Had my stress test today and he prescribed Toprol to try and slow my heart rate down a little...said should make me feel a little better. Curious others experience?

I take it and can tell by noon if I've missed my morning dose. When my pulse rate is high, I feel edgy and tired and the Toprol seems to take the edge off of all that.

Yes, I take it for high BP. I take it at night, as it makes me tired.

I take 100mg each day for high BP. Can't tell a difference. BP is lower though!

Curious, what is the reason for your increased heart rate?

He isn't 100% Says sometimes your brain just tells your heart to work harder. Ekg and stress tests all showed it was ok..just fast. He is also checking thyroid which can sometimes cause it but doubts that's it as I have no other symptoms

They didn't have a reason for my fast rate, either. My pulse rate is up when my sinuses are congested, which leads them to believe the congestion in my sphenoid sinuses are pressing on a mass in my right inner ear. It causes vertigo, which I've had years of vestibular therapy to overcome. I usually don't notice the vertigo anymore, but do notice the increase in my heart rate. The drs call it a fright or flight response. It's a PITA!

My dd has that but take a different medication to slow her heart rate.
