I'm listening to Longbourn by Jo Baker. I'm liking it so far. It's a nice variation of P&P fan fiction. Instead of focusing on the main characters of Pride and Prejudice, it focuses on the help.

I just finished The Lovely Bones and will be starting 1984 and Otherbound today.
I listened to a sample of an audio book last night and didn't like the way the reader read it. She didn't read it the way I would. I was going to start working audio books in, but probably not now. I'd rather just read myself. lol

I gave up on Ruth Reichl's Delicious! I love her recipes, but this particular work of fiction just didn't hold my interest.
I'm now reading Sarah Jio's Morning Glory.

I read The Last Telegram which was recommended here, and enjoyed it. It was set in England during WW2, and the protagonist's family operated a silk factory. I'm now reading Lisette's List, and find it to be really good.

I jet finished up Lawrence Block's "A Stab in the Dark". Older, but quite good. I'd like to get further in the series so I can finish "A Walk Among the Tombstones" before I see the movie.
But instead of the next one in line, I started Tom Wood's "The Game". About a hired assassin, I'm expecting unrealistic globe trotting and lots of bad guys shot at. Just a distraction, some lunchtime reading.

i'm reading 'The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. A blogger I read mentioned it and said it was really good. So far so good!
I recently finished reading A House in the Sky and We Are Called to RISE Both books are really good. The House in the Sky was really amazing considering all that she had to endure.
And just for fun, since I was the beach and needed a light read I read Hopeless by Colleen Hoover Definitely a YA book. Typical high school love story but it was actually good and I enjoyed it.

I finished two that week. First was The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. It is about a woman who is kidnapped but then gets back to her family. The story is told in flashbacks of when she was taken and the present when she is home. I have seen comparisons to Gone Girl - I think mostly because there are a lot of twists and turns in the plot and you think you know who is good and who is bad and then you are not so sure. Anyway, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it!
The I finished a book that an acquaintance wrote. It is called Perfect Betrayal by Jennifer Goraczkowski. I actually comes out in a few weeks. It is a vampire/werewolf book. I liked this one better then the first in the series. It is interesting because it has made me think a lot about what makes an author a good writer?
