I’m reading Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. I needed an easy book right now and so far it’s really good. About a girl from the marsh who has to learn to live by herself when all her family abandones her over time.

You all have convinced me. I am starting Circe next. Me too. I just added it to my hold list at my local library. There are 9 people ahead of me on the wait list-that's not too bad. I've seen it a lot worse for popular books. This is for the paper book. For the ebook version that are 192 people on the wait list. I'm happy right now I'd don't have an ereader although my left arm isn't with the amount of books I check out-it's been hurting a bit lately. I can't figure out what I've been lifting that's heavy other than library books. Keep an eye out if you do ebooks, I purchased Circe back in June for $4.99 from Amazon. So, it does occasionally go on sale. Now, I need to move it up the reading list and get it read!!

I was one of the people who said they couldn’t get into Educated - I only made it like a chapter in and I will not give up! Will keep reading it Also just started Class Mom - very light but the Mom completely reminds me of my best friend from college- it’s pretty funny

I was another who didn't fall in love with Educated and I figured out why - I had it and Where the Crawdads Sing confused, they have a similar theme so I can see how it happened; I started reading Educated and it wasn't going where I expected.
All of you have me convinced to jump on the Circe train now; the subject matter doesn't interest me at all but I'm going to trust the Peas. I've just downloaded it - fingers crossed!

Thanks so much lynnek for the suggestion but I don't do ebooks and actually for right now being on a wait list at number 9 at my local library is perfect. I just had a whole bunch of good books come in at the same time (that always happens doesn't it?) so I've got a whole shelf to read right now.

Actually, being number 9 will probably come fairly quickly especially with a pile of other hold books to enjoy in the meantime! They do all seem to come in a avalanche, don't they?

You don't know how right you are-I just got an email from my local library that Circe just came in for me on hold! Yes, they do seem to come in in an avalanche. That is the perfect description. I love my local library. Free books, free books! How much better can that be? Plus it is about 2.5 miles from my house. Now the question is do I finish the book I am reading An Ocean of Minutes by Thea Lim or do I dive right into Circe? I think I'll finish An Ocean of Minutes tonight and go get Circe tomorrow. I've got half a book to read tonight. Luckily it isn't a huge door stopper.

I’m currently reading The Zookeeper’s Wife. And this is my first time to post on the reading thread even though I’ve taken ideas here for *forever* and I’ve recently had to take up audiobooks (rather than traditional reading) with a 2-hour round trip commute, a kid in HS and the other in MS this year- me time is gone!
I frequently re-listen to Everybody Always by Bob Goff. It is definitely a “religious/Christian” book but goodness if more people treated everybody with the simple kindness he describes- what a difference!
