I'm thinking about venturing out today. DS(17) drove to school just now. His text was, "Made it, only slightly died." ha ha! Off topic but I really, really miss those hilarious high school texts from our girls (who are now 23 and 26 and in serious careers...) Your son is funny.

Hey girls....as of a half hour ago, I have heat downstairs again. Hurray! It was only one day without, but I was very much over it!
Got out and ran errands earlier. Could the sky BE any bluer today? STUNNING! Other than the side streets, the roads were great and clearly a lot of people still stayed home today, there were hardly any cars on the roads. It was lovely. My car drove awesomely on the compacted snow and ice, and getting off my hill was much easier than I anticipated.
I'm totally in for more snow (sorry GMC wife), as long as my heat doesnt go out again ;P

I’m in North Bend, WA and we have 10”. Mount Si is absolutely gorgeous!! A local guy who predicts the weather and is pretty accurate is predicting another 8” on Thursday night/Friday morning. Yikes!! I love the snow!!! I’m just hoping if we do get another 8” that the ice on the roads get a chance to melt some more before it does. Vicky Is the local guy, Cliff Mass? If so, I just checked his blog and ....yep, snow on Friday/Saturday. DD has her first "spring" soccer game scheduled for Saturday morning. At this point, I'm thinking there is no way the snow is going to melt enough to see the field markings.

Cliff Mass is the weather go-to, although I think he underestimated this last snowfall... Gorgeous skies today! We are on Snow Day #2. My guess for tomorrow is 2 hours late. Then more snow on Thursday. Actually, my weather app says snow on Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week! When do we EVER get snow like that?
At this rate, we'll be in school until July!

What a gorgeous day today! I did get out and about. The side streets and parking lots were a slickery mess, but main roads were fine. Wondering how those wet roads will look tomorrow morning though.

It’s not very cold here. We have no snow. The sun is glorious and here I am on the bed on an electric blanket because I am cold. Edmonton, Alberta was -45C today and I am cold at 0C. Is this not crazy? It’s not even cold and my knees ache and I had to warm up. We are expecting snow on Thursday and Friday this week.

It’s just a guy who does the weather close to me. I like his predictions since North Bend seems to have its own microclimate. If you want to look him up, his Facebook page is North Bend Wa Weather. (Sorry, I don’t know how to do links.) I think your DD’s game will probably be canceled. Or at least I hope for their sake. It’s too darn cold out there!! I also just heard on Channel 5 that they are predicting snow through next week. I’ve lived here 40+ years and don’t recall us getting snow like this!! Though, maybe in ‘08-‘09. Stay warm and safe out there! Vicky

Not excited about Friday snow..that’s when I’m supposed to fly home. I’m in SLC currently...and of course it’s snowing here too. At least they have the equipment to deal with it.

I just love it here. I know when it snows it’s hard to drive and a mess and all that, but it’s just so beautiful! Ps. I’m the first snowflake freak out lady who lives in a hill.

No school here Monday & Tuesday, tomorrow is 2 hour delay (so far)
On Thursday I'm checking into a scrapbook house for a weekend crop until Sunday. Maybe I'll have to stay extra days?

Ok ladies. How are y'all feeling about the forecast for over the weekend and into next week? I'm totally a "I'll believe it when I see it" kind of girl when it comes to snow. But....if it really happens and we have snow falling on and off for days, I want to be cozy, do some crafts and household projects, and get my "chef" on. So I'm off for a big (for me) grocery shop tomorrow.
Have you got any healthy "snow day" recipes.you want to share?
What are your plans?

I only have one thing planned for Friday and Saturday so if we really do get snow (I never believe it until it hits), I'm planning on cancelling my one thing and staying home! I am a nervous driver in the snow so with the first flake, I'm home bound.

I will change my plans and craft too And then next year I will hope to do as well or better in my dog race! I’m in second place but will lose that if I can’t run this weekend.

This is my first year and we are very new to urban mushing. But we are having a great time and using strategy to make up for our lack of miles

Cliff Mass just suggested that everyone stock up on food because we are going to get dumped on, starting Friday afternoon. After that storm is done on Saturday...wait for it...another one starts on Monday. The ice from this storm isn't even going to be gone by Friday!
At least part of this one will be over a weekend. Missing more school is not a good thing.

I hate it. I like snow for one day- beautiful and then melt away. It sucks because I have hills and a long commute and I’ve missed a lot of work already. Burning vacation days for this isn’t how I wanted to spend them and now here comes more. Sigh. Signed, the snow grinch

I'm supposed to go to the Girl Scouts Annual Meeting on Saturday in Renton, but they are thinking about cancelling it. I was looking forward to it (and I'm getting an award!). Our only other commitment this weekend is communion prep on Sunday morning, but I've already told the person in charge that if the snow pans out like it is predicted, we likely won't be able to get out of our neighborhood.
I did go to Costco today just because we were out of eggs, milk, and butter and picked up a few other things to get us through the weekend----dark chocolate salted caramels & frozen street tacos. We'll be good. ha ha!

I went grocery shopping today before I saw the weather forecast for the coming week. Aargh. Back to the store I go tomorrow to do a heavier stock up. I live in a rural, hilly area that doesn't see much in the way of road maintenance so I may be socked in for the next week. Our weather guys are saying there's a potential for at least 3 main snow events over the next 8 or 9 days. Plus icy conditions. We're now paying the price for our nice January weather. My budding plants aren't going to be happy and neither am I.

My daughter is a service unit girl delegate, and if I didn't have scrapbooking plans, I would have been there. Congratulations on the award!

I feel bad for all the troops who were going to do money earning tables. I'm sure they were counting on that money for things.
