Check it out. My kiddos have to document the night sky for two weeks. What an exciting start!

It is pretty and rather amazing! Saw it for about 2 minutes. With a wind chill of -5, and lots of gusty wind, it’s about all I could withstand.

It is so cool. But so cold! Logan is out there with telescope and binoculars. He just figured out he could see better with the equipment if he’s further away so he’s moving operations to the back yard.

Ugh...stupid cloud cover. I was maybe seeing a reddish hue thru the clouds and a very clear view thru DS's telescope, but it wasn't red. And since it was freezing cold we gave up after about 10 minutes.

We have clear skies and I live in a rural area. If the damn neighbor would turn off their light it would be perfect

We're only seeing half but it does look like kinda cool with the clouds. You can sort of see the red through the clouds.

DS and I just spent the last hour taking photos. We're in Florida and have a surprisingly clear view. It's quite spectacular.

THANK YOU for posting this! I just saw your post & had no idea.
It's almost at full eclipse right here and the view is fantastic.

“Hey mom can we take Reagan out to see it?” Because she cares about the eclipse...
“Can I leave my telescope outside overnight?” NOOOOOO!

It’s too cloudy here to see. My 9 year old daughter and I are jealous of everyone who gets to see the moon and eclipse tonight! Enjoy the show!

We braved the cold for about 30-60 seconds. Lol. The best part is that we’ve been texting our dds about it—they’re looking too, from Iowa and Indiana. The family that watches the moon together....

Conditions are perfect here in Oklahoma for viewing. (Except for the cold!) It’s beautiful!

We had a fabulous clear night and I’ve just gone to bed at 5.30 am having stayed up to see it. I’m really glad I did even it it wasn’t particularly big here nor particularly red. Still cool though.

Just came back in from looking at it. Didn't stay out too long as it's cold here (cold for Houston). It's really amazing to look at. So glad I remembered it before it was too late.

It’s super cold here in NJ too and I think ds would have stayed out watching all night if I let him. He started out laying flat on his back on the ground. Brrrrr!

When I was little I remembered watching meteor showers while hanging out in a sleeping bag.. but it was the summer in Illinois. So fun!

I let DD stay up extra late to watch it happen. We read Fudge-Mania and stopped about every 15 minutes to go back and look at it as it progressed. It was perfectly clear here tonight, but very cold! We did go outside about 30 minutes ago to look at it and it was so cool! By that time the moon had risen so high we couldn’t see it from inside anymore as it was almost directly above the house.

It's so weird that the live video I linked above does NOT look like it does here. It's getting light from the left side here and from the top in the livestream.

I did not see it but my daughter was working nightshift, and she sent me a gorgeous picture that she took. I can't wait until I talk to her. I want to verbally hear what she thought. The pictures are beautiful!
