Magic Mesh!!!! Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some more of this stuff?

As a theme-challenged scrapper, I definitely prefer the versatile, classic patterns on the reverse/B-sides.
Would you rather scrap with large-scale or small-scale patterned papers? Why?

Small-scale. I usually do multiphoto layouts and if feels like I cover up too much of a pretty large scale pattern.
Would you rather scrap Christmas or vacation photos?

Vacation photos. I finished my DD this year but still have some photos to do from Christmas on 12X12 but can't get riled up to do them. Christmas is my least favorite to do for some reason (next to Birthday).
Would you rather use pattern paper strips or washi strips only?
|
|
|
Post by grammadee on Jan 19, 2019 5:28:40 GMT
I prefer using pp strips. I can vary the width and use papers that match the rest of my LO. Also they tend to stick down, whereas washi can roll up at the ends.
If you had an opportunity to scrap with a celebrity, would you choose Tim Holtz or Shimelle?

Grammadee that is tricky. I think Shimelle as she seems so enthusiastic and down to earth in all her videos. Plus I love her accent Would you rather....be given a box of random vintage papers, or a box of new release lines?

Definitely a box of random vintage papers. I am constantly on the lookout for my old favorites by companies no longer around.
Textured or smooth cardstock?

Textured. It adds subtle dimension to my layouts!
Would you get more done at a crop with friends or scrapping at home?

At a crop (I am peaing from one right now!)
Speaking of crops - do you plan kits or throw everything you have in your totes and make up your mind as you scrap?
|
|
|
Post by angel97701 on Jan 19, 2019 16:00:51 GMT
I definitely plan kits, usually with a sketch in mind! I have WAY TOO MUCH stuff to take everything! But that also means that I spend a week or two planning the page kits, and usually make more than I can get done, but it also means those page kits are good to go when I get home to scrap some more! Would you rather leave a layout as is when you don't really like it, OR re-do the layout? I've only done this once many years ago! LOL

I leave it as is and move on. I think I have only redone one layout and that was because a little I was babysitting physically tore it to pieces.
Would you rather scrap in the day or the night?

I am a morning person, and I run out of ideas and energy come evening.
Would you rather give up your stickers or your dies?

Stickers. They are consumable, while dies can be reused.
Would you rather use stencils or embossing folders? Why?

Embossing folders - I'm not into messy techniques.
Handwrite or type your journaling? If you handwrite - printing or cursive?
|
|
|
Post by grammadee on Jan 21, 2019 15:21:29 GMT
I handwrite most of my journaling, with mostly cursive but a few printed words. I used to type journaling and then attach, but it was a two or three step process (I don't have a wide format printer), and I find that grabbing a pen and slotting in my journaling where it fits on the page takes less patience and pre planning.
What about photo mats on your pages? Tilted & offset? Or lined up and directly behind?

Post by kiwikate on Jan 21, 2019 18:29:26 GMT
Photo mats definitely lined up!! But maybe I should be more adventurous....
Do you prefer to color with markers or watercolors?

Watercolors, I’ve been trying to branch out of my comfort zone.
Would you rather only be able to do 12x12 albums for rest of scrapping history or only travel/smaller albums for the rest of time.

12x12 albums. One photo on a layout or several?

Post by artisticscrapper on Jan 23, 2019 2:15:54 GMT
Several. I love the look of some of the single photo layouts but it just isn’t practical for me.
Black and white photos on a solid color background or a pattern paper background?

I always use solid colored cardstock as my background regardless the color, finish, amount, or even existence of photos!
Would you rather use flat (ie cardstock) or dimensional (e.g. Thickers, puffy) alphas for titles? Why?

|

Post by justlisa7 on Jan 23, 2019 9:59:22 GMT
Dimensional titles - though I did just get a bunch of Tim Holtz word dies so that may change 😉 Mini albums or traditional albums for scrapbooking vacation memories?

Post by lovinlife on Jan 25, 2019 21:27:54 GMT
For vacations I like the mini albums. Unless I have way to many pics for a mini album.
Flash back …. Would you rather use Basic Grey line of paper or Wild Asparagus?

Definitely Basic Grey...timeless!

Oops...forgot to pose a question. Are you organized scrapper or do you thrive in creative chaos?

Chaos! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't!
Online Scrappy Shopper or Gotta see it in person?
|
|
|
Post by grammadee on Jan 27, 2019 20:55:12 GMT
I MUCH prefer to see stuff in person, feel it, handle it, test out the weight and the sheen.... If I purchase on line I am more comfortable buying a brand I already own or have met in person.
You have half a day in your scrap room: clean it up? Or make more mess?

Really depends on my mood. Sometimes I gotta create and sometimes I have to organize. What's your most favorite scrappy technique you use?

No wonder! I didn't pose the question correctly! Do you stick to your scrappy techniques or do you like to branch out and try just about everything?

Really depends on my mood. Sometimes I gotta create and sometimes I have to organize. What's your most favorite scrappy technique you use? I don't do it too often, but I LOVE hand stitching on layouts. It's so simple but adds so much in terms of color and texture. Would you rather use button or brads?
