I still use my Quickutz alphabet dies. When I want to cut them I put them through my Quickutz Revolution cutter, although I still have the handle too. I don't have a electronic die cutter. I bought one and then sold it. I'm computer challenged and I love the ease of the Quickutz.
I also love stamping and will buy stamps if they are my style. I prefer rubber over clear stamps.
If I were you I'd post them here on the FSOT board first and then whatever doesn't sell, donate it. The FSOT board here doesn't have any fees like another Pea mentioned which makes it more profitable in the long run. I hate to see this but stamps sell better if they aren't in a lot because the buyer 1. May have stamps in the lot already and 2. May not want to spend as much as a lot requires.
Yes, it's a hassle to photograph each stamp but they do sell a lot better that way. If you have older kids have them do it (the photographing) and they split the profit with them.
On second thought you'll get a lot more exposure and possibility of a sale on Ebay. Check the prices of what you have compared to what has sold on there before (completed sales) and it will give you a price range of what to charge.

I sold a lot of my unwanted scrapbooking and stamping stuff on my local Facebook Garage Sale page. And it all went FAST. I posted it and had it all gone from my house on the same day.

When I did a purge of my scrapbook supplies I found an organization in Maryland (just around the Beltway from where I live) that helped women with cancer make photo albums and scrapbooks for their families. Although I would have driven it all up to Maryland the woman who I spoke to on the phone said "absolutely not! I will come and pick it all up, we are so grateful to have whatever we can get." I know that Gilda's Club locations would LOVE donations like this. My SIL has frequented our local Gilda's Club and she loved that they had a craft room with all kinds of options for them to express themselves and document things for their families.

I just gave my 5 and 2 1/2 year old grandsons most of my punches, deco scissors, stickers, paper, die cuts, etc. The 5 year old was so darned excited...it did my heart good! The little guy just learned how to use scissors and he will sit and make scraps! It never occurred to me that these things that I bought as an adult would be of interest to little ones. Boy was I wrong! How about Latch Key programs at your local schools?

How about women's shelters? Don't they come there with their kids? Not sure. But if they do, it would help to entertain the kids.

I'd be happy to take some old QK dies off your hands! Please post them on the For Sale board. I have all the latest and greatest, but still reach for my QK/alpha dies. It's just quicker for me not to have to change tasks for my brain from being creative to computers. As for the rest, put it up on the board. You never know. You can always donate them later if they don't sell. Mail only in pre-priced packaging to make it easier (like the USPS Priority one rate boxes.) I still do, too. If I just need one or two letters, then my quickkutz is far quicker. I still love that simple font Biography that I saved up forever to buy. I'd have a hard time parting with that, lol. Its good to know there is a buy/sell on this board, though. I am planning to a purge of some scrapping stuff this year. Most of it in pristine condition.

I want to echo go post on the for sale or trade part of the SBR board. I found someone there who wanted a QK and paid the shipping for me to send it to her. There is also a post by gramma to donate to the women who lost everything in the Camp Fire in California. On this is something to consider. I hadn't even thought of that! I have a friend who lost her home in the Camp Fire. So that would be something close to my heart to donate some of my unused but pristine scrap supplies to, as well. Thank you for mentioning this.

Lol I love my Quickutz forever and ever. My only regret is not getting Biography. I have all the pretty fonts which I loved cutting with so much. I had 3 or 4 big alphabets too and they are also awesome!

When I contacted the local Head Start lady who overseas the ones in my area I explained I had a large donation to make of craft supplies (all of which was listed as things they needed already on their page) and when could I set up a time to drop off..she emailed back saying she needs a list of things I’m donating..well this is where I started getting bothered because I was on a timeline (we were moving) but it was whatever so I gave her a general list of things like 12x12 scrapbook paper, glues, tape runners, Thicker packs, storage bins, stickers, etc. She then emailed back asking for brands of these products, amounts used out of EACH of the used items and how much was new unopened....so at this point I think I’m being punked or something..so I email her and explain that it would be easier to just take pics because I was working on a timeline and I had far too much stuff to inventory..so I attached pics. Then she emailed back saying she couldn’t really tell from the pics how old the stuff was...so instead of just backing out of the whole thing like I should have done I emailed her back and said it was all stuff within the last 5-6yrs. She said ok and gave me a drop off time. DH and I get there and the girl who met us outside (different girl not the email one) was completely rude and acted like we were a bother to her..she told us “you will need to bring all this in” very rudely...then she starts questioning if I got this approved...I explained I had. I have a feeling my experience was not the norm since a few people that suggested I donate to Head Start said their Head Start is nothing like that...I’ll never deal with the local ones here again though. Sounds like she wanted to preview the stuff to see if she wanted it for herself! That was my first thought, too. When you are talking about preschool, who cares how “current” the patterns are?

Seniors Centers are a great option too.
One that mom was in last fall, had craft gatherings and they made a variety cards for the seniors. They could grab one a send it for whatever occasion.
I too am purging, eliminating, and have a hard t8me with my quickcutz I loved it.

Grandkids are the reason I’m finding it so hard to purge my supplies. My DGDs have been stamping, cutting and sticking since they were 3/4 and they will have no need to buy craft items for future projects. That doesn’t help the state of my spare room though.

Sounds like she wanted to preview the stuff to see if she wanted it for herself! That was my first thought, too. When you are talking about preschool, who cares how “current” the patterns are? I feel weird quoting myself, but I thought about this some more. Not that it excuses her unkind attitude, but I wonder if this center gets a lot of “trash” donations, and by that, I mean things that just should have been tossed. A lot of charities that rely on donations have the same issu when people think, “Well, I could just throw it away, but poor people should appreciate anything they get, so I’ll give it to the Salvation Army.” Then the Salvation Army has to sort through it for anything usable and pay to dispose of the rest. Maybe this center had other well-meaning people donate old supplies that were no longer usable—stickers that wouldn’t stick, paper that was yellowed or brittle, embellishments that were falling apart, etc. And maybe they got a lot of “kits” with little usable stock in them that had to be sorted and the majority trashed. Or sheets of stickers with nothing but the lesser-used letters. If they had this experience in the past, I can imagine them questioning before accepting the donation. Head Start is notoriously underfunded and understaffed in some areas, but they could have been more diplomatic and explained the situation if that were the case.

Another idea for those involved with a church who does mission trips or schools that do summer immmersion projects.
My dd went to Costa Rica with her Spanish Club and took care packages to the schools she visited.

Great timely thread! This is one of my goals this winter! To go thru all my sb stuff. I have a room just over flowing! I completely!!! forgot I even had a ! I have a Quickutz the hand held one. I never use it, obviously. So will most likely sell it, so those are great options along with a lot of other stuff.

Keep donating to under served schools. Somethink like a Quickutz can be used to to make name badges (if it is what I think it is).

I’m struggling with doing this as well... I haven’t papercrafted in years but I keep all the stuff. I did do a huge purge a few years ago when we moved..donated a ton to the local Head Start (never again will I deal with them again though). For me it’s easier to just toss out then to worry about selling it off. This and your follow up posts makes me so sad. I work for Head Start and have for over 20 years. If someone wanted to donate craft supplies to us the only thing we would ask is to estimate the value and sign a donation form for us. I actually did have a large donation from a hoarder. We got three paper boxes full of 12x12 paper. Plus boxes and bags of embellishments, stickers and everything else you could think of. We sorted through it ourselves kept what we could, which was most of it, and passed the extra on to other sites.

We need so much in In-kind dollars. All donations are documented so we can claim it. Just for the record, if anyone ever wants to donate to my program I will gladly accept it. We cover south central and west MN.

Not a criticism, a sincere question as I need to make donations soon -- what problems did you have with your local Head Start? I tried to donate my scrapshit to our school and they wanted every piece of paper I was donating documented on a receipt. Eff that. I haven’t taken anything else to them. They were very generous with tax receipts in that past when we donated stuff but no, I am not doing that. I just give my stuff except Quickutz to friends.

I would donate thebdie cutter and dies to any local school who needed/could use them. Our tiny catholic school has one. The volunteer parents come in every week and teachers give them lists of cut outs that they would like made for various projects and wall art. It’s great!
