Make less trash. We make a remarkable amount of trash in my opinion and we have to take steps to reduce it. The flip side is that at least I am not a hoarder

Purge my excess craft supplies. Oh yes is me - I have already started going through a storage unit that needed to go so I could fit in a new sewing table! DH just shakes his head ...

You non tissue buying folks know that they are less than a penny per tissue, and just a tiny bit more for the super soft ones with lotion. Y’all go buy yourself and your family soft tissues! They will thank you! 😄 I do understand that we all have *something* that we hate to spend money on (razors I’m looking at you!) but using tp to blow a poor runny nose is no way to live! Go buy tissues! 😁

It just doesn't seem like we need Kleenex very often, although the kitchen would be a good place since it is farther from the bathroom if we have a need to blow our noses. I will buy some Kleenex soon. lol

My cheap ass will buy Kleenex. I've had sinus infection after sinus infection and I'm tired of blowing my nose on toilet paper. Ha ! Yep. Me too. The other day at work, someone gave me a Kleenex to use and I was totally shocked how soft it was. I’m so used to Scott tp (flushing issues) that this felt wonderful. I may just treat myself to a box. 😊

We passed a Tito’s Vodka billboard the other day and I told my husband that I’d really like to branch out and try new Vodkas in the new year. He didn’t sound on board with the plan.

I'm going to continue on my 'no buying yarn freeze' until my stash basically fits into the highboy chest in my craft room. I started my freeze Jan 1, 2018 and have managed to go all year using stash--though I will admit to knitting less this year than planned, so it's going slowly. I'm almost at the 1 year mark!! A long way to go before my goal is met, but I will continue.....There is a stash down group on Ravelry if anyone wants to join.....

I have been working on losing weight by watching my food intake/carb intake and walking 3 miles a day. Fell off the wagon big time this holiday season. Went back to my old ways of justifying why I could and should eat this or that. For me its about health for both me and hubby. My resolution is for the two of us to walk/run 2019 miles in 2019. I would like to do that myself but did the numbers and that would mean I would have to walk/run over 5 miles per day and feel that would be setting myself up for failure. Doing it as a team would doing something as a couple and makes it possible. I'm excited. Hubby not so much. lol

I hate traditional New Year's resolutions so instead I like to try something new. A couple of years ago I taught myself to crochet and now I have another hobby. This year I think it's going to be learn to use chopsticks. Here is some inspiration for your goal!

I've quite a few this year:
Eat less sugar Keep to a regular walking schedule (I bought myself a walking journal) Declutter more (I'm making a master checklist to get through for the year, like clean out dresser drawers, etc) No buying for a range of items: makeup, clothes, purses, shoes No subscription boxes or beauty boxes
I just pulled out all my face stuff (masks, cleaner, serums, lotions, etc) I have so much stuff to use up, both full and sample sizes. I'm going to count and photograph how many I have of each then check at end of the year how much I used up.
The big one this year is going to be getting my grocery budget down. I'm going to try to do a weekly menu and shop once a week. Right now I stop at the grocery store probably 3-4 times a week.

Personally, I only buy Puffs, the soft and strong ones. I even buy them for myself to use at school.

Count me among those that don’t buy tissues. We mostly use cloth wipes that get washed and put back in the basket to be reused or toilet paper. My resolution is to purge the baby stuff- either sell or donate. There’s no more babies in this house and I would love to keep a handle on the amount of stuff we store. My other resolution is to go camping as a family a couple of times. We’ve slowly bought more and more gear over the last couple of years and while we’ve used it I would love to explore more parts of our state and get outside more.

I want to get more sleep! I struggled with sleep issues for a long time, but recently found a sleep podcast that has really been helping. Now I want to start more of a routine of going to bed at a regular time. Right now, I'm all over...I might fall asleep around 9, or it might be 2am. And I want to slowly start updating my wardrobe. I've had some items for YEARS and just make do, because I hate clothes shopping and it all seems so expensive. But this fall I invested some new cold weather items and it made me feel fantastic. I might buy some Kleenex, too.....

Standard resolution here: loses weight, exercise. I’ve been working on getting things in place for the exercise part at home. We have a treadmill, that will be used. I also bought a used kickboxing bag that my son and I set up this week. Several years ago I did a 10 week kickboxing camp, and loved it. But then I broke my foot a lot, and spent a half the year in a boot, and had major surgery for it all. I finally feel like it’s healed “enough” and have found the most normal it’ll ever feel again. And this new house has enough space to use it. I think I know where my boxing gloves are in this house, so after Christmas and a vacay in a couple weeks I’m going for it.
I’d also like to continue trying new recipes, read more, less total zoning out in front of the tv, and learn some French. And take up hiking again....that goes back to the foot issues.
BF is going to take guitar lessons. He played when he was younger, and wants to get back to it. He needs an outlet for his emotions, and music is his thing.

Get my Starbucks addiction down to once or twice a month. I work directly next to Starbucks....they know me by name....when they bump into me at the grocery store. Lol. It’s bad. I think my DH has a Jersey Mike's obsession - one of the workers greeted him by name when we were out shopping today....

DH told me last week that we need to come up with a signature drink. I told him we should work on a drink-of-the-month plan for 2019.

Purge my excess craft supplies. Oh yes is me - I have already started going through a storage unit that needed to go so I could fit in a new sewing table! DH just shakes his head ... I did this earlier this year and donated all of my scrapbooking supplies to my local high school. They were so happy to receive them, and it really made me feel so good to have all of those things that were taking up space out of my craftroom.

I don't usually make resolutions, because if I want to be ambitious about something I want to do at any given time throughout the year.
With that said, I plan to get back on track as far as small portions, no snacks, lots of water, more walking. Why do so many people make fudge, candy, breads, cookies, etc...at the holidays. It would be rude to not try a bite...of each yummy offering. LOL!
My first world resolution will be to scrapbook more. Life gets busy and fun stuff gets pushed down the list of priorities.
I too used toilet paper or cheap sand paper tissues as a kid and during my "I'm broke" younger adult life. I am now a Puffs only tissue user.

Mine is to watch less TV. I spend too much time in front of the TV, and truth to tell too much time on the computer. Hours go by for both.
Instead I want to fill that time with more reading and to start scrapbooking again. It's been years since I scrapbooked and I love it. I've got a great scrapbook/office room and it's not being used for scrapbooking or any other artistic outlet. I like stamping too. I miss the creativity outlet and I know it's good for me to do it. It makes me happy and lifts my spirits.

Mine are the usual, but I feel there's more importance to them this year.
So, it's the working out--I just joined a small gym that does a more tabata type workout which I really enjoy (weird, I know!). I feel very strong, powerful, and accomplished when I do it. The next is to get some weight down. I'm going to have roux-en-y bariatric surgery on April 9 and I want to be in as good shape as I can--have a lower weight going into surgery and build some muscle and tone up beforehand.
Going the 26th again--this weekend has been a bit busy and I hit my yearly "Xmas Crash". Every year for the past 5ish years I've missed Xmas dinner because I feel sick and exhausted. We usually get out of school on December 23...this year we got out on December 21---2 days later like clockwork I was holed up in my room passed out in bed exhausted. Hopefully tomorrow I'll actually get to eat the wonderful dinner I never get to have WITH my family.

This thread reminded me to add Puffs to my shopping list as I am on the last box.
Haven't decided on my resolutions yet. Last year I had this ridiculously long list of habits I wanted to add or change and did none of them. I do best with resolutions if it is a single thing that takes a few minutes each day. I'm thinking of adding some light exercise in the evenings from an exercise video or doing some housework after Jeopardy goes off, just something to get me up and moving. I need this particularly in winter when it is cold and I just want to stay huddled on the couch.

Mine is to never stay at another Hilton hotel. Also to never buy a thing from Lululemon. I have some pants you can see my ass in and I want to return them and they are giving me nothing but grief. In case you cared this is a known design flaw and I am wearing pink Jockey underwear. Yeah not cool.

I need to earn more money. I have one kid going into trade school this summer, and my other teen is involved in a bunch of school stuff that requires money.
This might be the year that I drop weight. I've held steady at my weight for 4 years now, but I'm in my mid thirties and see forty right around the corner. I want to be a healthy person, and not a mess.
One resolution that I must keep is that I need to have a physical. I make sure that my kids all to to the doctor and their specialists, and yet I haven't had a regular check up in five years. I guess I'm just all doctored out, but I need to take care of me too.
I'm going to put together a few actual outfits that are not a baggy pair of jeans and a ratty tee shirt.
And I need to buy shoes. Several pairs of shoes. I'm embarrassed by how little footwear I own for myself.

I'm tired of stepping in a puddle and my socks get wet (because the top of my shoes is not waterproof).

As soon as I can shake this cold/sinus infection whatever that is driving me crazy, I want to get back in the habit of hitting the gym at least 3 times a week. Losing weight would be nice, but mainly I just want to feel healthier. And then there is the decluttering project: the library needs serious purging of books which I will never read again and/or which I also have in an ebook version. With the freed shelves, I can store my yarn stash and MAYBE see what I have.
