Depressing and probably accurate. Still, we fight on. Every election. Most definitely. But I admit to being concerned that we're going to wake up the Wednesday after the mid-terms and not see the sweeping referendum we might hope for. And because of that there will be A.LOT.OF.GLOATING by certain elements about how they "won" and a lot more depressing thoughts for everyone else. It at least helps me to realize that there was likely always going to be a pendulum shift back, as the lessons our ancestors learned through the first half of the 20th century get lost by people who have little frame of reference on how life was like, before, and we would experience a period of re-learning. There will be places to point to, for optimism. Hopefully, the upper Midwest and Rust Belt will show some "buyer's remorse." But probably just more evidence of coalescence and a widening divide between progressive and non-progressive beliefs. I'm not going to call it conservative beliefs, because I think we are way past that. Reversion to a mean, is natural, and it doesn't mean anything was won or lost. Growth is painful, and as bad as things are, these circumstances are the ones that force more people to commit to their beliefs, for good or for bad. Which perhaps, hasn't been the state of things in the US, post-Vietnam/Civil Rights Era. Anyway, as you said, "keep fighting."

“Sarah Sanders says the president got elected by an overwhelming majority of 63 million Americans. He lost the popular vote by three million.”
They just lie all the time. In it a requirement to work in The White House that you have to lie all the time?

“Donald Trump once again links Bernie Sanders to the Congressional baseball practice shooting, but throws in a new twist: President Obama unfairly evaded blame for the shooting of Black Americans inside a church in Charleston.”
This is from the interview he gave tonight with the blonde. What an idiot and so is the blonde.

The U.S. military will have an actual force of up to 14,000 ready to intervene at the southern border with Mexico, including an additional 7,000 planned deployment in reserves on round-the-clock standby. The Pentagon announced Monday that it will send up to 5,200 troops to the border ahead of the anticipated arrival of a caravan of Central American migrants that President Donald Trump has warned would not be able to enter the country. These troops, which "are in fact deploying with weapons" will join up to 2,000 National Guards already at the border for a combined force of about 7,200—or about the same amount of U.S. soldiers involved in the battle against the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria. how can they deploy troops on US soil? I thought that required Congressional approval, or a declaration of national emergency / security issue, or something?? I don't think barefoot children and migrant parents who are walking THOUSANDS of miles to apply for asylum qualifies-- but what do I know? My understanding is that they can be deployed to assist with logistics, which is what this is being billed as. The troops are not supposed to have contact with the migrants, but they are apparently "armed" with hundreds of miles of concertina wire to put up as necessary. Additional border patrol is also being sent to the areas of concern, ands supposedly the Army will be involved in things like putting up housing for them, feeding them, etc. This via NPR yesterday morning. US troops cannot be sent to act as law enforcement since the posse comitatus act. I think mostly this is an election stunt for the Republicans paid for with our tax dollars.

So is it possible that trump supporters are going after Mueller tomorrow by releasing a fake sexual abuse story???
This from Jacob Wohl.
“Several media sources tell me that a scandalous story about Mueller is breaking tomorrow. Should be interesting. Stay tuned!”
Prompyted this thread from Scott Stedman...
“I wasn't going to report on this, but I think my fears are coming true. Based on information that I am privy to, I believe false accusations will be spread about Mueller in order to discredit him and possibly the journalists who are preparing this story.
Two weeks ago, I was contacted by a woman who claimed to be a former associate of Mueller who said that she got a phone call from a man working on behalf of a GOP operative who was paying women to come forward to make up sexual assault allegations.
I worked on this story and chased down leads, but found the woman to be very unreliable. She wouldn't get on the phone, she lied about journalists she was working with, etc. Furthermore, I got in contact with the man who allegedly was offering the money....
He was extremely willing to confirm that he was indeed paying women to tell stories about Mueller. I concluded that this was an effort to discredit journalists working on the Trump-Russia story by planting a false story and see who would print it.
I still don't know what to make of the entire situation, but I fear that this is a scheme to discredit those who are reporting on the Russia investigation. If the story coming out tomorrow matches the story I heard, I will post more details.
I know that some journalists who were contacted by the woman* are becoming increasingly worried that something sketchy is afoot here.
*we have no idea who this person is
IMPORTANT: If you see a story tomorrow or anytime in the future of former colleagues of Mueller coming forward with sexual assault claims then please check in with my feed. I have receipts.
I was super hesitant to post this thread because I didn't want to give these people any attention or put this out to the public. However based on Wohl's tweet and some rumblings behind the scenes, I think it's necessary to give a heads up.
Wohl just told me his info is coming from a GOP lobbyist, which makes me increasingly worried. I fear that someone covering Mueller has fallen for a fake story.
The creeps behind whatever scheme this is don’t deserve name recognition UNLESS the story about Mueller gets printed. I won’t be saying anything else on this topic if/when something develops further.”

It was further reported that he was doing this to play up to the republicans base and keep control of the elections. And no GOP will stop him.

Jacob Wohl is a trump ass kisser who wants a pardon from Trump for his hedge fund fraud crimes. He is 20 years old and lives in his parents' basement. Don't believe a word he spouts. He is so far up Trump's ass he suffocates.

If this was any other president and his stooges I would ignore it. But we are talking about trump people and with all the news involving sexual abuse, especially with Kavanaugh, it certainly could very well be true that 1. they are going after Mueller to discredit the investigation and 2. what better way then to try and bring him down then by accusations of sexual misconduct? Poetic actually in trump’s sick little mind.

Axios...
“Trump declares he can end birthright citizenship with an executive order: "It was always told to me that you needed a constitutional amendment. Guess what? You don't."
Renato Mariotti...
“False. The Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees citizenship to “all persons born or naturalized in the United States.” That cannot be changed without a Constitutional amendment.”
I am in no way a Constitutional Scholar. But I can’t imagine a president, any president, can just start changing parts of the constitution with just an EO.

Don't ever forget that he has Stephen Miller working behind the scenes to create policy and changes like this. They are going to throw out so much bullshit and garbage. it is as if trump is only working with those in his circle to come up with this crap, all to rile up his base and cause such violent decisiveness.
Then you have a congress, led by republicans FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS who cannot and will not do shit.

I have no doubt he will try it no matter what. Of course, there'll be numerous legal challenges from practically every single civil rights organization, but even the knowledge of that won’t stop him trying. It’s not unreasonable to predict that there’ll be a showdown at the Supreme Court. Graham, too, said he’s introducing legislation to end birthright citizenship because why not, right? This is for THE BASE, to further rile them and foment even more anti-immigrant hatred. Screw everyone else. Of course, none of his diehards are addressing the fact that this does NOTHING to reform our immigration policies. I’ll go as far as calling this ethnic cleansing.

President Trump plans to sign an executive order that would remove the right to citizenship for babies of non-citizens and unauthorized immigrants born in the US, Axios reports, citing comments made in an interview for “Axios on HBO.” I always thought he was morally bankrupt as far as his business practices go, but after hearing this -- his 'I used to think it couldn't be done by executive order, but they (who are THEY, anyway?!?) tell me I can' -- along with his quote about the 'unfortunate' announcement he had to give (re: the synagogue shooting, I think) and how having to give it underneath the wing of the plane messed up his hair (poor baby!!) I honestly now believe he is wholly without a conscience and a truly EVIL person with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
