Me either. I attend crops and almost everyone attending scraps traditional 12x12 with multiple photos per page. I see the online kit clubs that have such limited product as niche markets. I might use a TN for a one off project but I don’t see how any serious memory keeper can just use that tiny size. So right there you’ve cut your customer base to only those who want to do such a small project. I just don’t think it’s a sustainable business.

Thank you for sharing this! I was disappointed when Cocoa Daisy did away with 12x12 kits because the owner is moving to TN scrapping and now this. It seems like a such a strange business decision to cut off mainstream scrappers. Not everyone embraces the TN format...
I just started a huge purge of 12x12 papers in hopes of reclaiming my craft space, but I'm going to re-think that now and hold onto them a bit longer.

I was just watching Heba Alsibai’s latest YT video and she had asked viewers what they wanted to see more of. Overwhelming majority said they wanted to see LESS mixed media and MORE TN layouts. I was a little surprised at the latter.
Take it with a grain of salt, as she does TN layouts regularly and perhaps already has a lot of TN people who self selected into watching her channel, but maybe we Peas ARE a smaller minority in the scrapbook world.

If Missy Whidden or Adele from Inky Quill got that answer, I'd be very surprised.

I do think that’s part of it, but she posts roughly the same number of PL layouts so to hear an overwhelming majority not ask specifically for TN was a little bit surprising to me.

I watch her channel, but only the PL videos because I have no interest in TNs but I never saw this poll! I watched the video with the results after reading about it here but I wonder where/how she asked? Does anyone know? Did I miss it because I skip all the TN stuff? If so, I’m probably not the only one and that would’ve skewed the results.

I just looked at the email too and thought it's essentially the same kit... appears to just have less 3x4 cards which have been replaced with TN sized papers. And the album dimensions definitely make it seem as thought it's a 6x8, but looking at the photos of the page protectors, it looks like it may be more like 5x8. Which is a very odd size.

is it just me, or does it seem kind of expensive? It gorgeous, though pastels aren't really my thing, traveler's notebooks exclusively either, but $33? yikes.

I've been doing TNs almost two years and love them, but I've been itching for a change. If this kit focuses on 3x8 with albums and PPs, I think I might give it a go. I love the size, just miss PPs, being able to sort layouts, etc. There aren't actually very many really good TN-centric kits out there - most of the ones that exist are a bit blah.

I love the albums and I am going to buy 6 of them, when the (3) green and (3) blue releases. I want to transfer a project I am working on into them for my son and daughter. It will release me from buying from Studio Calico/Ali albums. I am way too nervous that the albums will disappear in the future. So, my goal this year is to stock up on PP and albums for the years I'll need them--hopefully, a sale will happen, but I am saving for it regardless.

The scrapbook add on seems to be a regular 12x12 kit but without exclusives or a stamp set. To offset that it’s $10 cheaper than the full kit was. Were they not quite sure about the new direction and doing this a a backup?
I hardly do12x12 any more—I switched to 81/2 x 11 since I didn’t like the square shape. I do like fact that they offer page protectors and I might be interested in trying a TN down the road but not just yet.

I also watched dearlydee's YT video and she said the pp are 4.25" x 8.25". I feel stupid but is that a strange size or is that typical sizing for a TN?

So it looks like they are doing a different version of the tn pp that freckled fawn started. Instead of using a traditional cover, they are making it a different hybrid with traditional ring pp and an album in the tn footprint. Please correct me if I am wrong. I only know the size from kits I have bought and reengineered for pl.

I think most average scrapbookers probably do still use 12x12 or Letter sized pages, but I also suspect that they are not the market for kit clubs. I have no idea if I'm right but it seems like a great many scrapbookers are buying papers and stickers from big stores like Ms/Js/HL (and maybe some LSS where they still exist) and don't even know that these online kit clubs exist. I think they are very niche, and maybe appealing to the niche fads is what makes business sense.

The subscriber price is $25 plus shipping. You also get two free classes and free printable with the subscription. Now that it’s released, it just looks like the pocket kit with a new name. There’s still 6x8 papers. I’m so behind on scrapping right now. The last 3 months of kits are barely touched. I do like the idea of downsizing my subs. I never wanted to let one go because of fomo. She just did the job for me. Lol I will buy several albums. I’ve bought the SC from Trina because she stocks the pp for them. So I like that aspect that she stocks the necessities, and the discount and bundled shipping make it really easy. The size looks fun to try. I’d prefer an album with rings versus a notebook.

And good point about the classes. that helps.

Can someone explain the new sub to me?
Is the new Citrus Twist album specifically made to hold TNs? The whole notebook in each page protector? Or is the new album for individual pages created the size of TNs?

I’ve been a subscriber for something like two years so maybe I’m getting a discount for subbing by the year but I’m being billed $25.45 every month for the pocket kit. Waiiiiit. I’m locked into the old pricing. She had to raise the price last year and those already in subs were locked into the old pricing. Sorry. I don’t even pay attention because this kit is my monthly box of happy. I’m almost never shopping outside my subs anymore except the occasional good sale (hello Bella blvd).

I have to say, I'm a little interested in this kit and I've never been a huge fan of citrus twist style. I have definitely seen releases in the past that I liked, but nothing enough to purchase. I also won't be purchasing this first kit, but I'm going to keep an eye on it. The colors are a little too neon/pastel for me, but I really like the gold chipboard and the stamp set.
I think I see the point behind her new sub. She's seeing that a lot of people who sub to kits create a variety of project styles... TNs, PL, traditional pages, mini albums, etc. Her idea was to create ONE kit that would serve all of your creating needs, so you didn't need 5 different subs from different places, etc. However, because 12x12 papers are so expensive to ship for people who will just cut them down, she decided to put that portion in an add-on. But, the main kit works for you to create PL, TNs, traditional pages or a mix of any of them. She is including PL cards, but these are often used by people on traditional pages or in TNs, especially if you cut them up. You can cut the 6x8 papers down to fit TNs or cut them into two 4x6s for PL or use them on a traditional layout (honestly, the way I scrap 12x12 and 9x12, I probably could get by with just 6x8 papers + solid cardstock in the larger size). I like this idea, in general.
The new album size seems to be in response to people who are intrigued by the TN style and page size, but worried about longevity and book thickness. This way, you can create what looks like TN spread (using TN sized products), but then slip it into a pocket protector in an album instead of a TN.
What I don't get is why she isn't offering additional page protectors for the album. She said they will be available in different configurations in the future, but there should be add-ons of the full page ones for now at least. I also don't get why there is ONE 3x8 card in the kit. I get that some people are doing 3x8 now, but one card is hardly enough to create a 3x8 album. If you aren't creating a 3x8 album, the 3x8 cards are hard to adjust because in any album larger than 6x8 there aren't pockets that size and the design on the card prevents it from being cut down. You could technically add it into the new album, but you would need 3x8 page protectors which she doesn't sell so people would have to purchase from AE. This seems like a misstep since the entire point of this new kit seems to be that she wants to be a one stop shop for all your papercrafting needs.
Also, I think it would make more sense if the SB add on was not a full kit but just 12x12 papers. I think this set up is going to make a lot of traditional SBs just skip the kit and buy the SB add-on without a sub because she doesn't allow one anymore. That seems like a silly move because when people sub they tend to spend more money. It seems like she should've either let people sub to the SB kit or made traditional scrapbookers want the main kit. If she wanted to add additional embellishment options, it seems like they should be a separate "embellishment add-on" because they could be used in any size then. Plus, people would gravitate towards getting the main sub and then adding these things on a la carte as opposed to the current set up that I think is going to encourage people to just pick up the SB add-on without the main kit. But idk, maybe she has numbers to back up why she did it this way.

Because of SC's business practices, I'm not buying until there are some in the shop.

That's a huge change for citrus twist. Hope it does well for them because I do not want to see another kit club to close.
I do not sub to any kit clubs because I don't want to accumulate stuff and not use it but do prefer to buy kits when I like them. Being a traditional 12 x 12 scrapbooker this leaves me with hip kit club only.

I’m glad at least to see the 12x12 add on. I get that rising shipping costs make things difficult but am really sad to see the demise of so many traditional SB kits.
