I am going with brads as I have eliminated my button stash.
Would you rather stamp or doodle?

Post by grammadee on Jan 28, 2019 18:09:17 GMT
I own a lot of stamps, but when I want to add just the right little extra to my page, I tend to grab a pen or a bottle of Nuvo's and just write or draw what I "need", so I guess I have to choose DOODLE.
Manufacturers: echo park or simple stories?

Lately, Echo Park just isn't ringing my bell and Simple Stories is versatile where I can sneak it in with other manufacturers.
Have you gotten over the purple hump or is purple a color you avoid scrapbooking with altogether?

Have you gotten over the purple hump or is purple a color you avoid scrapbooking with altogether? Ha! Didn't know this was a universal thing. I like to use lavender instead of full on purple. Glitter or foil?

Most likely Glitter but already on the paper or in Stickles.
Would you rather organize your collections of paper by company or theme?

I prefer to organize by company. Lately, I scrapbook from collections so it just makes sense to organize that way.
Edges: Inked or Torn.

Torn...quicker and less worry about imperfection...
Vellum or tissue paper...
Post by coloradocropper on Jan 29, 2019 22:47:05 GMT
I've been playing with tissue paper and tear and folding it for matting pictures. I hold it all together with staples. I'm really liking that look however I still find good use for vellum.
Do you gut your paper or is that too much bother? I'm on the frugal side so I pretty much always gut.

Never, if by "gut" you mean remove the middle section of a sheet if only the edges are visible. I like the stability & uniform weight of an entire sheet of cardstock as the background of my layouts.
Would you rather the focus of your layouts be on the photos or the story? Why?
Post by grammadee on Jan 30, 2019 12:10:52 GMT
I am going to say the story, but for me the pictures are an important part of that story. Some photos just beg to be scrapped, and sometimes I know when I am snapping a pic what story it will help me tell.
Colour preference: monochromatic or lots of different colours on a page?
Post by crystalb on Jan 30, 2019 14:24:49 GMT
Lots of different colors! Although I do enjoy a good monochromatic page every once in a while.
Would you rather have lots of texture for all your pages or flat for all eternity?

Lots of texture, please!
Supplies organized neatly in drawers or supplies out in plain view?

Out in plain view. If I don't see it I forget about it.
If you HAD to purge one segment of your stash, would it be paper/cardstock or stamps/tools?

I would get rid of my stamps, not tools. If that's not an option, then it would be the patterned paper & cardstock. I consider my tools an invest where paper comes and goes.
Would you rather use sequins or rhinestones?
Post by coloradocropper on Feb 1, 2019 16:16:10 GMT
I'm not really great at either one of them but I'd pick sequins. Especially the irredescent ones because it adds a little something but not in your face.
Are you a fussy cutter or avoid it all costs? Myself, I find it rather relaxing and when I watch TV with my DH (idle hands drive me nuts), I cut away and store in baggies to use later.

I'm not a big fussy cutter more bc I dont think of it, I dont mind doing it.

I'd rather use a tag. I have a hard time making journaling cards work for me.
Would you rather scrap a layout with patterned paper and no embellishments or embellishments and plain cardstock but no patterned paper?
Post by artisticscrapper on Feb 3, 2019 5:46:04 GMT
If I had to choose I’d go with cardstock and embellishments (can’t not have embellishments). In reality I usually incorporate all three.
Textured cardstock or flat/matte cardstock?

Post by crystalb on Feb 3, 2019 14:39:23 GMT
I would go with texture, I like the weight.
Would you rather hand cut everything for all eternity or electronically do so?
Post by angel97701 on Feb 16, 2019 15:36:09 GMT
Well, I die cut what I can and break out the electronic cutter too. So I do avoid hand cutting when ever possible!
This may have been asked! I can't remember and am too lazy to go back and read 6 pages!
Would you rather scrap a single photo on a page or create a double page with several photos usually more than four?
Post by grammadee on Feb 16, 2019 16:00:37 GMT
I love doing two page spreads with lots of photos that let me tell the "whole" story. It's fun to sometimes spend all my time layering and clustering around one large photo, and I sometimes do this with one of the two pages I am doing, but usually it is part of the whole double page LO.

Clips—I always seem to stab myself with pins! Would you rather follow a sketch or completely wing it?

Post by jacquelinescraps on Feb 18, 2019 18:31:39 GMT
Completely wing it!
Handwritten or typed journaling?

Post by artisticscrapper on Feb 19, 2019 2:58:56 GMT
Handwritten. I don’t have the greatest penmanship but I like how it gives layouts a sort of personal touch.
Technique classes/videos or layout classes/videos?
Post by grammadee on Feb 19, 2019 3:51:42 GMT
I prefer classes on techniques. I can kind of figure out LO design by looking at the LO of a photo of it, but often wonder "how did they DO that???"

Such variety and loads of colors, sizes that you can mix and match. White cardstock background or pattern background?

Great thread!
I'm going with patterned because I almost never use white as a background (photo mat or frame around the whole page, yes).
When journaling, colored pen or good old black?
Post by crystalb on Feb 21, 2019 16:43:56 GMT
I usually use black/grey. I forget about all my pretty colors!
Would you rather use wet or "dry" adhesive (atg/glue dots)?
