I didn't have a crush on him, but I just adore him. I would see Barry Manilow in a second. One of my dreams is to see him live. Ya, I know.

Oh, it's not a mystery!!
The way I found out about this is that I have Bruce Springsteen tix.
Just kinda old--it's John Sebastian from the Lovin' Spoonful mid 60's. (look at his pics, he was SO CUTE way back then)
I thought he was sooooo cute!! (oh yeah, I said that like 20 times already!!)
Unfortunately he is sold out but I'm on the waiting list...
Funny thing--I was "in love" with him and "accidentally" saw Bruce Springsteen with him in 1974. John said Bruce was great and instead of John being headliner, made Bruce the headliner.
So Bruce Springsteen is $$$$ and John Sebastian is maybe $, it would be a really cool thing.
Oh BTW I bought Springsteen tix 1.5 years ago; seeing Springsteen on Broadway in NYC next week. Recently found out John is playing the next day--so cool.
And the date was October 18 1974 -like 46 years ago yesterday. (way long ago!!)

My tween crush was David Cassidy and I missed my chance to see him.
My generation was more into 70's music-I graduated from high school in 1978.
Would I go see a rock star that is old? Heck yeah I would! Age has nothing to do with talent or stamina. .
The first album I ever bought was an Elton John album when I was 13 or 14. I always wanted to go to an Elton John concert but somehow never made it. When he announced his farewell tour I was determined to get a ticket. Okay, so it was up in the nosebleed seats and I paid $169.00 for one ticket but it was worth it to me. On September 21 I went to the show-alone. I don't mind going alone. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my life. The man is 71 years old and he plays and sings like he's in his 30's. He played for 2 hours and 45 minutes straight!
Now I want to know-who is this musician you are talking about OP? We won't judge you. Everyone has different musical tastes. Since he is 2 miles from your hotel I'd go.
Never mind-you answered it above. And I'm envious of your Bruce Springsteen tickets. I saw him years ago when he did The Tunnel of Love tour. He is amazing in concert.

ok I'll be the one to admit that I have no idea who David Holmes is No one does, though his photos appeared in teen magazines in the early 70's (I think). He is our greatest unsolved mystery; the peas have been attempting to demystify him for years. It's possibly the one case we haven't yet cracked! Maybe chlerbie can post his picture again and we can resume the search.

Waaay back in the early 70s, had a super teenybopper crush on a kinda famous rock star that faded. I mean lots of pics in my room, etc, like Paul McCartney to me. I saw him maybe 8-10 times into my early 20's, then I last saw him at a small venue in 2007 and I didn't realize that he basically had no voice. He was just eh. Well, I'm going away in a few weeks, happened to look at his site (I look at it a couple of times per year) and he's playing at a small place about two miles from my hotel (if I was 15, my heart would be going pitter patter!!) So, this guy is now in his 70s. Would you go see him again as a "last hurrah"? Or should I just remember how he was almost 50 years ago. BTW he hasn't aged well (and neither have I)!! Have a few drinks right before the concert. You will be amazed how well your heart throb sounds....plus singing along is so much fun! If you had good memories from 50 yrs ago, the concert will make you remember. Nothing like going back to a happy time.

It's so intimate and wonderful and funny. You will love every minute.

Do you ever listen to Tori Amos? She has a song called "Jackie's Strength" about Jackie Kennedy. One part of the lyrics go like this: "Stickers licked on lunch boxes, worshiping David Cassidy Yeah, I mooned him once on Donna's box, she's still in recovery." I agree with you-much better to have seen young David Cassidy when he was in his prime.

David Holmes... lol... Unanimous pea agreement... who is ur teeny bopper crush??? Mine was new kids on the block... and I may or may not have seen them when the traveled with back street boys... and I may or may not see them again with salt n pepa... lol U know jus sayin... lol Oh, Jordan Knight was my 2nd celeb crush ever! A friend of mine went on the cruise with them hat they did a few years ago. She has pictures with him (she also loved him). I am insanely jealous that she got to do that! NKOTB just returned from their TENTH annual cruise. It's CRAZY and stories from friends who went this year, it was the craziest yet. Some of these "ladies" made it a horrible experience for others. We're talking pooping on the floor, peeing on towels as to not lose their place on the Lido deck for concerts! Yuck! No thank you very much. I'll stick to doing the concert VIP if my budget allows it as tours roll around. I'll definitely be taking in the Mixtape Tour this summer. #noshame LOL Thursday was the 10th anniversary of my first show since the "reunion" started. After 10 years now, I think it's no longer a reunion. Haha!

I loved Styx and Tommy Shaw as a teeny bopper. I saw Styx for my birthday about 5 years ago and when they began playing the opening to Too Much Time on my Hands, it didn't matter that we had both aged 30 years. A poster of Tommy Shaw hung in my locker all through high school. And I thought I was the only one... I saw Styx a couple of summers ago and Tommy Shaw was the only original member. That made me super happy!

Heck yeah! My first celebrity crush was David Bowie. I would have jumped at the chance to have seen him at any point in concert. I saw him in Gothenburg Sweden in 1983. He was fabulous!!!

Absolutely. I have seen a lot of people and bands back in the day and recently. It always brings back so much nostalgia that no matter what the quality of the concert is I usually enjoy it. I say go for it.

So happy to see several mention Rick Springfield. I had a super crush on him, even though I was much too young. I always say he is the only man older than my dad that I ever found attractive.
I saw him in '93 at the rooftop bar at the St. Pete Pier. Even stuck around until he finally left in the wee hours of the morning to get his autograph and a hug. I had just turned 21 a few days before.
Would definitely love to see him again.

Heck yeah I'd go - mine was Bobby Sherman. He was FINE! I still get all giddy when his songs come on Sirius 70's radio on the way home!
