Hi folks,
I'm currently attending Penn State to earn my B.S. in psychology. One course I'm taking this semester involves a study of subcultures. Mine specifically is online political discussion groups and I was wondering if any one of you would be willing to answer interview questions I may have during these next few months. These questions would be along the lines of "What three issues do you comment on most frequently (i.e. voting laws, campaign strategies, federal budget, etc.)?" or "What if any topics do you avoid altogether?" and not questions asking you to defend your positions on specific issues or topics. Your answers don't have to be huge paragraphs (if you wish to put that much time into your answer, then by all means) but I envision your answers may be a sentence or two.
The catch is that I'll need for you to forward a form email that I'll provide to my professor that states I have your permission to use your words, along with your address and phone number. I personally feel that's a lot to ask of the Refupeas so I understand if that's a deal-breaker for you. (Maybe a work address/address instead? And my address and phone number will be included on the form as well. I'm not going to ask you to provide something that I have not!)
If you'd like to participate please post here or message me. I'll be eternally grateful!
Lisa

I’d be willing, unfortunately that is one topic I do not discuss on social media any longer. If someone is going to disparage my character I’d prefer they have to do it to my face.

What is he/she going to do with that information? Will it be kept private? For how long will the information be kept on file? When the time limit is up, what will become of that information? Will it be destoryed? Will copies be kept indefinitely? It just seems really odd that this would be required for a survey. In my psych classes we were never required to provide such information for any surveys we conducted. (I have a MS in psych). If there is a way around this I am happy to participate.

Happy to help, but at my institution we would be required to use RedCap or similar product and probably apply for an IRB exemption!
