Crate Paper teased a new Maggie Holmes on social media a few days back. Yesterday, they showed the first sneak by posting the basic colour scheme. Oh yes, more pink, of course. And light mint. But that periwinkle blue, be still, my heart.
What do you *want* to see? What do you think we'll actually see? Getting any specific critter vibes from your scrappy crystal ball-gazing? Will she continue the folkloric trend of Willow Lane or go back to her more traditional, vintage style? What do you think the new products CP is teasing are?
ETA: Sunny Days has been revealed
It's an everyday summer collection with boho vibes and vacay elements. Loads of light pastel colours with gold accents and an iridescent finish.
Die-cut alphas and foil embossed die-cuts are among the new products. And stencils and paints (congrats to those who guessed correctly).
I downloaded the IG Stories since they contain more product and details than Crate Paper's blog post about the new line.

I must have no imagination because I immediately thought acrylic paints and stencils when I saw that sneak. I agree about the periwinkle being fresh, hope the rest of the color palette doesn’t revert back to more of the same. After Christmas it’s nice to look forward to some spring invoking releases!

Me, too! I love the colors and hope it's a good release.

The colors are nice enough. Very spring. Very traditional Easter pastel.
I'm more wondering what "new products" are going to be. A new type of embellishment? Or just that the paper line is new?

I'm more wondering what "new products" are going to be. A new type of embellishment? Or just that the paper line is new? There are "some new products in this one" so I'm assuming Crate Paper are coming out with completely new things to sell, probably embellishments as you guessed. They've already started doing tiny puffy stickers in their past few lines so that's ruled out. They have TN inserts with their Journal Studio line. So...? No clue. And curious!
Anybody got any ideas which cooky "bonus" animals MH will haved decided on? In 2018, she had peacock + butterfly + several birds (sorry, I'm no ornithologist ) + swan + bunny + fawn in Flourish and swan + bird + butterfly + panda + cat + bunny + fox + unicorn in Willow Lane. I think we're certain about the return of birds, butterflies and likely regarding bunnies and swans. But which strange one will make the cut now? I don't see her as a llama person...

Not a fan of pastels. Does Maggie even scrapbook anymore?

These colours look like the last line, Willow Lane to me. And I'm betting on storks holding handbags and maybe an elephant with a walking stick and a top hat.

I'm guessing: peaches, greenery (ferns?), lambs, gumballs, crickets and quesadillas.
You know, about as cohesive as the rest of her collections.
Some of which I will buy regardless 😂

I think, since the caption says the photo contains a hint, that the line will contain acrylic paints a la Making Memories.

Perhaps the latest designer dog?

I’m into a lot of the papers — the fruit is tastefully done, imo. And that blue!!

Die cut alphabets are new? I'm pretty sure I've seen them or something very similar before.
Foil sticker accents are new? They remind me of gold foil sticker seals from Hallmark. And what is this about cut apart? We need to cut them apart? Why? Are they printed as a sheet?

Except for the beach stuff (umbrella, shells, swimsuit), it looks like every other MH collection to me.

I just think every Maggie Holmes collection looks exactly the same. I bought a bunch of her PL kits before I realized she's not really my style, and I can't tell them apart. They all have the same colors.
(But I do like that periwinkle...!)

I always love something in Maggie’s collections with “Bloom,” being my favorite. I’ll be grabbing things from this line.

I like the periwinkle but don't really see myself buying any of this. It's certainly very true to from. I did a double take at the 'Jems' and flowers though.

No 12x12 papers? Or do they just not show them anymore? I like a few of the bits and pieces - chipboard, thickers. The gems seem a bit over the top, I can just steal those out of my 3-year old daughters crafting box. I like the tissue paper flowers, though they could be fairly easy to replicate at myself.
There was a Dear Lizzy line a couple of years ago that had something very similar to the journalling runners, but in more of a pen format. I remember thinking they were kind of cool but not worth buying for what they were. And I'm pretty sure they still out on clearance at the local bit chain craft store here.

I feel fairly indifferent towards this line and I think it's because, as others have pointed out, every one of her lines looks like every other one of her lines. I like that the sea shell paper feels a little more adult than I'm used to seeing in beach collections and I'm intrigued by the journaling runners (is this literally just a runner that puts a single line down for you to write on? If so, why would I waste money on that when I could just draw/rule a line?) I'm over bikes and glasses in embellishment packs though. I did a double take at the 'Jems' and flowers though. That seriously made me roll my eyes. It may be a stylistic choice, but if it was it's a poor one as I just see an inability to spell correctly.

The first sneak (after the paint) in the OP is 12x12 papers

I like some of this line, but I wish that it included girls/women with darker skin tones. Everyone who scraps isn’t Caucasian, nor are all the people we Caucasian women scrapbook. (My nieces are biracial, so this is an ongoing challenge. Companies overall are getting better about more diversity.)

(My nieces are biracial, so this is an ongoing challenge. Companies overall are getting better about more diversity.) I absolutely love that you said this!!! I have been writing to companies via e-mail and ig comments for 1.5 years. I absolutely love memory keeping and I just want to have myself and my family reflected in the things I buy too. Even when it comes to digitals no one looks like me, it costs nothing extra to color in a face and make other hair textures. As a visual artist and college art professor I teach my students to understand intersectional narratives. Maybe, I will just make my own collections and use them in conjunction with what's out there this year.
