So frustrated with my professors, I have had two tell me, it is never as bad as they say (I know that I have lived here most of my life). Except you know on monday when it snowed more than it was supposed to. Campus closes at 3pm today, my class is supposed to be 1-4pm. The professor said we will monitor the snow by going outside since our class room has not windows.

I love that all of you are as obsessed about the weather as as us Brits are, even if only temporarily 😀 Yeah, it is kind of crazy . I grew up in Utah, and have lived in Colorado, Germany and Sweden. I also spent 13 years in Arizona and Texas, and now three in Washington. I’ve experienced the difference between living in places where two feet of snow is barely a blip to anyone, and places where they just don’t have the resources to deal with even an inch of the slippery stuff on the roads. My own neighborhood here will never get any kind of scraping/salting/sanding. Our limited vehicles and manpower have to focus on the main roads, so I know that if I have to go out anywhere it’s going to be an ice skating rink all the way to a main road/freeway. Stay safe everyone!

Snow is gently falling here in eastern WA and it's beautiful! We got maybe an inch so far and looks like it might snow all day. Yesterday we had a storm warning here that we might get high winds and windchill of -25 over the weekend, but looks like they have downgraded that to an advisory. Forecast changes hourly over here, so we will see. I can deal with it as long as power stays on!!

I learned to drive in white stuff in Montana (didn’t have the option), continued driving in it in Colorado, but here in Washington, it terrifies me because the roads won’t be taken care of properly AND because of the other drivers who don’t know how to drive in winter weather. Will be interesting to see how this week pans out. We are out for one last outing and small additional food run just in case.

I'm at work in Everett and the snow is just starting. I'm going to head home soon and work the rest of the day from home.

It hasn’t started yet east of Seattle. I was worried about it dumping when I was at work. Not that I would have noticed, it was very busy with parents getting their kids out early. When I was finished about 12:30, it was 37*. Ummmm, are we going to get any snow?!
On a side note, I had to call parents to see why their kid was absent. Can I just say some parents can be so nasty. I’m calling you because the teacher has marked your child absent. A Mom I called told me to double check, triple check, no I must quadruple check every student before I call the parent because I can cause them undo stress. I told her I was subbing and apologized. But I really felt like saying sorry, the teacher made a mistake. We are human. And no I don’t have time to quadruple check 500+ students. How about you come in and help or try to do it yourself. Urg!!!
Rant over. If it does snow, stay safe! Vicky

It’s coming down hard now in the north end and accumulating quickly. Hopefully everyone can watch this from home and enjoy the beauty and not have to drive in it.

It’s been coming down steadily on me for over two hours, all the way from University Place to Tumwater, and it’s sticking on our roads already. The radar looks like it might let up some though in a bit. Or not .

I went out to get lunch and a frappachino and am now comfy and warm on the couch watching the snow (and John Tucker Must Die on Freeform). I'm in for the weekend.

It's coming down now in the Lynnwood/Edmonds area. These are from our lunch time walk, the left picture is the start of our walk and the right is at the end. Though he did not want to come in, this is his type of weather!

I was up in Shoreline this morning. I left there at about 12:45. What is normally a 20-30 minute drive home took over an hour. Snow wasn’t even sticking to the roads, yet people were still driving stupid. I swear the second white stuff begins to fall from the skies, Seattlites quite literally lose their ever-lovin’ minds. If we’re IG friends I posted a story, that’s how irritating it was 🙄

It started at 1pm in Sammamish. We already have a road closed right by my house due to an accident. It’s taking hours for people to get home. My husband had to try a few routes before making it home. He thought he was going to have to leave his truck and walk. My daughter still isn’t home. Been driving for over two hours. She started in Tukwila. ETA: she had to abandon her car on a hill and attempt to walk home. Hopefully someone will give her a ride!

I let the dog out at 4am and let her back in about 4:45 or so. No snow , just what we got the other day.
Wake up at 8am, and there was at least 2 inches on the ground.
The chickens are not happy.

I can’t imagine being on the road right now. Hope your daughter makes it home soon.

Hi we got 1cm or 0.5” of snow. We have a big wind warning but that’s it. It’s not cold, but I did wear boots to go next door. I wonder if we will get more on the weekend or not. It could get interesting.

@zingermack that graphic clearly wasn’t made by a native. Schools close at a half inch. And sometimes when it just threatens to snow. Locals, what’s it looking like at your place? 5:15 on Queen Anne. Stopped snowing a bit ago and actually the temp is a couple of degrees warmer than earlier and we have 2” of slushy wet UCK now. It was a lot nicer out there an hour or two ago. It had BETTER snow more overnight (stomps feet) as I bought into the snow-hype this time and have too much food in the house in order to do some serious cooking while snowed in. So, where are you(ish) and what’s it looking like?

It’s still falling steady over Tumwater. My Wunderground app is currently predicting it’s going to stay this way for us until 9:00am 🥶.

of course, my dad did not listen to me and was out shopping in the north end of seattle at costco at 2:30.. then planning to hit fred meyer before driving home to madison park. he is 92. he is very very good at driving in snow, but I worry about others. I told him to shop wed.. just didn't do it.
he lives in madison park. and wouldn't shop locally. a significant number of people in Seattle ski.. and if you ski there, you are used to digging out from 6 ft of snow.. so they aren't whimps.. it is just it snows so rarely, they don't have the equipment to deal with it and the hills make it complicated..

His 15 minute drive will probably take 30+ minutes. But he goes opposite of the traffic so it will be more the road conditions then traffic. I’m already tired of the non-stop news coverage. It’s already been on for over three hours Good thing I have recorded shows to catch up on!

Snowing in Lynnwood - had enough to cover all the dog tracks made in the first fall. DH is home early, have plenty of food and milk for my cuppa and the cherry on the cake was The Tunnel 3rd series is now free on Amazon, so I'm all set. Hope everyone stays safe and warm.

It’s stopped snowing here in Redmond. It’s currentky showing a 50% chance of snow overnight. This morning it said 90% chance. I’m starting to feel like it won’t be as bad as predicted. That being said, we lost power around 5:00 which sort of sucks. We have a generator, but haven’t turned it on yet. We will before bed if power is still out.

cmpeter, I hope your power comes back soon. That’s always my biggest concern during a storm because it happens so often.
We got quite a bit here, northeast of the city, and it shows it may continue through the night. If it doesn’t people are going to lose their ever loving minds and never trust a weather report again 😄😄. We’re still supposed to have another storm on Sunday so I’m planning to stay in all weekend anyway. I’ve got to cook all that food I bought!

Maybe those of us down south are getting more of what they predicted. It’s still coming down here in Tumwater, at least in our part, but we live in some sort of weird weather pocket anyway.

I’m up in Monroe, really not too much up here. We still had quite a bit from earlier in the week. My husband worked from home today though, so we don’t need to be out in it anyway. We have an event we are going to on Sunday night at Pike Place Brewing, the Sunday forecast better not mess that up!
