Very happy with the way it turned out but that was stressful to watch! I really thought Derrick might not win. I didn't think he did a very good job with his final speech, only highlighting that he didn't ever get nominated. He didn't talk about all the other stuff he did! Oh well, guess it worked out okay, LOL. I agree, it was very honorable of Cody to take Derrick knowing he wasn't the 'easy win' for him (Cody) that Victoria would've been. But I also think he's pretty full of, how do you say? Youthful hubris? He thought the jury liked him more than they did and that he could beat Derrick. Anyone else shocked that Christine didn't vote for Cody? Donny - I'm glad he won AFP but I was really disappointed in him. He seems very bitter and blameful toward others esp. Derrick who I thought at least tried to befriend him genuinely and protect him when he could. Why did Donny vote for Cody; what am I not remembering? But anyway - it just seems like he really harbors resentment toward others in the game when he truly didn't play a good social game. You don't win BB by being a nice person, you win it by game play. And you adjust your dang sleep schedule In the dictionary under "oblivious" there's a photo of Victoria. Holy cow.

It may have been the admirable thing but I would have went for the easy win, and it kinda contradicts your later assessment of Donny nice guy vs game play in my opinion.
I think Christine didn't vote for Cody because of the reaction to her eviction by the audience and the heat she probably got from jury house on their relationship and she didn't want any other attention given to it, she may have just respected Derrick's game more too but I think the flack she is going to get from her hubby and family was the bigger reason.
I think Donny had a right to be bitter, he was pretty much ignored by a lot of hg's, his fate was decided by a skittle at one point wasn't it(a little unclear on if I have that right), his TA team mates never had his back like they said they would I hope he never sees the show where Caleb says Donny is Rainman ugh that was just plain mean and hurtful. Donny was a loyal friend to those he befriended, he didn't always vote with the house and he thought for himself I think those were bigger issues then the social game because really did Victoria play the greatest social game??
Victoria lives in her own little world and the way she acted in the finale was just painful to watch, I don't think Derrick's wife will be encouraging that friendship at all.

loved the show, both my people won and that never happens lol I was surprised Jacosta kept bringing up "fake praying" and felt like that was an extremely low blow against Derrick.

After Derrick gave his speech I was concerned he wouldn't get all the votes. The main thing is, I was surprised he didn't address the genuineness of the friendships he created in the house. I thought he should have said that although it was part of his strategy to get in touch with each person and find what motivated them, the friendships he cultivated were genuinely sincere. Well, at least I thought they were genuine from the way he talked about everyone in the diary room.
I thought people would feel lied to and betrayed and for that reason not give him their vote.

The Skittles comment was funny. I remember them picking Skittles but not the finer details - why and who went home because of it. Donny is great with the zingers. "Do you know a divorce lawyer?" HA! I agree with a lot of what you said about Donny and I do think he was basically discriminated against because he was older, right off the bat. It happens every time in BB and you have to expect it because the average age is, what, late 20s? But Donny spent A LOT of time alone and that was his choice. He also famously went to bed and got up early like clockwork. All the talking and strategizing went on while he was sleeping. I don't understand how you can win the game if you're literally never even in the room when these conversations are taking place. And he never forced himself to talk game with people like he should have, even though it would've been tortuous. Remember the time Christine was dragging herself up to the HOH room, saying "I really don't want to go up here but I have to. I don't like these people. I don't want to be doing this. But I have to." You don't even have to say much, but you have to be present, hear what's going on, and maybe have some impact on it. Yes, it'll be interesting to see how much contact Derrick now has with his "little sister", LOL! Do you think she had a crush on him or was it all totally platonic on her part?

Yes age is definitely a strike against you it seems I hate that about BB and Survivor even when I was younger I gravitated to older people I still do, they seem to have their shit together and seem to have more common sense too.
I think because of his job/personality he was a loner anyways and even though you know BB is a social game it is really hard to change your personality that much if you kwim, I know I wouldn't do well in BB I like my own space and often say I could live on a deserted island lol. Christine did talk when she needed to but her job as a barista would make her have to talk to ppl unlike Donny who I think is a quiet guy who has a job that doesn't have a lot of interaction. Even with all that when Caleb put the thought into everyone that Donny was ex military and not being honest about his real identity which was early in the game I think that pretty much sealed his fate because with that and the not so social game it was too much to over come.
Hmm I don't know if she had a crush on him but I think she has the type of personality that wants to be the center of attention and Derrick played on that a lot and I would have loved to see a final 3 of her Derrick and another girl and see how she would have acted. I think she wants to be the top dog in room of women.

I loved how things turned out. I do think that Cody was certain he could beat Derrick and that bringing him was the right thing to do--that maybe he would lose votes for not being loyal to his one true alliance. I agree with the pea who said "youthful hubris"--that's perfect. Cody is good looking, charming, social, likable, athletic--I have a feeling things come pretty easy to him. I think it just didn't occur to him that this guy who was far less attractive, charming and flirty could actually get more votes.
I do agree with some of the comments about Donny's bitterness (although I do still love him and I'm glad he won the 25K). He did isolate himself too much. He made a couple of mistakes in his dealings with the HGs. Derrick really wanted to keep him and gave him a chance when he had that heart-to-heart talk with him and Donny continued to lie (I understand why he did, but it was his demise; the same way Nicole unwittingly got on Derrick's bad side when she compared him to past winner, Dan). Donny is a nice guy. He was honest with most of the people he cared about but he just didn't play a good game. He has no one to blame but himself. Oh, and his fate was not decided by a skittle. He was targeted--the skittle thing was a cover-up. They did use skittles to see who else would go on the block with him, but he was going no matter what. Someone had to have told him the truth about that by now. Even so, the skittle comment was funny and I liked it. I hope he watches the show and see how much Derrick liked him and that he's a good guy. Maybe some of the bitterness will wash away.
What was with Jacosta's comment about "fake praying"? I don't remember that. And does she know for a fact that he was "fake praying"? And even if he was, who cares. If it gave her comfort in the house, why does she care if it was fake or real? That woman drove me a little nuts.
I was so disappointed that the HGs evicted before the jury would get a chance to talk and give the jurors a heads up on some things. In the past they've allowed that. They need to make the reveal and the reunion a separate show so we can give more air time to that fun stuff.

When Frankie started his twitching and posing in his little shorts I always thought of Richard Simmons dancing to the oldies, and that's not a good thing!

Watching "The Talk" today and they have Derrick on and ...Frankie! UGH! AG and CBS aren't going to let him fade away, even if we all want him to.

I too watched the Talk and was disappointed that Frankie was on. It should have been all about Derrick! If they put Frankie on The Talk as a regular I will no longer be watching the show. He is just too over the top for me.

The guys said they had a pact that if one of them ended up in the F2 with Victoria, they would all vote for Victoria. Cody talked about that the last few days. If he really believed that, it could be one of the reasons he left her behind. (I heard Caleb and someone else talk about it also)

I watch Jeff's interview with Donny after the show and he said the reason he voted for Cody was because he was a man of his word and he told Cody before he left that if Cody was in the final 2 that he would vote for him and he said, a lot of people lie in this house but I kept my word and voted for Cody like I told him I would.
I really wasn't surprised that Christine voted for Derrick because since she has been in the jury house, she said she felt that he was the puppet master all along and she did think he played the better game, I admire her for voting for him even though Cody is "her boy".
Did they mention the extra money that Derrick got for being in the final 2 as a member of American's Team?
I REALLY wanted them to know that America first picked JOEY to be on America's Team but they didn't even mention that. I was really disappointed that they didn't have enough time to talk to the ones that had been watching the game from home all season - I would have loved to have heard their opinions.

Sorry I missed The Talk-just finished watching the show. I can't stay up that late on a work night! I loved that Derrick won. I especially loved when Julie asked what he's going to do with his money and he said his wife would make the decision.

Why is CBS so in love with him? I suspect it's because of his sister. Keep Frankie happy and Arianna might be willing to do a special for CBS or make a guest appearance on a show. I think if he was Frankie Smith they wouldn't have the time of day for him.

I think if The Talk wanted a second houseguest they should have gone with Donny. He did get the most votes for favorite. Choosing the person who thinks rape jokes are funny is just bad form. Oh wait, this is the network that decided it would be fine to have John Rocker, an ex-ballplayer famous for some racist and homophobic comments, on Survivor this season. I guess they figure bad publicity is better than no publicity.

Just finished watching and am very happy with the results. My houseguest in the pool, Jocasta, didn't disappoint. I detest that woman. What a sorry excuse for a *preacher* she is. I loved their reactions when they found out about team America but I wish they had mentioned Frankie's stupid play that failed.

I heard Donny's reason for voting for Cody and I think it was somewhat sincere. But I also think he had a problem with Derrick. I think he feel Derrick should have stood by him as part of Team America and was mad that he didn't. He seems to have a bug up his arse where Derrick is concerned. I would be interesting to hear what he thinks after he watches the whole show. I felt like Derrick cared for Donny and had his back more than most of the HGs.
I still want to know what Jocasta's "fake praying" thing was about. Can anyone enlighten me?
I watched most of the backyard interviews and found most of the cast really likable and not bitter. Zach was just beyond charming in his interview. I really loved him--such exuberance and happiness. Cody was probably the one that surprised me the most. I liked him okay during the game (and sometimes not) but I REALLY liked him in his interview. His reasoning for taking Derrick made sense and seemed so sincere and genuine. I think he seems like a really good person.
It was very cute to hear Derrick talk about his experience. How he had to focus on the game constantly, and that he never let his guard down. When he was tempted to, he would think of his family and pull himself back into the game. He also talked about the look he fostered in there--the beard, glasses, beannie and how that isn't him AT ALL and he was glad to just get that off. I thought "that's a shame, because that was a darn cute look for you!" Still love Derrick, probably even more after that interview.
I know all of the live feed people especially thought this was a boring season, and I understand that. I really liked this season though. There were so many people to like and the people I didn't like, I didn't hate with a passion as I have in other seasons. I kind of liked having a more "normal" cast. Sometimes I get tired of all of the over-the-top whackadoodles (or Fruit Loop Dinguses) on reality TV.

Okay, so why decide it was "fake praying"? I think that's a pretty rude thing to say--you don't know what's in someone's heart. Unless he joked after and said "did you see me pretend to pray with Jocasta?" I don't think she has the right to say that. I'm sure it's what you said--she's a little nuts. I'd like to muzzle that nut with one of her stupid bow ties.
