This is where you pose your challenges. You can challenge us to use a particular colour or product, technique or colour. You can challenge us to create a specific project (like a valentine card ), use a specific shape or size of background or specific number of photos or other elements. If you have a huge stash of something, feel free to challenge yourself to use some of that supply on every project. You can assign bonus points for combining elements in your challenge.
Please read the challenges that are already in the thread before you post yours to reduce duplications.
Please number your challenges consecutively from the last challenge that appears in the thread. If the numbers get mixed up, that's okay. I can go in and edit them. But it makes if flow better if we try to keep them numbered in order.
This thread will be open until end of day (for me) Sunday, February 3rd.
Challenge #1: Can you spell LOVE? To earn one point, on your project, use something that starts with each of the letters in the word LOVE. This could be a product, a manufacturer, a colour, a shape, or any other element.
For example: Layered mats, Oval shapes, Velvet, and an Envelope.
Bonus of 5 points if you spell love AND include the word "Love" in your title.
Challenge #3: Play along with 28-4-28. Claim a point if you meet a 28-4-28 challenge. If you complete ALL of the 28-4-28 challenges before 11:59PM Mountain Standard Time on Sunday March 3rd, you will earn a bonus of 100 points!
note: you can claim points for more than one 28-4-28 challenge for any one project, but to earn the bonus, you will need to complete 28 different pages or cards or art pieces.
Challenge #4 - Hearts It wouldn't be February without including hearts in the list of challenges. Use heart embellishments, heart shaped background elements or photos, or heart patterned paper. Bonus point if you use 5 different heart embellishments on your LO or card.
Challenge #6 - Zodiac The two zodiac signs associated with February are Aquarius and Pisces. Aquarius symbol = Water Bearer; Pisces symbol = Two Fish. Include some kind of embellishment or photo that relates to either of these symbols on your card or layout. Bonus 5 points if your birthday is in February and you do a layout about your star sign and what it says about you.
Challenge # 11 Terrific Tangled Titles - 1 point for using 2 or more "fonts" (different thickers, stickers, hand written, computer generated, stamped, pre-made word) in your title. So 2 different types of thickers still counts. Mix it up! 2 points if your title is 3 or more words.
Challenge #16: Make a card: ANY card!!! Take a point for every card you make in February, whether it is a valentine's greeting, for Chinese New Year, a birthday or anniversary card, a sympathy card, a friendship card, or you are starting on Christmas cards for next year!
Challenge #18 Cherished & Hoarded | Use something you've carefully hoarded and kept for the future. Carpe diem, all we have is now, and all that jazz. Has to be from a line that's at least 2 years old (released prior to 2017).
Challenge #19 This month, I... | Make a spread, LO, page about something happening right now in January/February 2019, in your life, a loved one's life, the world. Anything goes: special events, everyday stuff, current faves, Valentine's Day, etc.
#27 - You know you just had to have it - - - Those brads, eyelets, ribbon, enamel dots, buttons, nuvos. Whatever it was that you just had to jump on the band wagon and buy but really haven't used. Use at least two on your layout.
Challenge 29: Pre Done Madness We all have them, the already done stickers, title pieces, words, that cool whatchamacallit that was too cute to leave in the store that you had to have just in case. (can you tell I have been going through my embellishment/sticker drawers lately?) Think old school Jolees, theme specific things (sport balls, puppy things, dinosaurs, clusters of flowers, critters, guitars, etc). I hope this makes sense! I want to see you use ALREADY DONE STICKERS. Just slap them on and DONE! No altering, no inking, just from package to paper.
