We are a whole week into the New Year and I know many of us expressed a desire to freeze, or at least refrigerate, our crafty spending in 2019. So how’s it going so far? Have you done a major purge or clean out? Rediscovered old supplies? Been tempted by the sneaks from Creativation?
As for me, I spent some time today setting up my PL albums for my kids. I had exactly enough PP for the year, which seemed serendipitous. I went through my stash of PL cards, pulled out anything with a month or season on it and went ahead and slipped it into the corresponding month’s pockets. Then I pulled out the cards I was saving specifically for each kid and started working on the cover page. I did order my family album this week, but I’m really hoping that will be my only spending for awhile.

well done - esp. with using the PL cards from the stash.
I did go into HL this weekend but I only bought albums (which I've already put the layouts in and they are on the shelf) and blades for the cutter - AND I used my gift card. So I'm calling that a win.

There’s status quo over here. I haven’t bought anything. I haven’t made anything. I haven’t purged anything although I have no real reason to, my supplies are pretty much under control. Well, except for letter stickers/thickers but I don’t really have plans to cull them.

I haven’t bought anything recently, but I’ve been tempted, as I haven’t purchased an album for 2019 yet. I’m still indecisive on what size I want to do. I got the most layouts done with 6x12, but 9x12 feels better to me. The verticality of 6x12 always bothered me. I feel like 6x8 is too small or too closely tied in my mind to projects like DD. I just don’t have enough interesting things going on to fill 9x12, though.
My indecisiveness is helping me stay frozen haha.

I'm not frozen, but I'm in the fridge. I bought ATG tape, but that doesn't count as a fun item.
I did buy a handful of washi tapes for 33 cents each. I'm done now, though. Until/unless some paper I ordered from my LSS last November finally ships. It was supposed to be my birthday gift but it got held up. But then I'll really be done.

I canceled both of my AE subscriptions, so I’m free of that commitment! I am tempted by the Simple Stories Say Cheese 4, because Disney. No purchases yet though.

No purchases for me yet but a little bit of temptation from the new sneaks. I'll be filling my online cart but not hitting the buy button.
I ended up making piles of stuff as my BF orders rolled in during Dec and my desk was already covered in DD supplies so I've started collecting it all together and attempting to sort through it. It has reaffirmed my commitment to staying away from shopping for a while.

I'm refrigerated, but did do a little shopping recently.
I bought stencils at WM for $2.97, and ordered Photo Play's Paper Crane collection for just under $14 including s&h. I had planned to buy that for awhile because my dd took a senior trip to Japan, and it is important enough to have theme specific paper and embellishments.
I will need to buy adhesive soon, because I can't scrap without it.

I was supposed to be frozen but somehow managed to go craft shopping in four online stores, so that freeze didn’t happen!
But I’m determined no more buying from now until I go to a retreat in April.

I’m frozen for the month of January at least. The only new releases that I’ve been drooling over are two new ones by Pinkfresh Studio. Everything else is either not my style or too much like something I’ve already got sitting on my shelf. I’m ok with that. I was invited to participate in a YouTube hop called How to Kill a Kit...With Style. I’ve been having fun using my kit. I even pulled some old, never used supplies and decided if I didn’t start using them by the end of the month, I’m giving them away! It’s oddly freeing to add those little bits to pages. I don’t feel the need to “ration” them as I have felt with other supplies. I hope I’ve made three layouts with that kit already and hope to film a fourth layout tonight.
I have made some scrapbook related purchases but I am not counting them. I bought some new furniture! I finally have two big desks in my room so a friend can easily scrap with me. Desks don’t count in my book!

I haven’t shopped so I’m happy about that. I’d really like to get in the scrap room and play with supplies I already have, it just always feels like there is too much other things to do 🙄 I really need to carve out some time for me. I would love to shop, but I have lots of stuff that I’m excited to use, plus that would be more enjoyable than blowing my budget!

I'm frozen for 2019 except for essentials; photos from walgreens, adhesive, page protectors.
BUT that's it.

I'm not officially refrigerated or frozen but I just did a clean out of my DD supplies (and I also had to do inventory of my craft business supplies - UGH!) and yeah, I don't need to do any shopping. I have plenty of stuff to work with. I just found a die that I barely even remember buying and have never used. I don't have very many dies, so I see that as a clear sign that I've been buying too much stuff that I don't need. As part of my OLW this year I'm part of a Fbk group for what's being called a "Depth Year." The basic idea is that we have plenty of books, hobbies, and other things in our lives that we've barely scratched the surface of. We tend to dip into things and then jump into something else, and then something else, on and on... So what if we went deep with the things we've already started? (these blogs posts explain it better than I can - recent one, original one) So that's the mindset I'm trying to cultivate. I bought tons of distress oxide inks last year, and I've used them a fair bit, but have I really gone deep with them? used them to their fullest potential? tried all the techniques I said I "needed" them for? It's an interesting challenge to my ideas about creativity and inspiration, which seem to tend towards being shallow and jumping from idea to idea as the mood takes me.

lilacgal - the pinkfresh studio lines is the only thing tempting me. enjoy your new desk set up! dasmith2 - I need to carve out time also. I am either finding other things to do or just too tired. LavenderLayoutLady - that collection is perfect for the pics you plan to scrap! joblackford - I love the concept of having a Depth Year. I'm going to check out your links. While I still haven't made anything, I did go through my drawer of scraps and pulled out the papers I knew I would never use. I am going to organize what's left into coordinate sets that I'll use on my next 10-20 pages depending how far they'll go.

I did a ton of buying in 2018 to make up for at least four years without buying anything...of course I didn’t scrapbook all of those years either. I’m frozen at least until my birthday in March. I have a gift card for Hobby Lobby from Christmas and only spent part of it so if I really need to just shop I’ll go there. I don’t need anything. I probably have enough ATG refills to last 2-3 months.
To to be honest, I’m tempted by everything! The hardest thing for me is staying out of Tuesday Morning.

Frozen since Dec 1, 2018 and planning on staying that way until June 1, 2019.
I literally have more that 60 untouched kits from SC, AE, FJ and CT to use. Plus, all the shopping I have done at scrapbook.com, which sadly was a lot the last two years. I have more SC and AE 6x8 albums than I know what to do with and also 4x6 AE albums, as I purchased almost all in sales. I may need ATG tape eventually or one set of 12x12 HS Storyline page protectors for my daughter and son-in-law's wedding album. I will not even need textured white Bazzill cardstock as I have lots of it.
I love the idea some have said of creating 100 pages before buying anything. I want to keep track and do that too. Of course, still stay frozen until June, 2019.
I love scrapbooking and I am hoping and praying this will be the year, I find time to organize and spend time scrapbooking in my scrapbook room; and I also want to get my camera out again and use it.

I wanted to buy a collection from KeepItSimplePaperCrafts, an offshoot of Scrapbook Expo. But, it won't accept my address or my work address, even though I have ordered before. I emailed them, but no response. So, the heck with them! I am forced into the freezer again .

I haven't shopped, but I also haven't scrapped anything. This isn't quite what I had envisioned lol. My last few years of photos are in such a mess I can't scrap until I have them sorted and organized. So instead of shopping that's what I'm working on.
With that being said, I have only seen a couple things from the 2019 sneaks that I am interested in, and I'm sure I could easily talk myself out of those.

Oh I could spend some hours organizing photos for sure... I have had the problem of not remembering what I’ve printed off and already scrapped, that and my photos are a mess. I did spend $4 and got a photo box, my only scrap shopping this year. I’d like a few things from AliExpress, but it can wait. I really just want to be in my scraproom. I keep doing housework etc and wearing myself out instead 🙄

I haven't even looked at any of the new products coming out this year. I see that people are talking about Creativation but so far I haven't even been tempted to look.
I got an email about some new stuff that could have been tempting (I should probably unsubscribe - why didn't I?!). There was one die set that was cool, but so far I haven't actually thought about buying it. Avoiding blog hops and videos helps me a lot. Once I see people using stuff I start imagining myself making cards and then I want to buy all the things!
I have some cards to make (tomorrow!) with things I bought months ago, so until those are done I can't even think about new things.
I still have a little box of "new things I need to play with" from before Christmas.

I've been watching Jen Schow's youtube videos on using stash this week which has me pretty motivated to dig into all the wonderful things I own. I won't lie, I will be tempted by the new things coming out of creativation, but I'm hoping to stay strong.
