I'd like to be productive and scrap today but every time I walk past my desk I see that there are only about three inches of desk here and there visible under the pile of debris that has landed on it over the past couple of weeks. I need to put on a podcast and just get in there and clean it up. It probably won't take that long. I'd like to work on some happy mail type little books with deep pockets for packets of hot chocolate and tea to give away to friends. I have some SS paper that would be perfect. I'm also halfway through a layout that I'd like to finish up.

Hope you get to create those cards at some time. Would love to see them when they are finished. Do you use a die or a folding guide to create the pockets?

I finished a layout I started the other day, And now I have to clean my desk because it looks like a dump pile. LOL I do have some new fall family photos but unless the mess is wrangled, I can't get them out.

Hope you get to create those cards at some time. Would love to see them when they are finished. Do you use a die or a folding guide to create the pockets? I'll see if I can post a pic of one I made a while back. Not sure where I saved it to. For the pockets I figure out how wide and tall I want them to be then add however much I want for depth to the sides and bottom. Let's say a 1/2" deep pocket. I'd add an extra 1/2" for the bottom and and extra 1/2" each for the sides. Then I add an extra 1/2" on each side and an extra 1/2" on the bottom for adhering to the base cardstock. Score the bottom at 1/2" and 1". Score and each side at 1/2" and 1". Once that's done and you fold them you'll see your pocket take shape and you can snip the bottom corners at an angle so they'll meet up nicely. Hope that makes sense. If I can post a pic I'm sure you'll be able to visualize it and have probably seen them before.

grammadee , here is the gift that I made for a young friend of mine. The angled pocket on the side is flat. I felt like I couldn't add enough goodies in it so I made another pocket with depth on the right. I think the ones I'll make today will be a bit smaller. This one was about 5x8 or 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

That is REALLY cool! It looks like the back is scored twice, so it folds like a book? Love the clips and other embellishments, along with the coffee/tea/hot chocolate packets. I need to sketch this out so I can make a few for family/friends for Christmas.

Elsabelle - that is a very cool gift idea! Very steal-able @mikklyn - I wish I had kids in my life who would like halloween cards. Would give me an excuse to buy cute halloween stamps!!! What I really should be doing? 1. working on photos (from January - present) 2. working on December Daily from last year. What I will be doing? Scrapping whatever I darn-well want! Hard to be "tough" on myself when it's my hobby and I'm doing it for pleasure.

I ended up scrapbooking instead of other paper crafting today. I just need journaling and a date on the layout I’ve been working on. I used Pink Paislee Fancy Free for pictures of a tea party with DDs. Love it!

Glad to hear you are feeling well enough to play! Have a wonderful day at the crop. Thank you! I didn't last very long but managed to get about 22 simple layouts done by working steadily. My friend took me home about 2 hours before the crop ended and we got there about 1 pm (I usually open the crop at 10 am) so I'm very happy with my productivity. I will post the layouts later today.
