I must be looking at the wrong thing. I just went to check this out in the App Store because some I haven’t seen it before. I see it’s $4.99. Am I looking at the wrong app? Or are some of you really waiting for it to go to $2.49? 🙃

I think it is 4.99 for ios at this time.

It is the best and easiest app ever. My husband calls my iPad the world’s most expensive cookbook because of my love for the app! I use Paprika extensively, so my iPad works as my main cookbook too! LOL when my old iPad started slowing down, we realized I had filled it up, mostly with pics for Paprika. So I did the fiscally responsible thing and bought a new one with 4x the storage while they were on sale. The sacrifices I make for my family! LOL Seriously though, this app is the bomb. There is no way I could feed my family as well or as often as I do without it. I use it to track our meals, what's in the freezer, what I need to buy - broken down by grocery store - and how much we like a particular recipe. Immediately after dinner I make notes on what changes I made to the recipe and how it was received. This has been really helpful as I learn to make more kidney friendly recipes. and the pantry feature - yeah, I use that a lot, too. DD is moving out in January and she has already made plans to ad items to her pantry list as she unpacks. LOL Marcy

The desktop version - which you have to purchase separately- however, is $30, so I had been holding off for the sale. Big difference between $15 and $30 to also have it on my Mac.

Ah, this probably explains how I have the “save recipe” function in my bookmark bar; it must be just on the desktop version. I have that and it cost about £20, I can’t remember the cost for my iPhone/iPad but it was probably less than £3.

gillyp - is it ‘international’ in as much as it saves recipes as they are with measurements in metric etc rather than American cups etc. Not sure i’m wording that correctly but do you know what I mean?

It will save the recipe exactly how it is written on the site you are downloading it from - so metric if it is a metric recipe and American measurements if it is an American recipe. You can convert recipes to metric and vice versa within the app.

I hope to be more organized in the New Year🤣🤣🤣🤣 How do you save a recipe from Pinterest (not very tech savvy) Paprika has its own browser, but you can't save recipes from pintrest, because that is not the real location of the recipe. You will have to click the recipe in pintrest, go to the actual website it is housed on, copy the link and paste it into the browser in Paprika

Yes, I know what you mean and as elaine says, the recipe is saved in its original measurement format. There is a function called scale and convert where you can change the units to your preferred measurement or change the recipe quantities - say it’s for 6 and you want it for 2. Sometimes I will change them but I tend to use whatever the recipe calls for, imperial, metric or cups. It is a very usable app and is my first go to over any recipe book now. A few things I like about it - the page on my iPad will stay open until I close it down so I’m not having to reopen it if I’m taking a while with it (you know the way some pages close and take you to the home page), you can touch the ingredients list to cross off what you’ve already used as you work, you can touch the recipe to highlight the section you are working on, you can add your own photo of the dish, you can categorise and subcategorise recipes, give them your own star rating, write notes, make changes to the recipe, add favourite family recipes that aren’t on the web just by typing them in, all that before you even get to the shopping trolley section, meal planner section, web searches etc etc.. I have it on my iPad, iPhone and desktop and love that it synchronises instantly between all 3. Imho it’s well worth the money and I usually say that I will never pay for an app.

I guess I will start with moving over the recipes we have actually tried and liked
