Do you leave them in the package or do you put them in a cookie jar or canister or other container of some kind?

Depends on the situation...taking them to work, or a quick party, leave in box. Having a party at my house? I'd put them on a tray. At home? Leave in box if I expect them to be eaten quickly. If they will last a while, I'd put them in an air-tight container.

Depending on the package, sometimes we leave them and other times we will put them in a ziploc bag.

The original package or Ziplock baggie if the original package doesn’t reseal very well.
My DH has a bad habit of not closing the original package and the cookies get stale. Ick. At least the new packaging on Oreos seal up pretty well. Plus I don’t eat Oreos so if he wants stale Oreos so be it. Ha.

The only cookie jars we have are filled with dog and cat copies.

no cookie jar over here either.
(i really don't need something else i need to wash. lol!)
so package.... if they are fancy shortbread or something, i may put them in tupperware container to keep them fresh. but oreos don't last more than a couple of days over here so they don't get stale.

I tend to put the entire package inside of a larger rubbermaid storage container.
Except for the Aldi samoa type cookies. That is 1 serving for DH.

I arrange period in a glass cookie jar like the Kardashians. It's the only fancy thing in my entire home but arranging then makes me happy.

We’ve done both over the years. Lately we just leave them in the package.

Package or a zip lock if the packaging doesn't seal up. Usually it's a partial package that goes in the zip.

Package. If they last that long. Sweets don't last long around this house. The only reason there is still any Halloween candy left is that I had DH put it at the top of a very high cabinet I can't reach!

They taste just like real Oreos to me but are only about a dollar and a half a package. ETA: They have double stuff too.

If the package seals, I leave them in just the package. If it doesn't seal, I leave it in the package and put it in a ziplock.

What's a store bought cookie? I lovingly hand bake all ours with flour I've ground from my own pesticide free wheat and sugar I've refined from the sugar cane I grow.
(In a cookie jar.)

The thin mint cookies are better then the ones you get from the girl scouts as well. Price is better, too.

I own a cookie jar but it doesn’t seal tightly so it’s only for decorative purposes on my counter. I tend to make more cookies than I buy, but we do buy some. Oreos get left in the package because they seal back up halfway decently and tend to get eaten or used in other recipes fairly fast, other kinds not so much. I tend to put any that aren’t in a good package into a Rubbermaid type container so they don’t get too hard or too mushy depending on whether it’s too dry or too humid in the house.

I leave them in their packaging. If the packaging ripped while opening or doesn't seal, I put them in a Ziploc bag. Cookies don't last long around here, so I don't often have to worry about them getting stale. I do have a cookie jar but I only use it for homemade cookies (which doesn't happen too often... I make a lot around Christmas, then proceed to be a cookie slacker for the rest of the year).

Leave them in the package and put the package in a gallon size double zip baggie.

I prefer stale Oreos. Other types of cookies don't tend to last around here but they would either go in a ziplock or my cookie jar.

I have a very nice cookie jar that a friend made for me. She has a pottery business. That said, I never use it. Cookies don't seem to stay fresh in it for long. We usually keep cookies in the package, sometimes inside a ziploc if the package doesn't close properly.

We forget they are in the cookie jar.
I have several. Santa is my favorite.
