i voted for her but i think her time has come and gone. i believe his based was invigorated more by their dislike for her than their love for him. no, it's time for someone else.

I haven't read the thread yet, my vote is a resounding, "HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
That would certainly ensure we have another 4 years of Trump.

I wouldn’t put any importance in what Mark Penn says or thinks. Just about every prediction, strategy, analysis, etc that originated from him was wrong. How Hillary allowed him in her campaign as a strategist just because he was with Bill when he won, and why she waited so long to get rid of him, will always be a mystery to me. I actually think he’s a closet Republican. This is just another one of his tactics to remain relevant.

Second verse, same as the first. I don’t want President Trump to run again but I won’t ever vote for Hilary Clinton.

Based on recent behavior, the country does not deserve to be run by an intelligent, experienced, capable woman.
J/k sort of.
The Hillary hate started early in her first term as First Lady, constantly pumped out by misogynistic right wing groups. It was ridiculous, based on nothing more than that she was an articulate, very accomplished human being with two X chromosomes, and that threatened the heck out of them.
And it never stopped.

I think this is just speculation or wishful thinking. There are too many other issues going on right now to worry about the 2020 candidate. I agree. Lets all remember that this was an opinion piece.

Problem is that no matter who we run - it could be Mother Theresa - the far right rags will simply make stuff up about them, and the crazies will believe and spread it as truth so far and wide that even sane people will start to think it’s true. Many Trump voters still think that Obama is a Muslim and Hillary ran a child sex ring out of a pizza parlor. They think the Clintons have murdered a whole bunch of people. Or my personal favorite, repeated to me by my husband just last week - that George Soros is funding every Democratic candidate personally, and that he is a secret Nazi. Of all the stupid things.
I don’t know how we fight the right wing, Russian backed disinformation machine. I really don’t.

You know I feel your pain darlin', because until very recently that conversation could have been me and my DH. Heck, even though he just voted Democrat, it still could. He listened to a lot of crap sources for a very long time and the effects of that run deep. So, I can give your DH the funding every Democrat personally. Soros is a wealthy man and it is not impossible that he donated a bit to every Democrat. Not likely, but certainly possible. But, help me with the bolded. He's a Nazi and funding the Democrats? Does.not.compute. What is the logic behind that train of thought? Where is the benefit for a Nazi to help elect the party not associated with our country's white nationalists?

I was still trying in my head to see the other side and make that logic work, like maybe he was pretending to be Jewish (to what end, I have no idea)...but I've got nothing. How do you use logic when the basic facts aren't present?

I’ll be interested to see if we’re all even still on the map come 2020. OR allowed to vote freely! No hate involved, please Hillary don't think about running!

I doubt she’ll run again, but to this day, I do not understand the unbridled hate so many people have for her, basically for being the exact same politician as any man, only she’s, ya know, a woman. Oh wait, maybe I do. THANK YOU!! DH heard this news today and repeated it to me in utter disgust. I asked him if he's more disgusted at the notion of Trump thinking he could run in 2020. Yup, he is. WHY? I'm dying to know why! I asked DH to write down his essential reasons for hating HRC so much. No one could run our Country any worse than it's being run right now. We're seeing the demise of democracy; the demise of civility and diversity. I'd take basically anyone over Trump!!!
When DH gives me that HRC-hate-list, I'll let the Peas know. I just cannot imagine what's on it. ONE thing he did admit is that she seems to be too "haughty". Are you kidding me? First of all, she's got the education and experience to come across that way, but I think he's misunderstanding her overall appearance. Haughty and being a bully is Trump; not HRC.

I was talking to a friend yesterday on why we thought people didn’t like Hillary.
I have always felt some of the reason, actually a lot of the reason, is because she was not your “traditional” First Lady. She was not like Jackie Kennedy, or Nancy Reagan, or Barbara Bush. She wanted to get involved in legislative issues like health care. In fact someone on this board said we didn’t elect 2 presidents when Bill was elected.
And I think the other reason is she didn’t leave Bill.
Since then , whether she deserved it or not, people have criticized the hell out everything she has done and how she presents herself. Nothing she does is right. Nothing she says is right. People go out of their way to find fault with what she does. And in the process they have ignored the work that she has done on social issues over the years.
I don’t think she will run, but if she does, I will vote for her, for the same reason I voted for her the first time. She is the most qualified person to be president of those who may decide to run. Joe Biden is also qualified but I would vote for Hillary over Biden because you just never know when he’s going to turn into that weird uncle fluffy.

Haven't they shown that she basically had to cheat to become the Democratic nominee (poor Bernie!). If she wasn't able to defeat Trump the first time (Trump. She wasn't able to defeat Trump. Think about it) I don't think she should. I think the pea poll itself is indicative of public opinion. Personally, politics aside, she looked very unsteady physically the last time she ran. I just don't think it is a good idea. She looked perfectly fine and healthy throughout the vast majority of her campaign. Except for the 9/11 memorial where she had pneumonia or the flu and yet she still managed to show up and do her job. After she got better she was fine for the rest of the campaign. I don't know, she was hacking her way through most of 2016. Having a cough for a year or almost a year doesn't seem so very healthy to me.

I think the Democrats will run a younger candidate. The fresh faces in the midterms got the job done. American don't have the appetite for dynasties these days.

I don't see that happening. If I could pick the next president I would choose my senator, Amy Klobuchar. Her running mate would be Beto O'Rourke. Stacy Abrams would be a pretty great running mate too. It kills me to see red state candidates like them lose their elections. They would do well in MN.
