I am interested in this, however, I called them and they said the minc foil won't work, however their foil that they are making is used by heat so why wouldn't the mink foil work. I have a ton of mink foil and don't want to rebuy foil. I am wondering if that is just a ploy to get us to buy theirs.

Minc foil is toner-activated and this foil is heat-activated. Basically, this tool is the upgraded version of the WRMK Heatwave tool that came out a few years ago and Minc foil didn't work with that either.

I thought the heat of the laminator is what activated. That makes sense. I am going to get it later in the year after I hear some reviews. It looks really neat and I think it would make some cool christmas cards.

So Joann Fabrics has the quill in stock, but it is excluded from coupons! Hmm... I was really hoping since it was WRMK, I could use a coupon. Boo!!

I bought the starter kit earlier in the month on HSN. It's $79.99 there plus shipping & tax. If you're a new customer, you can get $10 off and got money back through ebates. I posted a little mini-review here. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/post/2477779

My Joann’s was demoing it yesterday and it was really cool. The lady was using textured paper though and I think it would foil better on smooth. I was also surprised at the tip widths, the small is REALLY small. Super bummed it is excluded from coupons. I am hoping Craft Wareshouse will get it in and letting us use a coupon.
