I need to go on a spending freeze until after Christmas or longer. I’ve been out of control the last four months. I am scrapping and using some things up; just not at the rate I’m buying them.
Anybody else want to join me in the freezer? I’m going to start by leaving a couple of stamping Facebook groups. I don’t need more stamps and they only tempt me.

I'll try to play along but with two exceptions. After watching TH's InstaGram Live yesterday I want need some Ranger Clear Rock Candy Glitter. And I want to get a few more Copics and some refills before the price goes up in January.
Other than that I'm in!

I'm in! I had been thinking about starting a thread like this myself lately. My spending has been way out of control the last few months. I was trying to hold out for the Black Friday sales, but there is nothing I need, so I'm ready to start now. I would like to go until May for INSD.

Wow, that's ambitious joyfulnana. I definitely have enough stuff to go that long, but I don't know if I could do it. I'm tempted to join you, but I'm going to see how the first couple months go.

It’s ambitious for me too lol. And I’m not sure I will make it, but I do want to give it a try. My spending has been ridiculous lol.

OK, I just placed an order with Scrapbook Pal for the Copics and the Ranger glitter.
I'm going to try to make it until the end of the year. May is just way too ambitious for me!

I'm pretty much in the freezer anyway - I'm really only buying albums, adhesive, photo prints, and cardstock (when I run out of a colour) at the moment...I mean, I did buy brads last week but $2-ish isn't much thawing. As much scrapping as I've been doing, I really haven't made a dent in anything except adhesive and white/red/navy cardstock.

I am in. I really need the support to stick to it. I want to be in the freezer until June 1, 2019. I have soooo much stuff, it’s sad. Almost everything is from the last few years too, even though I have been scrapbooking since 1997. I have a lot of albums in all sizes and page protectors too. Tons and tons of unused kits and a lot of the new collection pieces that come out. I do need adhesive eventually, ink and photo paper, and possibly, page protectors for a 12x12 storyline album I am working on (my daughter’s wedding album). That’s all I should need. My AE story kit sub will be finished December 2018 and the AE SBTM sub ends next month. I canceled all other subs this year (FJ and CT). No more subs for me until the earliest June 2019! I do have a $50 visa gc I received as a birthday gift last month that I was saving for Black Friday - not sure what I will do about it. I don’t need anything. My true goal is Dec 1, 2018 thru June 1, 2019. But want to start with you all now as it will be good for me. Thanks for starting this thread justjac!!!

See you in January!

I kind of need to. With the monthly teams and all the extra challenges I've been scrapping way more than normal and I can definitely see the dents in my stash but it wouldn't hurt to lose a little more stash weight.
I plan on shopping the black Friday sales so I'll be refrigerated. My goal is to really think about the things I'm buying to make sure I really want and will use them. And after the Black Friday sales I'll be frozen until at least Feb.

I’m in the freezer until BF. In fact, I’m waiting for BF to order more Christmas/DD stuff.

I'm in with the following exceptions - supplies to make Christmas cards/gifts and glue dots
I have plenty of regular things and I am waiting for 2 pre-orders from ACOT. This along with my stash should carry me for a few months.

I've been frozen for a while without actually declaring myself frozen. It's been a conscious effort to curb our family spending overall. All it takes is a quick trip through my scrapbook space to remember I don't actually need to buy a thing.

I've been refrigerated for quite awhile.
Yesterday I just bought two packs of embellishments at the Dollar Tree.
Sugar skull 💀 stickers, and cloth autumn maple leaves with no plastic veins on the back, so they lie flat perfectly for layering.
Both are for Halloween layouts, of which I'll have several to do this year.
So, not totally frozen, but carefully refrigerated. My goal is to use up a lot of stash.

I'm in. I just cancelled a subscription box I was getting from HSN after 4 boxes and left the FB group. I'm even thinking of selling parts of the boxes I did buy because honestly, I just don't need the stuff! My "exceptions" will probably be new ink pads. I just completed making an "Ink Swatch Book" (ala Jennifer McGuire) and come to the realization I have made some really poor choices over time in purchasing ink pads. With the exception of a handful of ink pads, most of the pads I have are inexpensive, newbie purchasing mistakes and well, just plain junk! I have some birthday and Christmas cards to make, so I will slowly buy a few pads (well, once I figure out a good brand that is worth the price.) I'm going to go for a "targeted, controlled" approach to any crafting purchases from now until April 1st or so. I've been easily distracted with a "Look! Pretty, Pretty! I want that! I need that! approach to shopping and I need to pull back and get that impulse buying under control. My DH, I'm sure will support and appreciate my efforts.

I should probably join in but I do enjoy making a few purchases each month! Not buying scrapbooking supplies but I still find it hard to resist the odd stamp set. Am getting better at sticking to my budget though.
I might jump into the freezer next month as I’ll be working on DD and have everything I need.

I am! I do NOT need any more supplies. I even have enough adhesive and card stock to last me a year at least. My 2019 goal is to use just my stash and make a big dent in it! Also, I want to use my stamp sets more than once or twice, because at this rate, it’s costing me $50 to make a card!!

Who's going to be frozen for 2019? I'll be heavily refrigerated. I will still need to buy adhesive and photos.

I’m in! Aside from the order I have in my cart right now, I am not planning to order anything that is not a consumable until at least April. I’d actually like to make it until Stamptember, but that’s just crazy talk. I’m actually a cardmaker who scraps sometimes, but I want to get more use out of the stamps I have instead of buying more stamps. I have just started cataloging my supplies in Evernote and that is almost as much fun as getting something new because I’m rediscovering things I love. I’m going to try to freeze with the exception of white card stock, mats for my cutting machines, copic refills, and adhesive. Best of luck to us all!

I’m going to be heavily refrigerated in the new year. Will need to buy adhesive and card blanks for next years card exchange, but my goal is nothing else.

I am! I'm moving my scrapbook room and realize that I have too much stuff. Thinking I might pull the plug on my AE subs (story kit/stamp kit) as well...the increase postage and exchange rate is going to cost me $70 CAN! Without add ons! Those subs don't even give me 12x12 papers!
*edited to add* Just canceled my story kit sub, still have a 5 months on my stamp sub so I'll ride that out.

mostly frozen here still too and continuing into the New Year - exceptions for adhesive and cardstock (needed ONLY not just because it's on sale or a pretty colour). I have plenty of printed photos so I'm going to try and make a dent in those instead of printing new ones for now but at some point, I will want to print more.
I did get a HL gift card for Christmas...I'm thinking it'll be albums

I won't be frozen, but I'll be deeply chilled. Within the last month, I've cancelled 2 subscriptions and I have one more month to go on another. The two gift cards I got for Christmas will cover white card stock for the year. My current inventory of adhesive should last me for a good 6 months. But to say I won't buy any stamps or dies is just being unrealistic. I hope to be much more mindful of my crafty spending in 2019. I know I can do it - I started this year strong but, by mid-year, all my good intentions went by the wayside. I'm planning to do much better this year.
