to make a run to the photography shop tomorrow to print a few fall pic's so I can finish most of my fall pages off this week. That way, I can focus on my vacation album while at the LSS crop on the weekend of the 19th. I have the privilege of lots of time at home and my own space to scrap, so I love scrapping here. But although it is a pain--sometimes a physical pain--to pack up for a crop and unpack afterwards, I find that seeing everyone else's pages and cards really gets my own imagination going. I love that our LSS sets it up as basically a place to scrap rather than a major party. So most people are there to get something done and it has a busy buzz to it. Also wonderful that justjac and I can go together and join a couple of other friends there, so when we have the best of both worlds: scrapping and chatting.

grammadee I have the whole coming weekend to myself. Whoo hoo! I'll pick up a couple of takeout meals on the way home Friday. I plan to stay in my pjs all weekend and not leave the house. Bliss!

I generally leave them alone, but do include them now and then. I figure they are looking for a little me time away from home.

Ok not sure if I missed your report on your crop How did it go It was great. I had a wonderful time. The women were so welcoming and kind. Everyone was a stranger to me but they treated me just like I was a part of the gang. I got 18 layouts done, which I uploaded in the gallery. I let them know if they ever needed another to fill in, don't hesitate to call me. I just really enjoyed myself.

Every time I start sorting through stuff to put away or pack, I find something I want to play with, so this is a slow process!

Retreat was on the weekend. It was good and also could fall under crop nightmare stories. Always one isn't there. I had met this woman before at a retreat couple years ago. I named her the scary lady and I'm not intimidated by much. She is loud and crude. I can be crude too but in a social setting of people I DO NOT know I am respectful and polite.
Yeah so scary lady was there. She regaled the whole room in how she was cheated on by her husband and how they reconciled and then how he left again. Her story then continues to her dating much younger men and the wild times she is having. I also watched her eat (and no I am not exaggerating) a melon sized ball of bacon..
Ok scary lady should feel wronged by what her husband did. She has issues..totally see that..But she doesn't not need to voice those issues, to the whole room..she didn't know everyone there...she didn't need to be so crude..and the piece to resistance ...she took off her shirt in the crop room after the RMT finished with her so she could ice the spot RMT worked on..RMT sessions were held in a hotel room, not in crop room.
Only redeeming factor she was a lot of the time in her room..she wasn't in crop room for any longer than 2 hours at a time.
But I had an 8ft work space and two stores to shop at. And did I shop. I bought some new TH Christmas stamps. I believe from last year, I bought dies, the TONIC mirror paper and glitter paper packs..14 to be precise. .. few other stamps, the nuvo glitter markers (4) ...hmm..not sure what else.
My friends and I have decided that we are not doing retreats anymore, even the ones we plan with the other acquaintances. The 3 of us are happy to get together at the one friends house for the weekend. She has the space. We have meal plan in place. Costs us $50 each ...we like expensive snacks..
Now to put away all the crap I brought home. I did make some cards. I helped out a couple people with their projects. I loved the store...can't wait to go back to that store. Its a 2 hour drive, they do have an online store..but shopping and touching is just so much fun.
Oh also the UK store I have been buying my tattered lace dies from..just upped my shiping fees from $5 (GB pounds) to $25 (GB Pounds)...so no more shopping from there...kinda sad..

scrappington Scary lady sounds like a nightmare. I have my annual weekend crop coming up. We have one woman that complains about her not-so-DH a lot. So much that I swore last year I was going to take her aside and tell her to stop, but luckily it was not too bad. I wish there was a store nearby, but then again, it would be dangerous!

Thee is always one! I was at a crop a few years ago and there was a VERY loud mouthed woman who I think talked all weekend and never even completed one page Just before lunch on the second day she found out one of the women at my table worked in a place that did cosmetic laser for skin blemishes. Loud mouth lady proceeds to pull up her top, exposing her ample bosom with no bra and point out the large number of blemishes under said ample bosom and ask if they could be treated......” my husband calls them my slater beetles”....... At this point I needed eye bleach AND brain bleach.....🤢

I need to start packing for my weekend crop coming up. I have the hardest time not over-packing!
I can congratulate myself, though. I did not make any scrappy purchases for the weekend. I have more than enough supplies and I am trying to reduce my paper stash a bit. Usually I make a big purchase ahead of time. So, yay!
